What happened? 📝
Manchester City were at their swaggering best as they hammered Juventus 5-2 in Orlando. Erling Haaland got in on the goals whilst Rayan Cherki looked superb in the City attack.

Elsewhere in Group G, Al Ain won their first game of the competition edging past Wydad 2-1 to send the Moroccans home in ignominy.
Group H was the final foursome to finish and Real Madrid comfortably booked their place in the knockout rounds with a 3-0 victory against Salzburg.
That meant Al Hilal needed three points against Pachuca to qualify, and that's exactly what they did with Salem Aldawsari starring from midfield in a 2-0 win.
Player of the Day 🔥
It was no Kylian Mbappé, no problem for Real Madrid with Vinicius Jnr looking better than ever for Los Blancos.
The Brazil international opened the scoring against Salzburg before brilliantly assisting Federico Valverde for their second.
Stat of the Day 📊
A genuine goal machine ...
What this means 🤔
The group stage is now complete with the tournament entering its last 16 phase.

Manchester City will face Al Hilal in a fascinating encounter on Tuesday evening whilst Miami will host a battle of the European heavyweights between Real Madrid and Juventus.
What they said 🗣️

"We rediscovered a style of play we haven't had in a long time. We had a lot of injuries and we had lost the energy we had. It was very good for us to be together during this time. We played against a strong team today and we did very well. Now we're going to dinner and we'll see who we'll face on Monday." Pep Guardiola, Manchester City coach

"We are delighted with the performance, with the result. Now we have gone through first in the group and we carry on. Juventus are one of the historic teams in Europe, they have a good team and it's going to be really tough." Xabi Alonso, Real Madrid coach
"[Against Manchester City], we just have to play as a team. Like we did against Real Madrid, like we did the last game and today. So we need to do the same. We are playing against, for me, one of the top three teams in the world. I know them very well. They changed a lot of players, but I know them very well, the coach [and] some friends that I have there from Portugal as well. I played against them a few times when I was in England, and it was not easy. But we'll do our best, of course. We will prepare the game like we did on these three games, and let's see what happens." Ruben Neves, Al Hilal midfielder
What's next? 👀
For the first time in almost two weeks we have a break in play which means you can enjoy France taking on Brazil in the women's game later this evening.

Quality Meets Physicality – Inter Milan Show New Identity Under Chivu In Rugged FIFA Club World Cup Win Vs River Plate Inter Milan are starting to show clear signs of a new identity with their Club World Cup group stage win over River Plate. Today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, note how the Nerazzurri looked to use more aggressive physicality to get the best out of their technical quality in the 2-0 victory. Advertisement Inter Milan beat River Plate in their third and final match of the group stage of the Club World Cup. It was not an easy win for the Nerazzurri. But it was their most impressive performance of the three matches they've played under Cristian Chivu as coach. That win sets up a round of sixteen clash with Brazilian giants Fluminense. River Plate brought an intensity to the match that was very much typical of South American football. Advertisement The Argentine side weren't afraid to make highly aggressive challenges. They played right on the line of fouling. But Inter Milan didn't have any problems keeping up with this. They put in tough tackles of their own. This was a platform for the Nerazzurri to win via their superior technical quality in the end.

Brazil Star Reveals Changes From Inzaghi To Chivu At Inter Milan: ‘More Vertical, More Pressing, Not Afraid To Foul'

Brazil Star Reveals Changes From Inzaghi To Chivu At Inter Milan: 'More Vertical, More Pressing, Not Afraid To Foul' Carlos Augusto says that Inter Milan are 'more vertical and aggressive' under Cristian Chivu than they were under Simone Inzaghi. The Brazilian also said that the Nerazzurri 'aren't afraid to foul' speaking to the Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. He then had words of praise for Francesco Pio Esposito and Luis Henrique. Advertisement Inter Milan are still just a few weeks into the new era under Cristian Chivu. The Romanian took over as Nerazzurri coach earlier this month after the shock departure of Simone Inzaghi, who left for the cash offered by Al-Hilal. Naturally, Chivu has not had all that much time to really mould Inter in his own image. The 44-year-old has therefore stuck with a similar formation to that which Inter used for four years under Inzaghi – and, prior to that, for two years under Antonio Conte. Nevertheless, there are shifts in the Nerazzurri's approach evident already. They have now played three matches under Chivu's watch at the Club World Cup. Carlos Augusto: 'Inter Milan More Vertical & Aggressive' Under Cristian Chivu MUNICH, GERMANY – APRIL 08: Carlos Augusto of FC Internazionale controls the ball during the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Quarter Final First Leg match between FC Bayern München and FC Internazionale Milano at Fussball Arena Muenchen on April 08, 2025 in Munich, Germany. (Photo by) Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto gave his insights on the transition under Chivu. 'We haven't had a lot of time to work in training,' he noted. Advertisement 'But we know each other so deeply that it doesn't take a lot for us to connect. Even if we make some changes.' 'The coach makes us feel good together,' Augusto declared. 'And he's gradually bringing slightly different ideas than before,' the Brazilian international added. 'There's more verticality when we win the ball back. More pressure when we lose possession. Maybe even a bit more of an edge, aggression.' 'That's what you saw against River,' Augusto said. 'That's also important. For us to fight without a fear of fouling,' the 26-year-old explained. 'We're trying to feel freer from that point of view as well, because we have the technique to make the difference.' 'Competition Not A Dirty Word' With Dimarco – Pio Esposito 'Mature Enough To Handle The Pressure' MILAN, ITALY – APRIL 12: Federico Dimarco of FC Internazionale acknowledges the fans during the warm up prior to the Serie A match between FC Internazionale and Cagliari at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on April 12, 2025 in Milan, Italy. (Photo by) Meanwhile, Augusto said he has an 'excellent relationship' with fellow left-wingback Federico Dimarco. Advertisement ''Competition' and 'rivalry' aren't dirty words,' said the Brazilian. 'This is Inter, and we need plenty of left-footed players.' 'In fact, we're a beautiful community. Fede, Bastoni, and me. And we also have Acerbi at the back.' And then, Augusto noted that teenage striker Francesco Pio Esposito is 'mature enough that he protects himself from the pressure.' 'We just need the right amount of pressure with him. Not burdening him with too much responsibility.' 'You can't expect that he has to score every match now,' Augusto said of Pio Esposito. Meanwhile, Augusto joked about his new teammate Luis Henrique that 'I read somewhere that he's the more 'Brazilian' Brazilian, and I'm a bit more Swiss.' Advertisement 'Maybe that's the case,' the former Monza wingback said. 'But we're both proud of where we come from.' 'And let's give Luis time. He has the possibility to become a great player. A true Brazilian in fact.'

Today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, hail the Armenian's performance. Advertisement Henrikh Mkhitaryan was once again in the Inter Milan starting eleven against River Plate. The 36-year-old had started Inter's first group stage match against Monterrey. Then, he'd come on at halftime against Japanese team Urawa Red Diamonds. Mkhitaryan has proven to be just as important under Cristian Chivu as he had been under Simone Inzaghi. Therefore, there's every chance of the former Arsenal midfielder continuing to start throughout the knockouts. Inter face Brazilian giants Fluminense in the round of sixteen on Monday. Henrikh Mkhitaryan Praised For Another Top Performance For Inter Vs River Plate BERGAMO, ITALY – APRIL 27: Henrikh Mkhitaryan of FC Internazionale looks on before the Serie A match between Atalanta BC and US Lecce at Gewiss Stadium on April 27, 2025 in Bergamo, Italy.
