Good Morning Britain fans seriously divided as Robert Rinder fights back tears live on air - issuing desperate plea to ITV bosses
The 47-year-old was joined by Charlotte Hawkins, 50, for the most recent episode of GMB.
It was an emotional start to the show as they marked the 80th anniversary of VJ Day - a day which is celebrated each year on August 15, which marks the end of WWII.
Rob was visibly chocked up after sharing footage of the military pipers marking the start of the commemoration as he said: 'That sound is so profoundly vocative of what freedom means to reflect on today.
'To celebrate, commemorate, and above all else, don't you think to remember and commemorate the sacrifice of those who died so all of us could be free.'
Many viewers were moved by the presenter and think that he's a great host - and have even asked the channel to get him on our screens more often.

Good Morning Britain is presented by Susanna Reid, 54, Kate Garraway, 58, Ranvir Singh, 48, Richard Madeley, 69, Ed Balls, 58, Adil Ray, 51, Charlotte and Robert.
Robert has been in the industry since the early 2000s and is best known for starring in his own show Judge Rinder.
The ITV series aired between august 2014 and October 2020.
In 2019 he also hosted Channel 4's The Rob Rinder Verdict.
He later joined the GMB team in November 2021 as a guest host and said of the gig: 'Being a seasoned barrister will stand me in good stead on the show, demonstrating I'm as comfortable holding politicians to account as I am judging the week's TV on the Gogglebox sofa.
'Plus, who wouldn't want the chance to guest present alongside one of their best friends?'
The following year he became a regular host of the show.
It comes after it was revealed that Good Morning Britain star Richard Madeley has reportedly agreed to a short-term deal to stay on the ITV breakfast sofa as bosses prepare a cost-cutting overhaul.
The veteran broadcaster, 69, has signed a six-month contract thought to begin in September, as part of a temporary arrangement while ITV reviews its presenter line-up.
It comes ahead of a major reshuffle in January which is expected to see some familiar faces axed in a bid to save millions.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.

That was orchestrated by John, by the way. Mack concluded that he judged John far too early and since then, they've been somewhat civil with each other. But everything is set to change next week. Mackenzie will make a discovery about John shortly after a huge row with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins). We don't know what it is at the moment, but the trailer is enough to confirm that uncovering the information about John will alter everything for Mack. In the tense trailer, Mack is seen running through the woods. Eagle-eyed fans will also spot that this is the moment from Mack's flashforward clip, which aired towards the end of 2024. Mack dashes through the trees but ends up falling. Alongside these clips, we see John telling Mack that he has now 'joined up the dots'. While this is happening, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) looks set to confront Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). They will share a kiss on Monday, but Robert reckons that Aaron still loves him and doesn't want to leave with John. At the end of the trailer, Mackenzie is seen begging for his life as John throws a large rock above his head, presumably preparing for the moment he murders Mack. 'Guess I really am the bad guy', John says. If Mackenzie is murdered by John, it will be the first time (as far as we are aware) that he truly intends to kill someone. When Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) was killed, John never planned for it to happen. He gave Nate some medication and he had a bad reaction to it, leading to his death. Could this be a sign that John will now become even more unhinged, ahead of his inevitable exit? Lawrence Robb, who plays Mackenzie Boyd, spoke about the rumours of Mack's death this week. When appearing on the ITV daytime show Loose Women to talk about the ongoing surrogacy storyline – that has seen Charity decide to be a surrogate for granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) – the awkward matter of his upcoming exit was addressed. 'I don't want to put you on the spot, but I'm going to,' asked Jane Moore. 'There's lots of rumours that Mack might be getting killed off.' Lawrence, visibly squirming, replied: 'Yeah, there are lots of rumours. And rumours they shall remain.' Quick thinking – though Denise Welch didn't look too convinced. During Friday's (August 15) episode of the ITV daytime chat show, hosts Emma Willis and Craig Doyle dedicated a special segment to mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan Day), which brought World War Two to an end. The heartfelt segment took a deeply emotional turn as Gyles, a familiar face on This Morning, was brought to tears as he spoke about his late father. After watching an emotional clip, Gyles - appearing on the sofa alongside journalist Rachel Johnson went on to share how moving it was to see the King and Queen lead a two-minute silence. Manchester Pride history: from 80s Gay Olympics to one of Britain's biggest public events
From protests to parties, Britain has plenty of Pride events that celebrate queer liberation – but Manchester's blockbuster weekend jamboree remains one of the best-attended. Manchester Pride has continued to grow since its beginnings, with the aim of promoting inclusivity across the whole of the city, calling for positive change and using the event to support LGBT+ businesses and charities. This year's theme for the event is 'love' – recognising love as a source of strength and resilience for LGBT+ people and helping queer people have the courage to be themselves. When is Manchester Pride? It takes place over the August bank holiday weekend (Saturday 22 August - Monday 25 August) – a date used by Manchester's LGBT+ community for 45 years for celebratory events rooted in activism, often raising funds for the community and charities too. It has blossomed into one of Britain's biggest annual Pride celebrations. Events take place all over the city, but the parade snakes through the city centre, heading past Canal Street and the city's gay village which hosts a huge street party. This year, a Mardi Gras music and performance event will be at Depot Mayfield – one of Manchester's leading event spaces, and there's youth and family events, as well as late night parties with some iconic queer artists. Manchester Pride's parade is a free event, though there are ticketed elements such as the Mardi Gras and the Gay Village Party. You can buy tickets for them here. How did Manchester Pride begin? The city's Pride celebration roots go back to the 1980s in what is now the Gay Village neighbourhood in the city centre, centered around Canal street. Known as the beating heart of the city's LGBT+ community, it's always been regarded as a safe space for the community, where people could express their identity without fear of persecution. Here, the first Manchester Gay Pub and Club Olympics took place on the August bank holiday weekend in 1985, taking inspiration from school sports day, featuring wholesome competitive games with a camp edge such as an egg and spoon race and tug of war, all judged by drag queens. But despite the celebrations at the time, hostility and homophobia were still rife. The gay village, still largely an underground scene, was raided by police for 'licentious dancing'. In 1988, more than 20,000 people came together to protest in the streets against Section 28 – legislation that prevented schools and local authorities from 'promoting homosexuality' or reflecting it in a positive light. It was this activism, along with many others around the UK, that formed the basis of Pride parades today. What does the Manchester Pride organisation support? In 2007, Manchester Pride became a registered charity and campaigns for LGBT+ rights and equality, while also celebrating the community. It supports grassroot initiatives by giving them a platform at the event, as well as its grants programme which financially supports local groups or charities with donations between £250 and £11,000, and hosts events throughout the year too. Since 2021, there have been 148 grants given out and money generated by the weekend for Greater Manchester is estimated to be £104.8m since 2021. Though its charity status is fairly new, previously the events and celebrations over the August bank holiday weekend raised funds from ticket sales and bucket donations and supported HIV and AIDs charities, when the diseases resulted in many deaths among the gay community. In 1991, The Village Charity created an earlier iteration of Manchester's Pride, known as the Manchester Mardi Gras which raised £15k for HIV and AIDs causes too. Like all Pride events, the key and everlasting message is that it's not just a weekend-long or single day event, it's an all-year effort supporting and uplifting the community.
