The 5 Best Easter Eggs to Find in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Sometimes the fun in a game isn't just the play -- it's the hunt for all the references (and anachronisms) you can recognize. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the popular and critically acclaimed open-world RPG set in medieval Bohemia and sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, takes place in the 15th century and tries to be as historically accurate as it can -- players have to perform menial tasks, ranging from taking a bath to sleeping regularly (to avoid tiring), which can affect stamina and speech. But there are also plenty of contemporary references found in its world. Developer Warhorse Studios has a lot of territory to cover, and it appears it wanted to have a little fun by adding plenty of Easter eggs for players to enjoy.
Here are the five best Easter eggs in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
In Elden Ring, there was a famous online player named "Let Me Solo Her," who helped players trying to beat Melania, one of the most difficult bosses in the game. As his name implies, players who summoned Let Me Solo Her to their game were supposed to sit back and let him defeat the boss on his own. Let Me Solo Her defeated Melania more than 2,000 times before he retired.
To celebrate the famed player, Warhorse added a skeleton adorned with the player's trademark pot helmet and double swords. You can find it in a forest near the Woodcutter's Camp.
In another reference, this time to a FromSoftware game, if you visit the eastern corner of the monastery's graveyard, under a guard tower, you'll be able to find a small fire with a sword buried in it. This references the bonfires found in Dark Souls, which use a sword embedded in a campfire to indicate important waypoints.
Bethesda's Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still considered one of the best RPGs ever. It's also known as the basis of a popular meme spun by a guard who says he used to be an adventurer, but he took an arrow to the knee. When traveling the road to Kuttenberg from Devil's Den in KCD2, players will come across Karel Arrowhead, who unfortunately took an arrow to the head and scoffs at anyone complaining about taking an arrow to the knee.
It appears someone at Warhorse Studios is a fan of the One Piece anime. There's a special helmet you can find, Luffy's straw hat, near a giant tree in the woods south of Kuttenberg and past the Charcoal Burners' Camp. It's an equipable item, but offers no real protection and will make players easier to spot by guards.
Warhorse once again added a Harry Potter reference in its game as it did with the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance. This time it's a little more elaborate: It's a skeleton in a tree, mounted on a broom with a golden snitch in its mouth. Above the skeleton is a carriage, a reference to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets when Harry and Ron drove a flying car into a tree. This skeleton can be found west of the Charcoal Burners' camp near Vidlak Pond.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is out now for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.

Mortal Shell II is dark, gross and coming in 2026
To view this content, you'll need to update your privacy settings. Please click here and view the "Content and social-media partners" setting to do so. Developer Cold Symmetry jumpstarted Summer Game Fest Live with the first trailer for Mortal Shell II , a sequel to Mortal Shell with what looks like an equal amount of gruesome imagery. The game is expected to launch in 2026, but you can register right now to try a beta version of Mortal Shell II when it becomes available. According to the game's Steam page, Mortal Shell II is a standalone sequel to the original Mortal Shell released in 2020. It combines deliberate, Dark Souls -style action with a grotesque, dark setting, not unlike Dark Souls itself. The trailer offers ample examples is full of over-the-top enemies — of particular note, a giant armored snail — and lots of sharp things piercing soft flesh. Playing as "the Harbinger" you'll travel through "more than 60 dungeons," leveraging the "Shells" of fallen warriors to gain new abilities, Cold Symmetry writes. It sounds like the just the kind of punishing experience Soulslike fans get out of bed for. Mortal Shell II is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X / S in 2026.

George R.R. Martin Weighs in on the ELDEN RING Movie: 'Alex Garland Is a First Rate Director' — GeekTyrant
In a recent blog post, the Game of Thrones creator and co-architect of Elden Ring 's vast mythology, George R.R. Martin, offered his thoughts on the upcoming film adaptation, and on its newly announced director, Alex Garland: 'Here's the latest about the ELDER RING [sic] movie that was announced a few days ago. A24 is a kickass studio, and Alex Garland is a first rate director.' That's all he shared directly. No big lore drops or story teases. But Martin's 'current mood' at the end of the post? Simply… 'hopeful.' As for how Martin fits into the Elden Ring picture, he didn't write the game, but he did lay the foundation. Back in 2022, he crafted the world's backstory, its mythic conflicts, and that heavy, dense sense of fallen grandeur. From there, Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki and the team at FromSoftware built the playable experience that we all hate to enjoy, one filled with cryptic NPCs, grotesque monsters, and just enough misery to keep you emotionally invested and spiritually broken. So far, all we know about the film is that it's coming from A24, and Alex Garland is directing. It's also reported that Kit Connor ( Heartstopper, Warfare ) may lead the dark fantasy epic. No story details have been shared, but I think it would be a samrt move to tell the story of Vyke the Dragonspear. It a really strong story, and if you're not familiar with it, you can read all about it here. It's the kind of tragic story arc is tailor-made for Garland's storytelling style. Martin also embedded a video from YouTuber Zayf the Scholar titled 'Why the Elden Ring Movie WON'T SUCK – Director Reveals His TRUE Power Level.' That doesn't technically confirm anything, but Martin is obviously vibing with the vision. You can watch that video below.

Julianne Moore ‘Just Wrapped' Jesse Eisenberg's Upcoming A24 Musical: ‘We're All Singing in It'
Julianne Moore celebrated the premiere of her next project, 'Sirens' on Netflix, on Tuesday, May 20 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. The limited series features Moore alongside Meghann Fahy, Milly Alcock, Kevin Bacon, and Glenn Howerton in the Margot Robbie-produced project from 'Maid' creator Molly Smith Metzler. On the carpet, IndieWire caught up with Moore about Jesse Eisenberg's upcoming A24 musical film. As for what she can tease, Moore told us that she will indeed be showing off her vocal chops, a follow-up to singing a little bit in 2021's 'Dear Evan Hansen': 'Yes, I am. I'm singing. We're all singing in it,' she said. More from IndieWire 'Resurrection' Review: Is This an Endurance Test or Imaginative, Boundary-Defying Cinema? You Decide! 'Elden Ring' Movie in the Works from Director Alex Garland at A24 'Jesse Eisenberg is just the most extraordinary person,' she continued. 'He's so incredibly creative. I feel so fortunate to be able to work with him. This is very different, but I think that he can have sort of a satirical worldview. At the end of the day, he's got so much feeling. We're all very excited about it. I actually just wrapped it last week, last Thursday.' Eisenberg's film follows a shy woman who is unexpectedly cast in a community theater musical production, going to extremes as she loses herself in the role. It is an original comedy starring Moore and Paul Giamatti, with Eisenberg also taking on a role in the film. Additionally, the cast includes Halle Bailey, Havana Rose Liu, Bernadette Peters, Eldar Isgandarov, Bonnie Milligan, Colton Ryan, Lilli Cooper, and Maulik Pancholy. One of Moore's frequent collaborators, Todd Haynes, is in the midst of working on his next project. 'We're very excitedly moving forward on this adaptation of Hernan Diaz's 'Trust,'' he told The Hollywood Reporter in February. 'That's what I'm focusing on right now with Kate Winslet at HBO.' As for whether Moore knows anything about Haynes' project, she told us that she has 'no idea. I texted with him not too long ago. I mean, he's just an amazing person, a truly gifted artist, and I'll be in anything he asks me to be in.' 'Sirens' showrunner Metzler previously was a writer on 'Shameless,' and told IndieWire that being a playwright is very 'similar' to TV writing, as both processes are 'very, very collaborative.' Metzler said, 'When you're playwriting you're usually with the whole team, with someone designing the set and the director and actors and dramaturg. You're all making this thing together, but the person who has to speak for the vision of the show is usually the playwright and you just are very empowered. Your relationship with your director is a true partnership. And is a writer's medium, playwriting. That's what's similar about it is TV is a writer's medium.' 'Sirens' premieres May 22 on Netflix.
