2 MS-13 gang members indicted for murder in Maryland
MS-13 is a criminal organization with mostly immigrants from El Salvador, according to the DOJ. Some members operate in Maryland and other states in the U.S.
According to court documents, 46-year-old Manuel Erazo Alvarado and Erick Guillen Pleitez, both of Annapolis, were members or associates of MS-13 in Maryland in 2017.
The indictment alleges that during that time, both Alvarado and Pleitez distributed narcotics, collected extortion payments or "rent" and engaged in acts of violence.
On August 29, 2017, Alvarado and Pleitez murdered a person to maintain and increase their positions in the gang, according to the indictment.
According to the DOJ, both men could face mandatory life sentences or a death sentence if convicted.
The DOJ said the FBI, Anne Arundel County Police and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are investigating the case which is part of Operation Take Back America.
The nationwide initiative aims to crack down on illegal immigration in the U.S.
Since taking office in January, President Trump has launched an effort to address the issue, which has prompted an increase in ICE arrests and a decrease in border crossings.
The Trump administration has rolled back several Biden-era policies, including one that protected immigrants from being arrested by ICE at some sensitive locations like places of worship and schools.
The effort has also led to concerns and protests in some Maryland communities. In Baltimore, immigrant rights activists spoke out against "inhumane living conditions"
at an ICE facility
where they said immigrants were being held.
In a statement to WJZ, ICE said the facility runs in compliance with federal laws and upholds "the well-being and dignity of those in our custody."
A spokesperson also said the ICE Health Service Corps was on site to provide necessary medical services.

Russia Limits Secure Calling on WhatsApp and Telegram Russia started blocking WhatsApp and Telegram calls this week, saying that the encryption schemes the communication platforms use to protect customer calls from interception violate information-sharing requirements between tech companies and the government. The platforms have close to 100 million users each in Russia, according to Al Jazeera and Mediascope. The Kremlin has spent years expanding its mechanisms for internet censorship and control, often under the guise of national security and law enforcement. A WhatsApp spokesperson told WIRED in a statement that 'WhatsApp is private, end-to-end encrypted, and defies government attempts to violate people's right to secure communication, which is why Russia is trying to block it from over 100 million Russian people.' Reuters reports that Telegram told Russia's RBC Daily that it takes steps to address criminal behavior on its platform, including deploying moderators equipped with AI tools to monitor public discourse and communications on the platform that are not end-to-end encrypted. Telegram said it takes down millions of malicious messages each day. US ICE Agents Mistakenly Add Random Civilian to Highly Sensitive Group Chat ICE agents inadvertently added a random person to a group chat named 'Mass Text,' exposing sensitive discussions including details about a manhunt for a convicted attempted murderer who apparently had been flagged for deportation. The person who was added to the group chat 'is not a law enforcement official or associated with the investigation in any way,' according to 404 Media, and 'initially thought it was a series of spam messages' after being added to the chat weeks ago. Messages reportedly included the ICE Field Operations Worksheet for the case, which contains detailed information about the target, as well as communications in which ICE agents appeared to be accessing data from a DMV and license plate readers. The breach is reminiscent of so-called SignalGate, another recent situation in which senior Trump administration cabinet members accidentally included the editor in chief of The Atlantic in a Signal group chat created to plan US air strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen. Norwegian Intelligence Chief Says Russian Hackers Were Behind Dam Cyberattack The head of Norway's security police service, Beate Gangås, said this week that it was Russian hackers who targeted a dam in Norway in April and released millions of gallons of water during the four hours that they had control. The Russian embassy denied the allegations in comments to Reuters. Gangås accused Russia of perpetrating the hack in a speech on Thursday, according to Norwegian media. English Police Forces Will Have Access to a New Fleet of Facial Recognition Vans Police in England will have more access to facial recognition tools. Ministers announced this week that law enforcement will deploy 10 live facial recognition vans around the country that will be used by seven police forces to aid in investigations related to 'sex offenders or people wanted for the most serious crimes,' according to Home Secretary Yvette Cooper. MIKE DAVIS: Trump takes over DC police, but here's what must happen next
Washington, D.C., is a crime-infested cesspool and, sadly, has been for some time. Murders, armed robberies, carjackings and many other vicious crimes terrorize innocent residents, many of whom are poor racial minorities. For the past four years, the Biden administration, under the leadership of Biden D.C. U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves, wasted precious resources that should have gone toward D.C. crime investigation and prosecution in pursuit of leftists' obsession with January 6. President Trump has taken bold action to put a stop to this insanity by federalizing the D.C. Metropolitan Police. Attorney General Pam Bondi has designated Drug Enforcement Administration Director Terrance Cole to work with Mayor Muriel Bowser to help run the police department. That should further confuse Police Chief Pamela Smith, the department's former "chief equity officer," who raised eyebrows this week when she appeared not to know what the term "chain of command" even means. President Trump and his team's task in taking charge of law enforcement in the nation's capital is daunting, in part because of a little-discussed law that also needs to go. In the early 1970s, the Democrat-led Congress passed two laws that resulted in D.C. becoming ungovernable. The first restricted the president's power to appoint judges to the local D.C. courts. The president has the same appointment power with respect to federal courts in D.C. that he does in other districts, but local courts, the D.C. Superior Court and D.C. Court of Appeals, hear most criminal matters that involve local crimes. For these judgeships, the president must choose from candidates selected by a seven-member, Democrat-controlled nominating commission. The president only appoints one member. Various others, including the mayor and the D.C. Bar, appoint members. The D.C. Bar is a farce. For instance, it is outrageously persecuting and attempting to disbar Jeff Clark, a Trump 45 Justice Department and Trump 47 White House Office of Management and Budget senior official, for a memorandum that he drafted and which was never even made public. The scheme for appointing local D.C. judges violates the U.S. Constitution's Appointments Clause. Only the president and Senate should have a role in such appointments, not a city's mayor or a local bar association. These local D.C. judges are, for the most part, rabid leftists. For example, President Ronald Reagan got stuck appointing radical leftist and future Obama-era Democrat Attorney General Eric Holder as a D.C. Superior Court judge. Even when thugs who terrorize innocent civilians are arrested, leftist D.C. judges, enabled by the radical D.C. City Council, hand down pathetically lenient sentences that allow these punks—as new D.C. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro calls them—back out on the streets to cause more devastation. Juveniles often do not even go to Superior Court for their crimes. Most wind up in Family Court, which is focused on "rehabilitation." These juveniles do not need arts and crafts, as Pirro has said. They need iron bars. Unless Congress changes this appointment scheme, or unless the Supreme Court strikes it down, President Trump cannot rectify the situation even if vacancies arise. He will have to choose from a slate of atrocious candidates put forth by the leftists on this unconstitutional commission. The situation is reminiscent of the crisis in Israel, where the anti-Netanyahu Supreme Court appoints the majority of the judicial selection committee that then selects new justices when vacancies occur. Another massive problem involves the unconstitutional Home Rule Act of 1973, which gave the ultra-blue DC its own radical local government to oversee day-to-day affairs in our nation's capital. For decades, local criminals and their enablers in the city government and on the courts have held hostage our nation's capital with crime, homeless camps, chaos, and filth. By coddling real criminals and persecuting his political enemies, former President Biden took D.C. back to levels we have not experienced in decades. President Trump recently invoked Section 740 of this statute to federalize the D.C. police department. President Trump also controls the D.C. National Guard and is deploying hundreds into the city to restore order. This D.C. Home Rule Act of 1973 is a half-century-long national disaster. Congress must make its repeal a high priority, returning control of Washington to the American people, where it belongs under our constitution. This scenario is untenable. Washington voted so overwhelmingly against President Trump, all three times, that it would make despots like Kim Jong Un and the president of Iran blush about faking the inverse of these types of electoral numbers, but that is of no consequence. As President Trump has said, our capital is the image of our nation that other leaders see when they visit the White House. Many parts of the capital city look like third-world slums. Homeless encampments littered with drug needles, tattered cloth, and the rancid stench of fermenting feces defile the sidewalks and burn the human senses. Last year, the Supreme Court held in City of Grants Pass v. Johnson that cities can put a stop to these filthy encampments, and President Trump will take full advantage of that authority. Article II of the Constitution empowers the president to manage federal enclaves like D.C.; yet Congress has unconstitutionally delegated the President's Article II power to a woefully inept mayor and city council. For decades, incompetent fools littered the city council and mayorship, most notably former Mayor Marion Barry. After being convicted following his arrest in a narcotics sting operation in which he smoked crack, on video, with a prostitute, in a hotel room, D.C.'s overwhelmingly Democrat voters re-elected Barry. One member of the City Council who was recently federally indicted for corruption just won re-election. That's why President Trump shouldn't bow to these buffoons and has every right to declare a national emergency. D.C. is a mass of suffering, no matter what the leftist reporters and other limousine liberals who live in Georgetown, the Palisades, or in Chevy Chase in wards 3 and 4 tell us. They are safe and secure in their small part of the city, or outside of it wholly. The rest of D.C.'s residents are not so lucky. These innocent people suffer the daily consequences of the half-century-old Home Rule Act of 1973 and the law providing for the entrenchment of leftist judges who have transformed the criminal justice system into a revolving door for criminals. Democrats have no desire to change the status quo. They want to abolish the filibuster and make D.C. a state, knowing it would reliably elect two Democrats to the U.S. Senate and have sovereign protections from federal encroachment. Prominent Democratic strategist James Carville reiterated this goal just last week. Senate Republicans must wake up to the reality that the filibuster will survive only until the next Democrat trifecta. A preemptive strike now would lead to the passage of much quality legislation, including the repeal of laws that have turned our capital into a crime-infested, third-world Marxist hellhole.

Tow Trucks Reportedly Stalking ICE Convoys And Taking Their SUVs
Isn't it great to see people fighting back, often in ways that you could never have imagined when Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) overreach raids started a couple of months ago? A story trending on social media tells of a growing group of tow truck drivers in Los Angeles who are reportedly 'stalking,' or should we say following ICE convoys around the city so they can tow away unmarked ICE vans and SUVs when they park illegally—as they invariably do—and start to conduct their 'abductions' of people off the street. Tow truck drivers to the rescue! Imagine that. It sounded great but unfortunately the story is exaggerated This sounds like a strong background story for a movie, maybe starring Gerard Butler or Liam Neeson and directed by Paul Greengrass from the Jason Bourne films. If ICE agents are 'disappearing' citizens, then tow trucks drivers can repay in kind and 'disappear' their ICE SUVs. According to Newsweek though, 'The claims, however, appear to be exaggerated.' The publication goes on to say, 'The towing company in the popular viral clip is Oxnard towing service Airport Towing. When contacted by Newsweek by phone, the company confirmed the white SUV was an ICE vehicle that had been parked illegally on Thursday, July 10. However, viral reports that the tow truck driver was 'following' ICE are inaccurate.' According to Airport Towing, the vehicle had been parked illegally on private property for more than an hour when the company arrived to tow it. Check out the video below. Seeing a tow truck driver removing an ICE SUV could not be more satisfying, even if it was just a routine removal and the story of a bunch of ICE vans being stalked by tow trucks was exaggerated. Many readers, I'm sure, were hoping this story to be be true, until fact-checking site Snopes traced the social media report back to a satirical site, saying that it had taken one incident and blown it out of proportion. But we can imagine where the story came from, as citizens are being 'disappeared' by the regime, and a vigilante tow truck resistance would seem like a godsend. Jon Favreau of Pod Save America, and former speechwriter for President Barack Obama, summed up what Americans are battling against and what tow truck drivers could react to, if so inclined. 'You have plain clothes agents, with masks, with guns, sometimes in unmarked vehicles. What are people supposed to do when someone grabs you off the street or grabs someone you're with? You're not supposed to demand to see a warrant? You not supposed to try to stop it? What if it's some bad guy, some criminal who says that they're from ICE [but they're not!]Even if the original story was exaggerated, the underlying premise of tow truck drivers resisting ICE raids is cause for hope, hope that citizens can use whatever limited powers they have to help save innocent fellow residents.
