Police continue call for witnesses after body of Luke Jon Telega found in Hobart bin
Detectives in Tasmania are looking for a woman they've identified as one of the last people to see a man alive, before his body was found inside a bin in Hobart.
Luke Jon Telega, 45, was found dead inside an industrial-sized garbage bin at Percy St in Bellerive on Monday morning.
Telega was last seen by family at 10pm on Saturday.
Police have been putting together a timeline of his final movements, in an attempt to investigate how he ended up in the bin and weather he met with foul play or misadventure.
An autopsy showed no visible signs of injury, and police confirmed there was a significant gap between when he was last seen and the discovery of his body.
CCTV footage shows that Telega catching a bus at Tollard Dr, in Rokeby, last Friday at 4.34pm.
A woman in a light-coloured hoodie joins the bus at the same time and is then seen to exit the bus at the same stop as Telega, in the car park of the Shoreline Hotel several minutes later at about 4.38pm.
There is no suggestion the women was involved with Telega's death, however, police said they believe she may be able to help with inquiries.
'Police are trying to piece together Mr Telega's movements leading up to a garbage contractor finding his body,' they said.
'Further, police still wish to speak with (another) woman shown on CCTV footage standing at a shopfront on Percy Street about 7:50pm on Sunday.
'Police believe the member of the public may have spoken with someone in Percy Street at the time and may be able to assist with inquiries. The woman was driving what is believed to be a light-coloured Toyota Prado.
A third woman shown on CCTV footage standing near a red SUV in Percy St on Sunday night has contacted police and no further action was required, police said.
The bin where Telega was found sits behind a Salvation Army outlet and is known to be frequented by people sleeping rough, Tasmania Police Detective Inspector David Gill said on Tuesday.
It is unclear if Telega had been sleeping in the bin.

Police find bodies believed to be missing Queensland couple Leannedra Kang and Takahiro Toya
Tasmanian police officers have found two bodies believed to be those of Queenslanders Leannedra Kang and Takahiro Toya. The couple, aged in their 20s, were reported missing on Wednesday, the day they were meant to return to Brisbane after a road trip around Tasmania. But the pair did not board their flight from Launceston to Brisbane or return their rental car that day. Tasmania Police Inspector Luke Manhood said on Friday police found a crashed car in a river off Tebrakunna Road in the state's north-east. The bodies were found nearby shortly after. "At this early stage, it appears they were travelling over a bridge when the vehicle has left the roadway and ended up in the water," Inspector Manhood said. "Our initial investigations suggest there are no suspicious circumstances, but further forensic examinations will now take place as is the usual process, and a report will be prepared for the coroner." "We would like to thank community members for their efforts in providing information to assist in the search." According to police, Ms Kang and Mr Toya left Hobart on June 3 and planned to travel to Richmond, Ross, Bicheno, Bay of Fires and Mole Creek. Ms Kang's sister Cassandra Kang said the couple often enjoyed road trips together in their home state but this was their first trip interstate.
