The Met had forecast the early arrival of the monsoon in Delhi. However, all that the city is getting is drizzling or trace-level rain, too low to be recorded in patches. The city didn't receive any rain on Friday.
According to
, the northern limit of the monsoon continues to pass through parts of Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. An anti-cyclonic circulation is barring it from entering Delhi and the surrounding areas of National Capital Region, officials earlier explained.
"Conditions are becoming favourable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon over the remaining parts of the country during the next two-three days," IMD stated.
The southwest monsoon has covered most parts of the country, barring parts of northwest India, including Delhi, parts of west Rajasthan, south Haryana and parts of west UP.
