£70 Zara dress that 'looks great with a tan' looks 'just like' designer style
Zara shoppers have fallen for a 'classy' black dress they love for weddings and special occasions
Zara has delighted shoppers with a "gorgeous" black dress that's been compared to a designer style. Fashion fans loved the £69.99 Halter Ruffle Long Dress when it was showcased on TikTok by @thescousestylists. Georgina and Jess, who are known for sharing styling tips on the account, dedicated a video to Zara's dress.
In the popular post, they said: "I just love this. I think if you've got a special event coming up, it's gorgeous." They praised the "fab" dipped hem, suggesting "it would be lovely on holiday" or for a special occasion. The pair thought the dress would look stunning with gold accessories.
"I just love all the ruffles on it," they said. They added that it would look "very nice" with a tan. The duo thought it could be an ideal pick for weddings, as black is an increasingly popular choice for guests, provided it doesn't clash with the couple's colour scheme.
Shoppers loved the dress. A viewer replied: "That's a gorgeous dress!" An excited commenter added: "Classy!!" Someone else said the style reminded them of another brand's dresses. The comment explained: "They've similar allsaints over £230!" While it wasn't clear which style the shopper meant, they could have been referencing AllSaints' £279 Sienna Ruffled Maxi Dress.
While there are differences between the dresses, there are arguably many similarities. Both black maxi dresses have a similar silhouette, with a high-low skirt and ruffle detailing.
You could likely wear either dress to the same event with the same styling choices. In the product images, both brands modelled their dresses with matching black shoes, though Zara opted for wedge sandals while AllSaints opted for black cowboy boots.
However, it's worth noting that the Zara dress has a halter neck shape. In contrast, the pricier style has an asymmetrical design with an off-the-shoulder sleeve.
There are also fabric differences. Zara's product description reads "Halter neck long dress with buttons. Ruffle detail. Inner lining. Asymmetric hem. Side zip fastening concealed in the seam." Both the lining and the outer shell are 100% polyester.
AllSaints' product description reads: "We've got a thing for ruffles this season. Our statement Sienna Dress is full of volume and layered with five heavily ruffled tiers that create a high-low hem.
"A bit of drama, but always playful – we love this dress for all seasons." The lining is 100% recycled polyester, while the shell is 74% lyocell and 26% polyamide.
AllSaints also offers a Nat Ruffled High Low Maxi Dress, which has a high-low skirt but presents a different look thanks to its long sleeves, on sale for £167 from £279. There's also a £229 Cavarly Tiered Ruffle Maxi Dress with a scooped neckline and high-low detailing.
Regardless of which dress shoppers prefer, both the full-priced styles offer Zara shoppers a significant saving on a similar style. Zara's dress is almost £160 cheaper than the Cavarly Tiered Ruffle Maxi Dress and over £200 cheaper than the Sienna Ruffled Maxi Dress.
Zara also offers a selection of ruffle dresses, but they don't share the high-low feature. For instance, there's a £99.99 Long Ruffled Dress - ZW Collection and a 39.99 Metallic Thread Midi Camisole Dress, which offer a different take on the maxi dress style.
Unfortunately, the Zara dress is currently out of stock in most sizes online. However, shoppers can locate their nearest Zara store here.

Decision behind Sam Thompson and Zara's split amid Louis Tomlinson run-in
Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson and ex Zara McDermott split earlier this year and now Zara's new beau Louis Tomlinson is set to come face to face with Sam again this weekend Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott split earlier this year - and now he faces an awkward run in with her new man. The former Love Island star turned documentary maker is now dating One Direction star Louis Tomlinson. In awkward timing, fresh from their split earlier this year, Sam, 32, is playing in the Soccer Aid game this weekend alongside the singer, 33, after they went public with their new romance. The pair have been spotted together multiple times. As they prepare for another awkward run in this weekend - having trained together this week - people have been looking back at Sam and 28 year old Zara's romance as they rumbled the real reason for their split. One person, whose comment had more than 300 upvotes, said at the time: "A shame but not surprising. I always found it odd how much they talked about wanting to get married one day but never got engaged. I always sensed Sam wasn't sure." Another fan agreed, saying: "This is it for me for two people who seemed so committed to show themselves as happy and healthy they did not seem in any rush to get engaged and married. That's always a sign things probably aren't going as well as they want to make everyone believe," whilst one said: "It's common when you meet young to wait a bit to get married." Just last year, Sam, admitted he felt "no pressure" to wed Zara, whilst she said she'd love to tie the knot. "I'm so happy being with the person I know I'm going to spend the rest of my life with, I don't see any sort of rush at all. We speak about marriage a lot, but there's no pressure to put a ring on it," he said at the time. Following the split, a source told OK! that Sam and Zara were "devastated" by their split. The insider said: "Although they have known it's been over for a while, Sam and Zara are both devastated and heartbroken that they couldn't make it work as they had so much love for each other. When they had problems in the summer they vowed to give it one more try and hoped that they could work through their issues, but it proved impossible as they were just at different stages in their lives." Sam also gave a heartbreaking interview later where he said people could "see a sadness behind his eyes". "I went through a breakup and everyone keeps saying they can see sadness behind the eyes," he said, "I'm terrified about where I am going. The way I see it, I am a plane and the pilot has passed out in the cockpit, and they are like: 'Does anyone know how to fly?'" Asked what he was doing for self love, he said: "Not much, to be honest with you. I suppose a lot of people look for validation in other people, and they look for the other person instantly to fill that hole. I can't do that."

Full list of biggest EuroMillions wins ahead of tonight's £208,000,000 draw
Someone could become the UK's biggest ever lottery winner tonight after the EuroMillions jackpot rolled over yet again. It follows Tuesday's draw where nobody won the top prize, which in itself was a rollover after several draws where nobody matched all five numbers and the two lucky stars. The EuroMillions jackpot will no longer increase as it rolls over, meaning the top prize is sitting at a massive £208million. Several UK ticket holders have scooped staggering jackpots in the past, with some like Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester going public, while others decided to remain anonymous. Here, we take a look at the UK's 10 biggest wins since EuroMillions begun in 2004. As it stands, the biggest lottery win in the UK was in July 2022, when an anonymous ticket holder scooped £195,707,000. Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Gloucester, scooped a then record-breaking £184,262,899 with a Lucky Dip ticket for the draw on May 10 2022. At the time, Joe was a communications sales engineer, and Jess ran a hairdressing salon with her sister. Joe saw they'd won when he woke early the next morning. He said: 'I saw how much and I didn't know what to do. 'I couldn't go back to sleep, I didn't want to wake Jess up so I just laid there for what seemed like forever. 'I spent some time searching for property with no budget limit, which was a novelty!' When the alarm finally rang, Joe turned to Jess and said: 'I've got a secret, I've got something to tell you.' A single-ticket holder, who chose to remain anonymous, won the £177,033,699 jackpot for the draw on November 26 2024. The winner became immediately wealthier than popstar Dua Lipa, who is worth an estimated £104 million, and Michael Buble, worth around £63 million. Another person who chose to remain anonymous scooped £171,815,297 in the September 23 2022 draw. At the time this was the country's third biggest National Lottery win. Or more accurately, an expert from the National Lottery has revealed what doesn't help you to win the jackpot. The Midlands is the luckiest region in the UK, as more than 1,000 people have become millionaires there since the National Lottery was launched in 1994. But hold your horses if you're considering packing your bags and moving, because as only about 5% of big winners share their news, their locations don't provide the full picture. Here are some other suspicions which don't impact your chances of winning: Buying a ticket in a shop rather than online Choosing 'overdue' numbers Only playing on a certain day How many other people have bought tickets Only playing when there's a lower jackpot Using the same set of 'lucky' numbers every time The fifth biggest winner of the National Lottery to date scooped £170 million in 2019 after matching all the numbers in a Must Be Won draw on October 8. Colin and Chris Weir, from Largs, North Ayrshire, became the UK's biggest lottery winners the time after winning £162,653,000 on July 12 2011. Colin used £2.5 million of his fortune to invest in his beloved Patrick Thistle Football Club, which led to one of the stands at the stadium being named after him. The former TV camera man later acquired a 55% shareholding in the club, which was to be passed into the hands of the local community upon his death. The couple, who set up the Weir Charitable Trust in 2013 and donated £1 million to the Scottish independence referendum in 2014, divorced in 2019. They had been married 38 years. Colin died of sepsis and an acute kidney injury a few months later at the age of 71. Adrian and Gillian won £148,656,000 in a EuroMillions draw on August 10, 2012. The couple bought a Grade II-listed estate in Cambridgeshire, complete with cinema and billiards room, but it was sold in 2021, some years after the pair divorced. Gillian now has a conviction for threatening her ex-boyfriend, domestic abuse charity worker Gavin Innes, who she pushed and shouted at in 2017. She then married convicted fraudster Brian Deans, before ending their relationship, claiming he asked for more and more money after blowing the monthly allowance she gave him on cars, watches and trips with friends. Adrian, meanwhile, started a relationship with ex-horse groom Samantha Burbidge, a woman 16 years younger than him, in 2017. He also dated waitress Lisa Kemp, but she dumped him after discovering saucy messages sent to his ex Marta Jarosz. More Trending In 2019, Adrian said he ate 50 Cornish pasties delivered to his mansion each week to cope with his loneliness. One ticket holder got lucky with a Superdraw rollover jackpot of £123,458,008 on June 11 2019, and decided to remain anonymous. Another ticket holder scooped more than £122 million in April 2021, but didn't go public. And the 10th biggest lottery winner in the UK won their fortune in April 2018, and chose to remain anonymous.
