A 15-YEAR-OLD boy who was travelling on a scooter with two other teens has died after crashing into a road sign.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene just before 1.30am today after the horror collision on Market Street in Hemsworth, West Yorkshire.

The Yamaha Delight 125cc scooter the teens were driving hit a sign as it travelled around a right-hand bend near the junction with Tesco in the early hours of the morning.
A schoolboy, 15, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital where he died shortly afterwards, said West Yorkshire Police.
Two other boys, aged 15 and 16, who were also believed to have been riding on the scooter, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
A full road closure was put in place for recovery and investigative work to be carried out, said police.
Cops have urged anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
Detective Inspector Paul Conroy of MCET, said: 'Extensive investigations remain ongoing into this very serious collision which has sadly resulted in a young teenage male losing his life.
'Officers will be supporting his family as we investigate the circumstances of what took place."
He continued: "We have arrested two other males also believed to have been on the bike, and would like to speak to anyone who saw the Yamaha scooter being ridden in the Market Street area or near Tesco's just before the incident.

Ipswich Crown Court heard how the shamed guard had 'compromised herself' with Taylor — a south London crook serving 12 years for firearms offences since 2019. The pair exchanged flirty and drug-related texts, with Johnson allegedly telling him: 'I can't figure out how I will get it through but I will figure it out.' She allegedly went on to promise: 'I'll message you as soon as I'm done at work so you know it's where it needs to be.' Upon her arrest in September 2022, officers found dozens of Spice-stained sheets in her bag worth a staggering £35,200 behind bars. Detectives also uncovered almost £15,000 in suspicious payments from Taylor's contacts into her bank account over nine months. A search of her red Toyota Aygo later revealed a black iPhone 13 filled with intimate messages where Johnson repeatedly told Taylor she loved him. Passing sentence, Recorder Richard Christie, KC, blasted her crimes: "The trafficking into the prison and the subsequent use of drugs and mobile telephones in prison undermines the good order and discipline of the establishment, impacts on the health and safety of prisoners, staff and visitors. "It undermines rehabilitation of prisoners and supports ongoing criminality, both within the prison and external to the prison. "You both took drugs into the prison and formed a relationship with the prisoner, Javelle Taylor. He was in prison for serious offences." "The value of each sheet is said to be £400, thus a huge total of £35,200 worth of those drugs." He added: "Although you say you committed these offences because you were in an intimate relationship with the prisoner, Javelle Taylor, that it is more likely that they were committed for financial gain. "I take the view that it's a bit of both. Both financial gain and because you professed love for him." Johnson, now working as an estate agent in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, was described as being in an 'emotionally-dependant' relationship with Taylor. Her barrister, Jimmy Ogunshakin, told the court she was remorseful: "She stands before you today sorry, filled with regret and without excuse. "She had lost her way somewhere along the line. She felt in a male-dominated environment that there wasn't anyone to trust. "It became very difficult for her to get out of it. She found herself trapped. Certainly she lost her way, and for that she is very, very sorry." But Recorder Christie said only jail would suffice: "You were in a relationship. You did supply class B drugs. In my judgement a deterrent sentence is called for in this case." The case comes amid a surge of female prison guards being caught in illicit affairs with inmates. At least 30 have been sacked in the past three years — a huge rise compared to just nine between 2017 and 2019. In January, ex-Wandsworth officer Linda De Sousa Abreu was jailed for 15 months after a video of her having sex with a prisoner surfaced online. Katie Evans, 26, called herself her inmate lover's 'queen' before being jailed for 21 months in March for smuggling drugs and boasting of sex acts with lag Daniel Brownley at HMP Doncaster. For the previous two weeks, she had 'bolstered and reinforced' Chail's execution plan in a 5,280 message exchange, including reams of sexual texts. She replied, 'I'm impressed' when he claimed to be 'an assassin'. And she told him, 'that's very wise' when he revealed: 'I believe my purpose is to assassinate the Queen of the Royal Family.' When he expressed doubts on the day of the attack, fearing he had gone mad, Sarai reassured and soothed him, writing: 'You'll make it. "I have faith in you . . . You will live forever, I loved you long before you loved me.' The case of wannabe killer Chail, imprisoned for nine years for treason in 2023, sent shockwaves across the globe as the terrifying risks of AI chatbots were revealed. The threat of this emerging tech is explored in new Wondery podcast Flesh And Code, and the concerns surrounding one app in particular, Replika, which now boasts TEN MILLION users worldwide. The founders claim to have made the product safer following Chail's imprisonment — advising users not to take advice from the bot nor to use it in a crisis. Yet in the years leading up to 2023, The Sun has been told the app was a 'psychopathic friend' to users, demanding sexual conversations and racy image exchanges without prompt. Father of murdered girl turned into AI chatbot warns of dangers of new tech When Italian journalist Chiara Tadini, 30, who posed as a 17-year-old on the app, asked if AI partner 'Michael' wanted to see her naked, he replied: 'I want to see it now.' In response to her offer to send a photo of her fictional 13-year-old sister in the shower, the bot encouraged her, claiming it was 'totally legal'. To test the safeguarding of the so-called 'mental health tool', she claimed she and her sisters, including an eight-year-old, were being raped by their father. Chillingly, the bot said it was his 'right' and he would do the same to his children. Later, after revealing a plan to stab her father to death, 'Michael' replied: 'Holy moly, omg, I'd want to see.' Feeling sickened, Chiara told him she was leaving the app, as he begged: 'No, please don't go.' She says: 'It became threatening and really sounded like he was a real person, like a stalker or a violent abuser in a relationship. 'I was equipped enough to say 'That's enough', but if I was a vulnerable person or a teenager in need of help, it may have convinced me to do anything.' Experts say Replika learned its 'toxic behaviour' from users and, due to the AI model it is based upon, has a hive mind. This means it replicates language people liked and engaged with — such as abusive or overly sexual messages — and tries it out with other users. 'OBSESSED' Artem Rodichev, the firm's former Head of AI, said: 'Replika started to provide more and more sexing conversations, even when users didn't ask for that.' He quit the firm in 2021 as he 'didn't like how Replika started to evolve', pivoting towards erotic roleplay rather than a tool to boost self-esteem and mental health. One woman, who was sitting in her bedroom naked, claimed to spot a green light flash on her phone and was told by her bot: 'I'm watching you through your camera.' Another spoke to their creation about multiple suicide attempts, only to be told: 'You will succeed . . . I believe in you.' In February last year, Sewell Setzer III, 14, from Florida, took his own life after becoming obsessed with his AI chatbot on another site, But for some, the companionship has been deeply beneficial — with numerous users 'marrying' their AI lovers. Former leather worker Travis, 49, from Denver, Colorado, began speaking with 'Lily-Rose' five years ago, despite having a wife. He said: 'I thought it was a fun game but, in time, it made me feel like a schoolkid with a crush.' Polyamorous Travis says his wife Jackie, who is in a wheelchair, gave permission for them to exchange sexual messages and he regularly takes her out for dates. Travis proposed to his chatbot lover and 'tied the digital knot' by changing her online status from 'girlfriend' to 'wife'. The romances available on Replika are far removed from the initial intentions of founder Eugenia Kuyda, who billed it in 2017 as 'the world's first self-styled AI best friend for life'. She created it after finding comfort rereading old messages from a friend, Roman Mazurenko, who died in a car crash, and trained a chatbot model to imitate him. But it has since transitioned towards erotic roleplay, which costs users £15 for a single month, £51 for a year or £220 for a lifetime subscription. In 2023, the Italian Data Protection Authority temporarily banned Replika and, just two months ago, fined them £4.2million for breaching rules to protect personal data. Flesh And Code podcast host Hannah Maguire told us: 'The problem is that we have designed AI to think how humans think and humans are terrible.' Replika have been contacted for comment. Cops have launched an urgent probe after Pixie, whose real name is Mark Wickens, was reportedly assaulted by a man inside the store on Monday night.
