
Erth Abu Dhabi concludes Zayed Sports Tournament for Juniors 2025
ABU DHABI (WAM)Erth Abu Dhabi announced the successful conclusion of the Zayed Sports Tournament for Juniors 2025, held in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.The event paid tribute to the enduring legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose unwavering belief in the power of sports continues to inspire future generations and promote the values of discipline, teamwork, and excellence.This year's tournament witnessed an impressive turnout of young athletes including an increased participation of young UAE Nationals across all sports, underscoring the UAE's commitment to nurturing youth talent and fostering a culture of sportsmanship.The Zayed Sports Tournament for Juniors 2025 showcased exceptional youth talent across a variety of sports, drawing participation from leading clubs and academies in the region and beyond.The football tournaments featured Under-10 and Under-12 teams, including Al Wahda FC, Wolves Academy, Regional Sports, Real Madrid Academy, and others. In Jiu-Jitsu, standout participants represented The Force for Sports, Etizan Fitness, Delariva Abu Dhabi & Al Raha, UAE Jiu-Jitsu Club, UAE JJ, and Cobra RAK.The Tournament also saw impressive numbers in other disciplines, with 153 participants competing in chess and 111 athletes from six countries—UAE, Latvia, Kenya, Russia, Lebanon, and Bahrain—taking part in gymnastics. Additionally, 122 individuals competed in the swimming competitions, further highlighting the depth of young sporting talent on display throughout the event.In Football, the Under-10 category saw intense competition. Al Wahda FC claimed first place, taking home the gold medal. Second place went to Wolves Academy, while third place was awarded to First Star Academy.For the Under-12 Football category, Al Wahda FC once again secured first place, demonstrating their dominance across age groups. Second place was achieved by Regional Sports, and third place went to Real Madrid Academy.
In the Jiu-Jitsu competitions, several teams stood out for their exceptional performances. Among the winning teams were The Force for Sports, Etizan Fitness, Delariva Abu Dhabi & Al Raha, UAE Jiu-Jitsu Club, UAE JJ, and Cobra RAK.

Registration opens for Huairou Great Wall Marathon, Zayed Charity Run 2025
8 Aug 2025 11:01 ABU DHABI (WAM)Registration has opened for the Huairou Great Wall Marathon and the Zayed Charity Run 2025, scheduled for 21st September in event, organised by the Higher Organising Committee of the Zayed Charity Run, marks a cultural and sporting collaboration between the UAE and China, and is part of a global series that includes races in the UAE, Brazil, Egypt, the United States and Great Wall Marathon will feature over 51,000 runners in a Chinese Athletics Association A1-rated race. The course runs from Beijing Yanqi Lake International Convention & Exhibition Centre to Mutianyu Great Wall Travel Area, passing notable cultural in Abu Dhabi in 2001 to honour the UAE's founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Zayed Charity Run has raised more than $173 million for medical treatments and humanitarian causes worldwide, attracting over 613,000 runners in international editions in New York, Cairo and now General (Ret.) Zayed Charity Run 2025–2026 expands to six global destinations
14 July 2025 18:27 ABU DHABI (WAM)The Higher Organising Committee of the Zayed Charity Run has announced the launch of its 2025–2026 season with a historic expansion across six global destinations: China, Brazil, the UAE, Egypt, the United States, and the first time, the race will be held in China, Brazil and Hungary, reflecting its growing humanitarian and sporting influence across three new race, inspired by the legacy of the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, aims to promote giving, generosity, and social solidarity a press conference held at ERTH Hotel in Abu Dhabi, Lt. General (Ret.) Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee, said the expansion reflects global confidence in the race's mission and its impact on charitable and humanitarian added that the season will open on September 21 in Beijing, featuring a 5 km robot race for the first time, in addition to 10 km and 5 km races, with total prize money of $30, second stop will be in Rio de Janeiro on October 5, followed by a return to Abu Dhabi on November 29, coinciding with the UAE National Day and offering Dh1.5 million in prizes. Cairo will host the fourth leg on December 26 with EGP20 million in prizes.
