New Delhi, Jul 18 (PTI) Around 300 educationists, including vice chancellors of universities, will come together in Kerala to discuss ways to revive 'Indianness' in the country's education system at a four-day meeting to be organised by RSS-linked Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas later this month.
'We have been working to bring a change in education. But it is not possible by the efforts of just one organisation. This four-day Gyan Sabha, from July 25 to July 28, is an effort to bring together all those who are working for change,' he told a press conference here.
Kothari said around 300 educationists, including vice chancellors of various universities, and representatives from different organisations that run schools and higher education institutions will attend the meeting.
Sharing the agenda of the meeting, he said the delegates will discuss various topics, including the 'revival of Indian education (system), identification of elements of Indianness in education and their inclusion in institutional work'.
'Education for a developed India' is another topic to be discussed at the meeting, he said, adding Bhagwat will address the delegates on 'Indianness in education' on July 27.
Kothari said a special session will also be organised to discuss how to improve the quality of education in Kerala. Around 200 educationists from the state are expected to attend the event.
Representatives from organisations like Art of Living, Gayatri Parivaar, Patyanjali, and Vivekanand Yoga Anusandhan Kendra are also expected to attend the meeting, he said.
The four-day meeting will also review the work done by Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas and discuss its future strategy to achieve its goals. PTI PK PK NSD NSD

UP Police raids fake ‘embassy' in Ghaziabad, arrests ‘ambassador' of non-existent West Arctica
The Uttar Pradesh Police have unearthed a fake 'embassy' operating in Ghaziabad and arrested a man claiming to be an 'ambassador' of a non-existent country called 'West Arctica', The Indian Express reported on Wednesday. The arrested man was identified as Harsh Vardhan Jain, a resident of Kavi Nagar in Ghaziabad, PTI reported. Additional Director General of Police Amitabh Yash claimed that Jain was running a bogus embassy from a rented house and projected himself as the diplomatic representative of several non-existent countries such as West Arctica, Saborga, Poulvia and Lodonia, the news agency reported. The accused also moved around in vehicles bearing fake diplomatic number plates, Yash added. Jain reportedly used the setup to pass himself off as a powerful global player. 'He used the guise of diplomacy to influence businessmen, promise them access to international markets, and run a hawala network through shell companies,' The Indian Express quoted the police as saying. Preliminary investigations further suggested that Jain brokered deals by falsely promising job placements for companies and persons in foreign countries, PTI reported. After his arrest on Monday, the police seized four vehicles bearing fake diplomatic number plates, 12 forged diplomatic passports, fake documents bearing Ministry of External Affairs seals, forged PAN cards, rubber stamps of several countries and companies, and fake press cards, PTI reported. The police also said that Rs 44.7 lakh in cash, foreign currency, documents linked to several companies and fake diplomatic number plates were seized. A first information report was filed at the Kavi Nagar Police Station and further investigation was underway, The Indian Express reported. In 2011, Jain had been booked for illegally possessing a satellite phone, PTI reported. He has also been linked to controversial godman Chandraswami and international arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi earlier.

‘Handled with utmost professionalism': India on UK news report claiming wrong bodies returned after Air India crash
India on Wednesday responded to a report by a UK publication claiming that the remains of some British victims of the June 12 Air India crash in Ahmedabad were wrongly identified before repatriation. In a statement issued on Tuesday, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said: 'We have seen the report and have been working closely with the UK side from the moment these concerns and issues were brought to our attention. All mortal remains were handled with utmost professionalism and with due regard for the dignity of the deceased.'
