Clouded times
My name is Bibliodander and I love to read books. But sadly, I do not have many books at home, and I can't go to a library. Why? Because I am a monster and monsters cannot be seen. They can only hide under beds at night. So that's when I get to read.
After a long break, I am back. This summer, I have been hearing many people say 'Ah, climate change' for almost anything. If it gets too hot, they say, climate change. If it rains too much, again they say, climate change. So, after hearing so much about this, I decided to do some research on my own. Thus began my foray into books on the environment. Yesterday, after all the heavy reading, I chanced upon this book called A Cloud Called Bhura by Bijal Vachharajani. Wait, so now clouds have names?
This is the story about four friends: Amni, Tammy, Mithil, and Andrew who live in Mumbai. One morning, they wake up to find a big brown cloud in the sky. No one knows where it has come from and what it is made up of. Soon, news of the brown cloud is being reported on the TV channel Khabar Bhayankar. The lead anchor Vaatodiyo Bahuche names the cloud Bhura Cloudus, because of its deep brown colour. The only topic of conversation for everyone is Bhura. Motabhai, the politician, says the opposition is using Bhura to defame their government. Scientists Vidisha and Bidisha are confused and are trying their best to find out more about it.
Trouble brews
The common people are worried about the cloud and the harm it can do to their lives. However, Bhura stays up in the sky and people continue with their lives. But that's not actually true. Little by little, Bhura begins to create trouble for the people. Temperatures rise, visibility is low, flights are cancelled, and people develop breathing difficulty. Things begin to get even worse when there is water shortage and frequent electricity cuts.
One day, when Tammy takes her Nanu for a walk, he becomes breathless and takes to his bed. Now, everyone wears a mask as soon as they step out of their houses. Birds and animals disappear from the city. Even Mithil's pet dog, Chapati, begins to act weird.
Mithil's mother works for a newspaper and she manages to take Amni, Mithil, and Tammy to an important meeting about Bhura. But just before the meeting is about to begin, insects attack the venue. People rush out causing a stampede. However, the children get to meet Vidisha, the scientist.
The kids feel that the elders are not getting their act together to fight Bhura. So, they band together and invite other kids to join them. They decide to fight Bhura. Will they succeed?

They now have the opportunity to secure the Cup at home in Sunrise during Game 6 on Tuesday night. Unlike previous matches in the final, Panthers established and maintained a substantial lead. Sergei Bobrovsky demonstrated solid performance, saving 19 of 21 shots, supported by effective defensive play that restricted the Oilers' movement. The offensive contributions came from Marchand, Bennett and Sam Reinhart. Marchand achieved a notable milestone, joining Mario Lemieux as the only players in 50 years to score five-plus goals in multiple finals, while accumulating 13 career final goals, the highest among current players. Connor McDavid scored his first goal of the series after the Oilers fell 3-0 behind. Reinhart responded 46 seconds afterwards, restoring Panthers' three-goal advantage. Corey Perry's goal with 3:13 remaining proved Luostarinen confirmed the victory with an empty-net goal at 1:19, quietening the home Oilers' power play was unsuccessful in three attempts, as Panthers' aggressive penalty kill disrupted McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and their primary unit's usual effectiveness. Calvin Pickard experienced his first defeat in eight starts this spring, conceding four goals from 18 shots. He replaced Stuart Skinner after winning Game 4 as a substitute, moving his record to 7-1 from 7-0.

Investing in metals: Will silver surpass its 2011 all-time high?
A growing chorus of influential market voices believes it's not a matter of if, but when silver will hit its all-time high of $50 (€44) an ounce — a level not seen since April 2011. The precious metal surged to nearly $37 (€32) this week, a new 13-year high, securing a remarkable 10% gain in the first 10 days of June alone, in a rally that has caught global investor attention. The $50 threshold is now increasingly seen as a logical target, with both technical and macroeconomic conditions aligning in silver's favour. Could this be just the beginning of silver's strongest bull run in over a decade? The case for silver's resurgence is being championed by several market analysts and institutional voices on Wall Street, who have argued that a combination of structural and cyclical factors is propelling the metal's rally momentum. Otavio Costa, macro strategist at Crescat Capital, recently pointed out that silver has historically followed gold's performance. 'We are likely in the early stages of a new secular bull market for the metal,' Costa recently wrote in a post on social media X, noting that silver typically lags gold in the early stages of a precious metals rally before outperforming later on. The gold-to-silver ratio — an indicator of how many ounces of silver are required to buy one ounce of gold — has fallen sharply, breaking from historically elevated levels near 100. 'This move is likely just the beginning,' Costa observed, as investment starts flowing from gold into silver, and eventually into early-stage mining equities. 'A test of the all-time highs near $50 is within scope as positioning and momentum are not yet stretched,' said Bank of America's technical analyst Paul Ciana in a recent note. Rashad Hajiyev, macro investor and commentator, suggested that silver's June breakout could conservatively point to $60 (€52). "2010 and 2020 breakouts resulted in 150% and 60% gains, respectively, over eight months and one month," he wrote. "With gold prices headed towards $3,600 and the average gold-to-silver ratio at 60, $60 silver is a legitimate target.' Investor interest in silver's monetary role has resurged in recent months, driven by growing concerns over the US administration's ability to manage the escalating federal debt. Confidence in traditional US safe-haven assets has weakened, with both US Treasury bonds and the dollar losing ground in 2025 — an atypical development during a period of global economic uncertainty, when these instruments would typically attract demand. Gold has been the first mover to reflect mounting concerns over US fiscal sustainability, gaining more than 25% year-to-date and outperforming all major asset classes in 2025. Silver may be next to follow, attracting investors seeking hard assets that cannot be debased by an expanding supply of money. What's different this time is the acceleration in industrial demand for silver, especially from the clean energy sector. Related Gold's record rally stalls on hopes of easing global trade tensions Is Trump destroying the dollar - and what does it mean for the euro? As the Silver Institute highlighted, silver is one of the world's best electrical conductors, making it indispensable in the production of solar panels, electric vehicles (EVs), and microelectronics. Notably, the solar sector's demand for silver has soared, doubling from 12% of total demand in 2022 to 25% in 2024. Sprott projects that by 2030, annual silver demand for solar applications could rise to 370 million ounces, up from 220 million today. According to Katusa Research, the current market environment exhibits all three of what it calls 'Buffett's critical silver signals': a deepening supply deficit, stagnant production, and plummeting above-ground stockpiles. These indicators, they argue, historically precede explosive silver rallies. A reversal of the economic and geopolitical anxieties that gripped markets in 2025 could dampen silver's appeal as a monetary hedge. Should the Trump administration signal credible efforts to rein in its ballooning budget deficit, the sell-off in Treasuries might stabilise — or even reverse — restoring investor confidence in the dollar and reducing the urgency to seek alternatives like gold or silver. Still, structural demand for silver, particularly from the electric vehicle and solar industries, is likely to persist. This could provide a foundation for continued price support, albeit at a more moderate pace than if US economic dominance remained under heightened scrutiny. Sort PM pick first before calling for Anwar to quit, PH Youth tells PAS
PH Youth chief Woo Kah Leong claimed that PAS is using the rally to show its dominance over Bersatu and to strengthen its position within PN. (Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : Pakatan Harapan Youth has mocked PAS Youth for turning a planned protest against the Urban Renewal Act (URA) into one calling for the prime minister's resignation. PH Youth chief Woo Kah Leong said such a protest was 'laughable' when Perikatan Nasional (PN) cannot even agree on who's their own candidate for the top job. He added that the Islamic party and its coalition partners, Bersatu and Gerakan, remain divided on who should succeed Anwar, should PN win the next general election (GE16). 'Has PN officially decided on whether (PAS president) Abdul Hadi Awang, (Bersatu president) Muhyiddin Yassin, or (Bersatu deputy president) Hamzah Zainudin is their pick for prime minister?' he asked in a statement today. Woo claimed the rebranded July 27 rally – initially announced as a protest against the URA – is nothing more than political theatre by PAS to demonstrate its dominance within PN while keeping Bersatu in check. 'In reality, PN is fragmented and lacks comprehensive administrative policies, be it at the federal level or in the four states it governs,' he said, referring to Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah and Perlis, where all the menteris besar are from PAS. 'It can't even decide on a prime minister candidate. Instead of chanting 'Turun Anwar', PN should focus on having an internal meeting to make that decision.' PAS Youth first announced the rally in February, warning that the proposed URA could lead to the displacement of certain communities. The bill is expected to be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat next month. However, PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden yesterday announced that the wing decided to 'rebrand' the rally to one demanding that Anwar step down, called 'Turun Anwar'. The issue of PN's prime ministerial candidate is still subject to ongoing discussions within the coalition. PAS has not officially acknowledged Muhyiddin as the candidate, suggesting that it might prefer one of its leaders, as the party is the largest bloc in PN with 43 parliamentary seats. However, Bersatu vice-president Ahmad Faizal Azumu was reported to have said Muhyiddin remains PN's sole candidate for the prime minister's position at GE16.
