Chelsea Flower Show garden opens on Hull estate
"We can't quite believe it if we're honest," said Ms Weichardt. "It is such a beautiful space. We come into the garden and we look at it and we're like, oh my god, this is just amazing."There's nothing like this around here and we're just really excited to open the gates to the community."The garden is part of a wider project at the site to overhaul the existing outdoor space for the local community, previously described by Ms Carew as a "concrete jungle".
After appearing at the show in May, the garden was relocated plant-by-plant to Hull where it was reassembled in a space more than double what it had at Chelsea. Designer Nicola Oakey hoped to highlight the plight of the UK songbird and help return the most at risk birds back into our gardens. The garden was inspired by the movement and perspective of a bird, featuring paths winding though layers of bird-friendly plants, which are aimed at helping them feed, shelter and nest. There is a pond to provide water for bathing.
The garden will host a further community day on Tuesday 22 June between 13:00 and 15:00 BST so local residents can "see what all the fuss is about", Ms Carew said."We've been busy planting and building things within the garden, but now we want to open the gates and let everyone enjoy it and get involved. "We're looking for people to make this garden their own as well, to help plan and grow things and be a part of the story."

Jack Osbourne pays heartbreaking tribute to father Ozzy with touching post after Black Sabbath star's cause of death was revealed
Jack Osbourne has paid a heartbreaking tribute to his father Ozzy, just days after he was laid to rest in Buckinghamshire. The Black Sabbath frontman, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019, passed away at the age of 76 on July 22 surrounded by his family. According to his death certificate, the singer died from an 'acute myocardial infarction' and 'out of hospital cardiac arrest'. Speaking on his death for the first time on social media, Jack shared some touching words to remember his father. Jack wrote: 'I haven't really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father. My heart has hurt too much. 'I'm gonna keep this short because he certainly hated long rambling speeches. He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him 'Dad'. Speaking on his death for the first time on social media, Jack shared some touching words to remember his father 'My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude. 'I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing. I think this quote best describes my father. 'Hunter S. Thompson once said: 'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body... but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming,'Wow! What a ride!'' 'That was my dad. He lived and he lived his life fully. I love you dad.'

Horse racing tips: ‘He is best over this trip' – Templegate's Wednesday NAP
TEMPLEGATE'S Wednesday picks are below. Back a horse by clicking their odds. ORCHESTRAL WAVE looks tuned up for victory at Brighton this afternoon (4.15, nap). This son of Kameko has really improved since joining Jack Morland, landing a win and three places from his past four runs. He is best over this trip and was beaten less than a length at Bath last time off this mark. This race is no tougher and he'll be right there. ROBBO (3.45 Brighton, nb) Had plenty in hand when scoring at Goodwood last time when enjoying the drop back to this mile. He gets on well with today's 7lb claimer and can follow up. DUBLIN BAY (6.00 Kempton, treble) May have a hefty 12lb penalty to shoulder but that's because he keeps winning. He scooted home at Doncaster last time and looks hard to stop again. Completes the Lucky 15. She has barely put a foot wrong this season and the handicapper has been fair with a 1lb rise for her neck second at Nottingham. I transformed my rental bathroom with an easy-to-use £11.99 buy, it's gone from bland to pink paradise
A SAVVY woman has shared how she transformed the bathroom in her house with an £11.99 item from TikTok shop. Claudia uploaded a video showing how she turned the room from looking bland and white to be a pink paradise. 3 3 And the best part of her DIY trick is that is it completely 'rental friendly' and isn't a permanent change. On her @claudiagorete account, she wrote: 'I was tired of the white boring bathroom. 'No personality whatsoever. 'Consequently I had no desire to use it for my self care. 'Now it's the perfect space to start doing more self care. 'This is the most girly room in my house.' Claudia showed how she used a pack of stick-on, self-adhesive pink tiles from the site. The 10 inch by 10 inch tiles come in a pack of 10 for £11.00 and are said to be waterproof for bathrooms. All she did was peel off the tiles and then stick them directly to the wall and edge of her bath. The DIY transformation took minutes to achieve but made a huge difference. I used cheap Temu tiles to get a herringbone bathroom while saving for a reno - they're good as new 4 months later Claudia added that she was 'so happy' she made the change and was pleased at her well they stuck. Many people were hugely impressed with the transformation video, which has racked up over 4,000 likes. One said: 'You are the queen of DIY, I am looking up to you for inspiration.' Another added: 'what an incredible transformation.' And a third wrote: 'Girl you killed that wow.' Claudia replied: 'Sometimes all we need it's just a bit of colour.'
