£70 Zara dress that 'looks great with a tan' looks 'just like' designer style

Zara shoppers have fallen for a 'classy' black dress they love for weddings and special occasions Zara has delighted shoppers with a "gorgeous" black dress that's been compared to a designer style. Fashion fans loved the £69.99 Halter Ruffle Long Dress when it was showcased on TikTok by @thescousestylists. Georgina and Jess, who are known for sharing styling tips on the account, dedicated a video to Zara's dress. In the popular post, they said: "I just love this. I think if you've got a special event coming up, it's gorgeous." They praised the "fab" dipped hem, suggesting "it would be lovely on holiday" or for a special occasion. The pair thought the dress would look stunning with gold accessories. ‌ "I just love all the ruffles on it," they said. They added that it would look "very nice" with a tan. The duo thought it could be an ideal pick for weddings, as black is an increasingly popular choice for guests, provided it doesn't clash with the couple's colour scheme. ‌ Shoppers loved the dress. A viewer replied: "That's a gorgeous dress!" An excited commenter added: "Classy!!" Someone else said the style reminded them of another brand's dresses. The comment explained: "They've similar allsaints over £230!" While it wasn't clear which style the shopper meant, they could have been referencing AllSaints' £279 Sienna Ruffled Maxi Dress. While there are differences between the dresses, there are arguably many similarities. Both black maxi dresses have a similar silhouette, with a high-low skirt and ruffle detailing. You could likely wear either dress to the same event with the same styling choices. In the product images, both brands modelled their dresses with matching black shoes, though Zara opted for wedge sandals while AllSaints opted for black cowboy boots. However, it's worth noting that the Zara dress has a halter neck shape. In contrast, the pricier style has an asymmetrical design with an off-the-shoulder sleeve. There are also fabric differences. Zara's product description reads "Halter neck long dress with buttons. Ruffle detail. Inner lining. Asymmetric hem. Side zip fastening concealed in the seam." Both the lining and the outer shell are 100% polyester. ‌ AllSaints' product description reads: "We've got a thing for ruffles this season. Our statement Sienna Dress is full of volume and layered with five heavily ruffled tiers that create a high-low hem. "A bit of drama, but always playful – we love this dress for all seasons." The lining is 100% recycled polyester, while the shell is 74% lyocell and 26% polyamide. ‌ AllSaints also offers a Nat Ruffled High Low Maxi Dress, which has a high-low skirt but presents a different look thanks to its long sleeves, on sale for £167 from £279. There's also a £229 Cavarly Tiered Ruffle Maxi Dress with a scooped neckline and high-low detailing. Regardless of which dress shoppers prefer, both the full-priced styles offer Zara shoppers a significant saving on a similar style. Zara's dress is almost £160 cheaper than the Cavarly Tiered Ruffle Maxi Dress and over £200 cheaper than the Sienna Ruffled Maxi Dress. Zara also offers a selection of ruffle dresses, but they don't share the high-low feature. For instance, there's a £99.99 Long Ruffled Dress - ZW Collection and a 39.99 Metallic Thread Midi Camisole Dress, which offer a different take on the maxi dress style. Unfortunately, the Zara dress is currently out of stock in most sizes online. However, shoppers can locate their nearest Zara store here.
