Malusi Gigaba finally addresses Norma's claims on Untied -‘It's emotional abuse'
When his ex-wife, Norma Mngoma, aired the details of what led to their divorce on an episode of Untied with Relebogile Mabotja, social media went into a frenzy. Norma sat down to air her marriage troubles in a highly anticipated interview on Untied on Showmax, which aired after a failed court attempt by South African politician Malusi Gigaba to block its release. She alleged that while being married to Malusi, she endured years of infidelity and emotional abuse. She also alleged that Malusi had a pornography addiction and often misused government devices, she also likened him to P Diddy, claiming that he always packed baby oil when he travelled. 'The fact that somebody has made allegations does not make those allegations true,' he said. He stated that he refuses to address the allegations because he is protecting his family. 'Members of the public may be interested in the fist fight, but the dignity of your children has to matter most, and to me it matters most; that's why I'm not responding to this.' 'It's emotional abuse, mental abuse, but you've got to mature enough as an adult, as a father. It's unfortunate when such types of allegations are made.' Malusi is the former Minister of Home Affairs and a former member of parliament under the African National Congress (ANC), and he is no stranger to controversy outside of his government roles and personal life. At the peak of his career, the South African politician was married to Norma Mngoma and was once seen as a 'power couple'. News of their divorce came after multiple cheating scandals and an alleged sex tape that was circulating on social media. Their marriage struggles became public, so much so that after their split, Norma testified at the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture with claims of him being deeply involved with the Gupta family.
