Liverpool ‘set to agree' 2 transfers before end of window amid Jayden Danns dilemma
It has been an extremely quiet transfer window for Liverpool who has seen fringe players Marcelo Pitaluga and Thomas Hill leave in permanent deals, while Calvin Ramsay returned to the club from a short-term spell at Wigan Athletic, only to head back out to Kilmarnock.
He wasn't the only player to cut short a loan move. Kaide Gordon was recalled from Norwich City earlier this month after a disappointing period at Carrow Road. The youngster played just five minutes across the last six league games prior to his loan being terminated but it was reported at the time he would likely head somewhere else for the remainder of the campaign.

The Athletic stated in a recent article that remains the case for Gordon, who has been training with the Under-21s since his return from Norwich. The winger has played 10 senior games for Liverpool and became the club's youngest scorer when he netted against Shrewsbury Town in January 2022.
The same report also claims Luke Chambers will look to secure a short-term move elsewhere. The left-back has spent the season so far at Wigan but a back injury has prevented him playing since October. Chambers started every game for the Latics before sustaining his injury.
Jayden Danns and James McConnell have also attracted interest from the Championship but Liverpool won't make a decision on whether they will leave on loan until later this week. Stoke City, Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End are reportedly interested in the latter and has played three times for Arne Slot's side this season, scoring in the FA Cup win over Accrington Stanley earlier this month.
Slot gave an indication earlier this month that Danns is very much part of his plans: 'We have three options, but Jayden did really well when he came in so we have actually four options and it's up to us as a club to make the best possible decision for the near future but also the long-term future of this club.'
As for McConnell, he has played twice for the first team in 2024/25 and missed the early months of the season through injury.

Liverpool will agree to forward deal if these conditions are met
Liverpool have already offloaded various attacking players this summer - including Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez. Those two have helped the club rake in more than £100m between them but the indications are that Richard Hughes and Arne Slot won't stop there. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas home range 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! Plenty of interest in Koumas Koumas, 19, spent last season on loan at Stoke City - playing almost 50 matches. He has been strongly linked with ANOTHER Championship loan move for the 2025/26 season but no deal has yet materialised. Sheffield United and Norwich City were among the first suitors named for the Welshman, who has already played and scored for the Liverpool first team. Given his nationality, it's perhaps inevitable that Wrexham have been linked with the versatile attacker and it's now been revealed what Liverpool's key demand is for the youngster. The Premier League champions want to ensure that Koumas receives as much game time as possible - according to the latest report in the Wrexham Insider. Wrexham told Koumas conditions 'Norwich City, Derby County, Hull City, and Sheffield United are among those chasing Koumas, but nearly half of the league have shown an interest this summer,' says a report. 'The key to winning this race, it seems, is in assuring Liverpool that Koumas will get regular game time. 'That's thought to be the key factor for the Premier League champions, and they will now assess the various options available to Koumas before making a decision.' © IMAGO Wrexham have got former Liverpool players Danny Ward and Conor Coady on board for the Championship season but have made a poor start to their second-tier campaign. They have lost their opening two fixtures - suffering back-to-back defeats to Southampton and West Brom respectively. Koumas therefore might bring an added attacking impetus for Wrexham as they hope to re-align their season and aim for Premier League promotion at the first time of asking. **🔴 **Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas home range 🔴

Liverpool tipped for transfer battle with Man Utd and Tottenham for Premier League captain
Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham are all keeping tabs on Brentford skipper Nathan Collins. The Irish defender was handed the captain's armband earlier this month and marked the occasion in style, scoring the winner in a preseason friendly against local rivals QPR. Despite the growing interest, a transfer appears unlikely for now, with Brentford unwilling to part ways with the Republic of Ireland international following a summer that already saw two key departures. Collins only joined Brentford in 2023 from Wolves in a club-record $31 million deal, signing a six-year contract. But his rise to captaincy, succeeding the outgoing Christian Norgaard, who joined Arsenal, has not gone unnoticed. READ MORE: Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Alexander Isak stance, Ibrahima Konate talks, Marc Guehi decision READ MORE: Oliver Glasner sends cryptic transfer message amid Marc Guehi and Liverpool talks New Bees boss and fellow countryman Keith Andrews has hailed Collins as "a natural leader." Brentford was beaten 3-1 by Nottingham Forest on Sunday. United remains interested in strengthening its defense, having already raided the Bees for Bryan Mbeumo in a $85 million deal. However, any further arrivals at Old Trafford are expected to hinge on player departures. Tottenham is also exploring defensive options, with new boss Thomas Frank — who left Brentford for Spurs this summer — an admirer of Collins, though his respect for his former club may temper any move. Liverpool's need for reinforcements at the back was highlighted in their shaky 4-2 win over Bournemouth on the opening day at Anfield. Collins, who became Stoke's youngest-ever captain at just 18, has gone on to earn 30 caps for the Republic of Ireland and started in Brentford's Premier League opener at Nottingham Forest. New manager Andrews has earmarked the 23-year-old as a central figure in his plans this season. The Bees remain confident that the 24-year-old is committed to the club. Collins' commanding presence, composure, and proven Premier League experience have caught the eye of Liverpool's recruitment staff, who are weighing up defensive options. Although he is admired at Anfield, interest is understood to be tentative, with no formal approach made. Collins still has four years left on his contract and has given no indication of seeking a move, while Brentford remains firm in its stance that he is not for sale. Sources close to the situation describe it as straightforward — a transfer is highly unlikely this summer. The 23-year-old featured 33 times across all competitions last season, earning recognition for his aerial dominance, positional discipline, and leadership qualities. While United, Spurs, and Liverpool's monitoring highlights his growing reputation, a move would only be considered if circumstances were to change dramatically.
