Lokesh calls for focus on innovation
Minister Lokesh observed, "We are ready to work with top industrialists and educators to make Andhra Pradesh the Innovation Valley of India." Sizing up the potential of RTIH, Lokesh said: "This is not just a building; it is a beacon of hope for millions of youth in the state, a declaration of faith, and a promise that Andhra Pradesh can achieve anything." He dedicated the hub to the high moral values and great personality of late Ratan Tata.
Lokesh recalled Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's role in putting Hyderabad on the world map and expressed his desire to replicate that success story in Andhra Pradesh.
Lokesh extended his gratitude to Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran for agreeing to chair the AP Investments Task Force Committee.
The Minister clarified that innovation is not limited to IT-based technologies but should occur in all sectors, from villages to a global scale. Lokesh assured that the state government is ready to assist young innovators. "We have industry giants like Amar Raja Batteries, Greenko, Jindal, Adani, and the Tata Group with us, who are ready to mentor and guide your ideas to the next stage," he said.
Referring the Chandrababu Naidu's vision, Lokesh said: "Just as he previously aimed for an IT professional in every home, today the CM wants to see an entrepreneur from every one of the 1.3 crore families in the state. Young Ministers like me are ready to provide all necessary support under his leadership."
Lokesh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's national initiatives like Startup India and Standup India. "With the support of schemes like 'Make in India' and a proactive 'double-engine government,' Andhra Pradesh will become an innovation hub for the entire country," Minister Lokesh opined.
Ministers Nadendla Manohar and TG Bharath, Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, Bharat Forge chairman Baba Kalyani, Amara Raja Group chairman Galla Jayadev, AP Industries Secretary Yuvraj and IT Secretary Katamaneni Bhaskar also attended the inauguration.

Rotimatic launches next-gen AI-powered roti maker in India
Agency: Last Updated: Bengaluru, Aug 21 (PTI) Rotimatic, a smart kitchen appliance powered by robotics and artificial intelligence that makes fresh rotis hands-free in 90-110 seconds, on Thursday announced its India debut with the launch of its next-generation model, Rotimatic NEXT. While the company is headquartered in Singapore, its manufacturing unit has been shifted to the Bengaluru–Mysuru region to cater to both global and Indian markets, it said. Founded in 2008 by mechanical engineer Pranoti Nagarkar and software engineer Rishi Israni, Rotimatic has entered more than one lakh homes across the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, the Middle East and other regions, with over 250 million rotis made to date, the company said. Marking its official India launch, Rotimatic NEXT will be available exclusively through a direct-to-consumer model via the company's official website. Punjab Governor lauds role of startups in shaping India's future
Chandigarh: Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria on Thursday lauded the role of startups in shaping India's economic and technological future. Speaking at a start-up conclave organised here at the CII Northern Region Headquarters that saw vibrant participation from budding entrepreneurs, incubators, investors, and representatives of the corporate and academic sectors, the Governor said India has now emerged as the third largest startup ecosystem in the world -- a remarkable feat that reflects the power of innovation and youth-led enterprise. The initiatives like 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat', 'Make in India', and 'Digital India' have provided the necessary foundation and ecosystem to support startups, enabling them to dream big and scale globally. Governor Kataria commended the proactive approach of the Chandigarh administration in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation through a robust start-up policy. He also encouraged the youth to take full advantage of the enabling environment, especially in a region that enjoys unique advantages like high literacy, excellent connectivity, and premier educational institutions. He called upon young entrepreneurs to take inspiration from India's vision of 'Viksit Bharat @2047', and channel their innovations towards solving real-world challenges, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, education, urban mobility, sustainable development, and agriculture. The Governor also emphasised the need for collaboration between government bodies, industry partners, and academic institutions to create a supportive innovation ecosystem. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Industries), elaborated on Chandigarh's startup policy, highlighting that over 600 startups are registered with DPIIT from the city. He underlined Chandigarh's geographic and administrative advantages, proximity to the northern region trade zone, and the contribution of premier institutions like PEC, PGIMER, and IIT Ropar as incubators that support the startup journey from ideation to commercialisation. He said the policy focuses on both startups and incubators and provides support across stages, seed, early growth, and market entry, to strengthen the startup ecosystem. Officials of the CII also participated in the deliberations, reaffirming their commitment to providing strategic mentorship, market access, and incubation support to emerging ventures.

India-Russia ties steadiest after World War II, says S Jaishankar
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday said that India and Russia have been 'the steadiest of the major relationships in the world after the Second World War", underlining the long-standing and resilient partnership between the two countries. The minister made the remark during a joint presser with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow. "We reaffirmed our shared ambition to expand bilateral trade in a balanced and sustainable manner, including by increasing India's exports to Russia. This requires swiftly addressing non-tariff barriers and regulatory impediments, enhancing India's exports to Russia in sectors like agriculture, pharma, and textiles will certainly help correct the imbalance," Jaishankar was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. He also underlined the importance of sustaining energy cooperation between the two nations through trade and investments. "Our defence and military technical cooperation also remains robust. Russia supports India's 'Make in India' goals, including joint production and technology transfer," the minister added. Jaishankar is on a three-day visit to Moscow, which began on Tuesday. The remarks comes amid the strained ties between India and the US, after US President Donald Trump announced a whopping 50 per cent tarrifs on India, that includes a 25 per cent 'penalty' for importing Russian oil.
