Violent Rioters Swarm ICE Agents In Los Angeles
Hundreds of violent demonstrators targeted federal immigration agents in Los Angeles over the weekend, surrounding a federal building, vandalizing vehicles, and assaulting agents.
ICE agents arrested illegal aliens in multiple raids across the Los Angeles area on June 6 and 7, Fox 11 reported. According to a press release, agents were targeting 'criminal illegal aliens' including 'gang members,' 'drug traffickers,' and others with a history of violence, robbery, smuggling, and 'cruelty to children.'
More than 1,000 attackers surrounded a federal building on June 6, leaving officers 'vastly outnumbered,' ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons said in the release. They also targeted agents on June 7, destroying a local news SUV in the process. As Fox News' Bill Melugin reported, rioters threw rocks at federal agents as they drove away.
'These violent rioters will be held accountable if they harm federal officers, and make no mistake, ICE will continue to enforce our nation's immigration laws and arrest criminal illegal aliens,' Lyons said.
Federal agents arrested David Huerta, president of the public union SEIU California, on June 6. He allegedly 'obstructed their access by blocking their vehicle' while they were serving a warrant, according to U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli. California Gov. Gavin Newsom defended Huerta, calling him a 'patriot' and saying he was simply 'witnessing government action.'
Amid the riots, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass issued a statement to 'immigrants' that the city was 'fighting for you.' Lyons denounced Bass for siding with 'chaos and lawlessness over law enforcement.'
'It took over two hours for the Los Angeles Police Department to respond, despite being called multiple times,' Lyons said in the release. 'Sanctuary politicians would do well to remember that impeding our efforts only endangers their communities, law enforcement officers, and the detainees they claim to support.'
Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell also pledged to 'not assist or participate in any sort of mass deportations' in a statement on June 6. He said the deportations were causing 'anxiety for many Angelenos.'
Stephen Miller, President Donald Trump's deputy chief of staff for policy, said on X McDonnell was 'siding with invaders over citizens.' He called the riots 'an insurrection against the laws and sovereignty of the United States.'
These operations are 'proceeding as planned' in Los Angeles County, Essayli posted to X on June 7. He urged residents to refrain from interfering, and said anyone who obstructs agents can expect 'arrest and prosecution.'
ICE will 'continue to enforce the law,' Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem posted to X. She said 'if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.'

Hall declares victory over Davis for Fort Worth City Council District 6 seat
Dr. Mia Hall declared victory over opponent Daryl R. Davis II to the applause and cheers of friends, mentors and family Saturday night at her election watch party at Bowlounge. Unofficial polling data shows Hall leading with 57.12% over Davis's 42.88% in the race for the Fort Worth City Council District 6 seat. Allof the 19 polling locations are reporting. Hall will fill out-going Council Member Jared Williams's shoes to represent Southwest Fort Worth and Como. In the crowd during Hall's speech of thanks were Council Members Chris Nettles, Michael Crain and Elizabeth Beck and Crowley School Board Members Dr. Nedra Robinson and Chakina Watkins. Because none of the four candidates — Davis, Hall, Marshall Hobbs and Adrian Smith — received more than 50% of the votes on May 3, the top two vote-getters went to a runoff election. On May 3, Hall had 46.8% of the votes, followed by Davis with 28.49%, Hobbs with 21.57% and Smith with 3.14%. Now with early voting results, she leads by nearly 400 votes. There was a 4.47% voter turnout. Hall said she was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the voters. She was formerly a Crowley ISD Board Trustee and a member of the Fort Worth Zoning Commission. 'It's been my pleasure to to have served this community in the capacity of a trustee for the last 10 years,' Hall said, 'and just to see the voter turnout, and the fact that they are going to bestow or that I may have the opportunity to represent them as the District 6 councilwoman, is just very humbling.' Hall has promised safe neighborhoods, improved roads and infrastructure, enhanced city services and the fostering of economic development. 'I made promises to our neighbors, and I plan to honor those promises,' Hall said. 'Among those were to be responsive and to be accessible, and that's something that I want to be day one. The other part will be just getting my bearings meeting the other council men and women and me and my colleagues, and just getting my footing underneath me so that we can take the priorities that our District 6 neighbors have made and put them to work quickly, without delay.' Her opponent in the runoff, Davis, promised well-planned neighborhoods that are safe and affordable to live in.

Diane Abbott Slams Keir Starmer's Immigration Speech For Being 'Fundamentally Racist'
Diane Abbott has declared that Keir Starmer's 'island of strangers' immigration speech was 'fundamentally racist' and copying Reform UK's rhetoric. The prime minister sparked comparisons right-wing former Tory minister Enoch Powell after he announced Labour's plans to slash the number of migrants coming to the UK last month. At the time, he said: 'In a diverse nation like ours, and I celebrate that, these rules become even more important. 'Without them, we risk becoming an island of strangers, not a nation that walks forward together.' Former NFL player Kelvin Joseph facing charges after crash that killed motorcyclist
DALLAS — Former NFL player Kelvin Joseph is facing charges for his involvement in a crash that killed a female motorcyclist on a Dallas-area freeway, The Dallas Morning News reported. Police in the Dallas suburb of Richardson said on social media that Joseph, who has been playing in the United Football League this spring, called police in Plano, another Dallas suburb, to report his involvement in the predawn crash Saturday. The 25-year-old Joseph, who was driving a BMW, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and collision involving personal injury or death, a second-degree felony. Police said 27-year-old Cody Morris of Plano was killed in the crash. Joseph was drafted by the Cowboys in 2021 and spent two seasons with them before he was traded to Miami. He also played briefly for Seattle and Indianapolis. The cornerback has been playing for the DC Defenders, who were set to play in a UFL conference championship game Sunday. The UFL said in a statement sent to Dallas TV station WFAA that it was aware of Joseph's arrest, but declined further comment. During the 2022 offseason with the Cowboys, Joseph was the passenger in an SUV from which two people fired shots into a group of men in Dallas, fatally striking one of the men in the head. Police concluded Joseph wasn't the shooter, and the NFL didn't suspend him. An attorney who previously represented Joseph didn't return a phone call from The Dallas Morning News.
