On family visit visas, Al-Kandari told Kuwait TV that expats can now bring their family members to Kuwait without the previously required minimum salary condition. The eligibility has also been expanded beyond spouses and children, allowing applications for relatives up to the fourth degree of kinship and the third degree by marriage.
He highlighted that, unlike the previous system, the updated process no longer requires visitors to travel via Kuwait's national carrier. Additionally, the visa application process has undergone full digital transformation through the launch of the 'Kuwait Visa' platform, developed in cooperation with the General Administration of Information Systems.

Applications for these leadership roles will be processed exclusively via the 'Fakhrna' platform, operated by the Public Authority for Manpower. The recruitment process will be overseen by the committee, starting with application reviews, followed by electronic written tests administered in cooperation with an accredited university, requiring candidates to achieve a minimum success rate of 80 percent. The final stage consists of personal interviews to select the most qualified national talents. The minister clarified that candidates must meet clear conditions to be eligible for supervisory roles, including being Kuwaiti nationals of good conduct, not retired, and possessing the necessary academic qualifications and practical experience relevant to the leadership positions. Successful completion of all evaluation stages is mandatory. Minister Al-Huwailah highlighted that these amendments mark a crucial step toward enhancing professionalism and transparency in the cooperative sector's appointment processes. Dozens of professionals in GCC can enter Kuwait KUWAIT: Family visas for expats are valid from one month to one year like tourist visas, a top interior ministry official announced on Wednesday, a day after the ministry said all expats can bring in their extended families to the country without the need for a salary cap condition. Deputy director of the electronic services at the Residency Affairs Department Col Abdulaziz Al-Kandari told reporters at the government communications center that family visas can be for a single entry for one month, or two months or three months. It can also be for multiple entries for between three months to one year, provided any single stay should not exceed one month, he said. Kuwait on Tuesday said that family visas for expats was open for everyone with a valid residence permit, thus abolishing the salary cap condition that restricted the majority of expats from bringing in their wives and children to Kuwait. The ministry also said family visas were expanded to include four-degree relatives and third-degree relatives by marriage. Kundari said that expats willing to bring their relatives can apply online at Kuwaitvisa platform or application by uploading the necessary documents. Relatives allowed to be brought by expat residents include a wide range of relatives from wives, children, parents to parents of the wife, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, grandfathers and grandmothers, grandchildren of both the applicants and their wives and others. They also include the father's wife for both applicants and wives, the son's wife, the daughter's husbands and similar relatives. For a majority of applications only a birth certificate is required and a marriage certificate is needed for some cases to establish the relationship. Col Kandari said that all documents must be in Arabic and documents in other languages must be translated into Arabic from authorized offices. Kandari also announced a large number of professionals residing in GCC states and who can obtain a tourist visa either on arrival or online through the Kuwaitvisa platform. They include chairmen of companies, their deputies and assistants, diplomats and embassy staff, general managers, managers and their assistants and deputies, judges, public prosecutors and lawyers, university academics, holders of golden visas, investors, businessmen and partners and others. They also include real estate owners, consultants and their assistants, experts and assistants, senior jobs in travel and tourism business, accountants, auditors and financial analysts, doctors and surgeons and their assistants, pharmacists and their assistants, nurses and their assistants, medical technicians, engineers and their assistants, school teachers and assistants, information analysts and alike, pilots and air stewards and others. They also include referees and coaches and their assistants, journalists and media men, in addition to professions that come under physicists, chemists, geologists, marketing officer, advisor, vessel captain and alike. Permitted professions can be checked through the Kuwaitvisa platform while applying online. Kundari said that applicants must also state their address in Kuwait or the address of their hosts. Kandari said that all types of visas are open to all nationalities except for the Israeli nationality which is barred by an Amiri decree. He also said that holders of travel documents can obtain a visa with the approval of the interior minister.

The tourist visa decision, which has been published in the official gazette 'Kuwait Alyoum' was issued under the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah. The decision followed a special study on visas conducted to meet the leadership's aspirations, under the supervision of the acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Ali Al-Adwani. The four categories of tourist visas are: Category One - Citizens of approved countries, determined based on the Global Peace Index, passport strength, and per capita income. These countries have no additional requirements and can choose from six tourist visa options - single or multiple entries, with stay durations of one, two, three, six months, or one year, provided each entry does not exceed one month. Category Two - Expats of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, residents of countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Schengen countries, as well as holders of tourist visas for these countries. These individuals can obtain a tourist visa if they belong to approved medium- or high-level professions that demonstrate the financial solvency necessary for tourism, residence, and travel in Kuwait. Currently, no proof of income is required as long as they reside in a Gulf country. Category Three (Under study) - This will be an open visa for anyone wishing to visit Kuwait for tourism who does not fall under categories one or two. It will require proof of financial solvency, such as a bank statement. Category Four - For local and international events and activities. Its requirements and duration are determined at the time of each event, such as the Gulf Cup, Asian Cup, or exhibitions held in Kuwait, based on the event's needs. Colonel Al-Kandari went on to explain that any resident can now apply for family visits and bring their relatives to stay in Kuwait, as the salary requirement has been abolished. Kinship ties have been expanded to include relatives up to the third and fourth degrees, allowing the entire family to be brought in. In addition, any commercial institution or company in Kuwait can apply for business visits through the 'Kuwait Visa' platform to submit visa applications. The process begins with approval, followed by payment, after which the visa is issued electronically.
