Bier Brewery's South Simcoe is an IPA for summer sipping

I am a big fan of IPAs, but I struggle with the typically high ABVs (6.5% or higher). The intrigue: I have found the perfect, not-as-strong IPA that you can comfortably sip all summer. And no, it's not a session IPA, which usually have lower ABVs but (in my opinion) often aren't as good. Brew of the week: Bier Brewery's South Simcoe, a hazy American IPA with 5% ABV and 40 IBU. Bier describes South Simcoe as having "a juicy mango and pineapple finish." My take: It has a lightly fruity taste, but neither of those flavors are overpowering. If a hazy IPA is not your thing, I also recommend the Little Baddie — Bier's west coast pale ale that also clocks in at only 5% ABV. Pro tip: Bier has three locations in the Indy area — 65th Street, Carmel and Noblesville — but go enjoy a beverage at their massive outdoor space with patio tables, fire pits, a playground for kids, bocce courts, cornhole and a dog park in Noblesville.

The Russell Wilson trait that can transform the Giants offense

Darius Slayton's comments were telling. He did not mention Daniel Jones by name when describing Russell Wilson's deep-ball ability. But as the longest-tenured Giant (tied with Dexter Lawrence), having played pretty much his whole career with Jones as his quarterback, there's really nobody else with whom he has significant experience in the NFL. And he already notices an important difference with Wilson.

WATCH: Is Josh Allen the NFL's best quarterback entering 2025?

WATCH: Is Josh Allen the NFL's best quarterback entering 2025? Ranking the quarterbacks across the NFL is always a popular offseason debate because it brings on arguments of people standing up for their favorite team's signal caller. As for who the best quarterback in the NFL is, well there hasn't been much of a debate in recent years. With the success of the Kansas City Chiefs under head coach Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes has been undeniable as the league's top dog. But, that has changed over the last year. It's not like Mahomes has fallen off a cliff, but his performance over the last couple years hasn't been up to par with the electric start to his NFL career. And so, guys like Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow have caught up to him in terms of individual performance, and they have probably surpassed him at this point. Allen makes the best argument for the new ringleader among NFL QBs. He hasn't gotten past Mahomes' Chiefs in the postseason yet (0-4 in his career), but his individual play has surpassed Mahomes. Allen took home the league's MVP in 2024 after leading the Buffalo Bills to a 13-4 record in a season which many thought they would be going through a slight rebuild. Instead, he led the team to the AFC title game after posting his fifth-straight 40-touchdown season (no NFL QB has accomplished this feat in more than three straight seasons). For a few years, the only knock on Allen was that he committed too many turnovers. Not only did he clean that up in 2024 (only six on the year), but he kept his high-level of playmaking and still made everyone around him better. This is why declaring Allen as the NFL's best QB is picking up steam. Pro Football Focus' Sam Monson is the latest to say Allen is the best in the land right now, saying, "I think Allen's the guy right now." Watch the clip from Monson below:
