Clemson dominates USA TODAY Sports' 2025 All-ACC preseason football team list
On Monday, a total of nine Clemson players were named to USA TODAY Sports' All-ACC preseason team. Moreover, Dabo Swinney was named preseason Coach of the Year while quarterback Cade Klubnik was tabbed preseason Player of the Year in the ACC.
The preseason all-conference team was voted on by regional USA TODAY Sports writers who cover the 17 ACC schools. Those writers also made predictions for the 2025 ACC football season with their projected order of finish.
Here's a look at the nine Clemson selections on USA TODAY Sports' All-ACC preseason football team, as well as where the Tigers landed in the network's predicted order of finish.

Granderson: Of course the Lakers' 2020 win counts as a real championship
It's been quite the summer for Lakers jealousy, hasn't it? For example, in July, Bleacher Report left Kobe Bryant — the fourth-leading scorer in NBA history — off its Top 10 all-time player list. In June, when the Buss family sold the franchise to Mark Walter for a historic $10 billion, Lakers haters immediately took to social media to say which teams were worth more. Now we are in August, and every NBA TV show and podcast has a segment to address the comments Philadelphia 76ers executive Daryl Morey made to the Athletic about the Lakers' 2020 NBA championship against the Miami Heat: 'Had the Rockets won the title, I absolutely would have celebrated it as legitimate, knowing the immense effort and resilience required.… Yet, everyone I speak to around the league privately agrees that it doesn't truly hold up as a genuine championship.' Given the historic circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic that year, to view that championship as 'less than' because teams did not travel during it and fans were not present is akin to discounting NFL championships or World Series titles won during World War II because the rosters were thinner because of enlistments. Morey suggested that victory should come with an asterisk as if the playoffs during a once-in-a-century global pandemic were not as challenging as in typical years. Different dynamic, yes — but easier? He has since walked his comments back, but you know what they say about genies and bottles. Besides, it's not as if he's alone in his Lakers disrespect. There are plenty of fans and former players who are quick to point out what the team did not do in that postseason because they don't appreciate what that championship required. Beginning with courage. It's been nearly five years since the Lakers won title No. 17 inside the $200-million logistics behemoth referred to as the Bubble, so maybe some of us forgot the details. Infectious disease experts, the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, the league office, the players' union, ESPN and many other corporations all came together during a time when we had far more questions about COVID than answers. From when NBA play stopped in March 2020 to when play inside the Bubble began that July, the country had lost more than 140,000 people to the disease. When bubble play ended in October, it was above 206,000, and many cities were running out of places to store the dead. Far too often we forget that fame and fortune do not protect a person from problems or heartache. We forget that being a professional athlete does not protect you from the rest of the shared human experience. All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns lost his mother to COVID that April and seven other relatives over the course of the pandemic. Towns, who turns 30 in November, was himself hospitalized in early 2021 because of the virus. You're not supposed to put an asterisk on a sports championship won during the worst of times. You're supposed to use an exclamation point to honor the mental and emotional dexterity it took. The months of isolation — away from family and friends, away from the routines that made them the athletes they are. Daily testing to guarantee the safety of other players as well as coaches and administrative staff. And while not having to travel to a hostile arena nullified the 'road game' in the playoffs, it also took away 'home court' from a Lakers team that had the best record in the Western Conference. A team that had just beat the other two title favorites — the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers — less than a week before the world shut down. One day, Morey is going to look back on his comments about the Lakers title in the Bubble with shame. Not because he's wrong in reporting the disrespect others in the league have expressed but because he chose to give that rhetoric oxygen. For the first time ever, an MLB game is being held at the center of a race track. The Braves and Reds will face off in the 2025 MLB Speedway Classic, a specialty game that is expected to break the league's single-game attendance record. Baseball will be meeting motorsports, as the teams will face off on a field that was constructed inside a stadium that was built for NASCAR races. Location: Bristol, Tennessee The MLB Speedway Classic will be played in Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn. Known as "The Last Great Colosseum," the venue first opened in 1961 and has been holding NASCAR races for decades. However, this isn't the first non-racing event held at Bristol Motor Speedway. In 1961, an exhibition NFL game between Washington and Philadelphia was held in the stadium. Additionally, two college football games in 2013 were played there; the first was a Tennessee-Virginia Tech matchup in 2013, and the other was between East Tennessee State and Western Carolina. Not only will the MLB game be historic for taking place in the environment of a race track, but it will also be the league's first-ever game in Tennessee. Bristol Motor Speedway holds a capacity of 146,000, so, MLB should have room for plenty of fans, which is one of the reasons why the game is expected to break the all-time attendance record of 84,587. MLB announced it was "set to break" that record with more than 85,000 tickets sold as of July 28. The diamond for the game itself was built across the track and infield of the speedway, with artificial turf instead of natural grass, and the dimensions are 330 feet to each foul pole, 375 feet to the right-field alley, 384 feet to the left-field alley, and 400 feet to straightaway center, per MLB's official announcement.

Notre Dame had its second fall practice and here are some clips shared on social media
There wasn't much shared early on Friday of Notre Dame football's second practice of the fall, but we did get to see an impressive clip of running back Jeremiyah Love looking very shifty going through a speed drill. Luckily, as the day went by, more short videos were shared on social media, some of them featuring your favorite Irish players. While the media members who shared them didn't get to see all of the action, they got enough to wet our whistle for Notre Dame football. Below you'll see a focus on the quarterbacks, more drill work, and a multiple true freshman that could turn some heads. The competition we are all paying attention to, the quarterbacks There isn't another more important fall competition than at quarterback, and it very much seems like Notre Dame's social media team knows that as well. Kenny Minchey got the rep from the full team scrimmage in the clip, and threw a very pretty ball to KK Smith, albeit with the second-team. The No. 10 that you see in the bottom right corner of the first set, yeah, that Tyler Buchner. He's shown he's the epitome of a team player for Notre Dame, as his experience will help the younger players get acclimated to this level. Buchner isn't in consideration for the starting job, but you'll see him on special teams and maybe a trick play or two. The freshman corners If you are good enough to see the field as a true freshman, head coach Marcus Freeman won't be afraid to put you on the field. We have seen many young Irish players getting plenty of early run in their careers, and both Dallas Golden and Mark Zackery could join that group. Last year, we saw Leonard Moore shine as a first-year player, and there are plenty of opportunities to make a mark in Notre Dame's secondary. Jaden Greathouse has another level Greathouse used the College Football Playoff to showcase that he could be an elite talent, but he may just be scratching his surface of what he can be. So far, it's been consistency holding him back, and after getting a taste of top-end success, it may have motivated Greathouse to take it to the next level. If he has added some speed to his already impressive skill set, he could end up being the No. 1 wide receiver the Irish have been looking for. The running back room is even deeper James was one of the last 2025 signees to make his commitment to Notre Dame, but he was worth the effort to flip him from Boston College. Although not highly ranked, he sure looks the part of a future difference maker at running back. It might be a little while before we see him on the field though, as Jeremiyah Love, Jadarian Price and Aneyas Willams most likely won't be jumped on the depth chart. James is the future at the position, and still could get some carries later in blowouts, without burning a redshirt year.
