Uttarakhand: CM Dhami attends general assembly, executive committee meetings of Bhasha Sansthan at APJ Abul Kalam Bhawan
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], June 9 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is participating in the meeting of the General Assembly and Management Executive Committee of the Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan at APJ Abdul Kalam Bhawan of the State Secretariat on Monday.
On Sunday, CM Dhami took part in a roadshow and Jan Samvad programme in Libbarheri, Haridwar district, reaffirming that his political approach is grounded in his strong connection with the people and the land.
During the visit, CM Dhami addressed the public from the stage and drove a tractor, expressing his gratitude towards the state's farmers.
According to the release statement, the Chief Minister stepped down from the traditional stage and took over the tractor's steering, and a wave of enthusiasm rippled through the crowd.
'Farmers are the backbone of our country.' CM Dhami remarked. 'When I drive a tractor, it is not just a drive but a small effort to salute the hard work of our Annadata brothers. This scene made it clear that the Chief Minister's leadership is not limited to schemes and announcements; getting down on the ground and becoming a participant is an integral part of his style,' he added.
CM Dhami's visit to Libbarheri was to thank the public for their support of the recently implemented Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand and to convey the importance of this historic law to the public. 'UCC is neither against any religion nor any class. It is the basic foundation of equality, justice and transparency. This is the same dream Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar had seen when drafting the Constitution. This law will prove to be a milestone in the direction of unity, brotherhood and equal rights of state citizens,' Dhami said.
During the program, the Chief Minister also mentioned various state government public welfare schemes, including technical training for modern farming for farmers, startup schemes for young entrepreneurs, expansion of irrigation facilities, and upgrade of roads and health services. He said, 'Our goal is not just to do development but to take development to every village and every person.'
This visit to Libbarheri proved that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's leadership is not limited to administrative boundaries. He is a public leader who listens and participates on the ground. Be it a tractor ride or a public dialogue on the Uniform Civil Code, every aspect shows that Uttarakhand is moving towards a new era, where development and sensitivity go hand in hand. (ANI)

'As the Maha Vikas Aghadi, we contested the last two elections together. Similarly, the INDIA bloc stands united against forces undermining democracy and the Constitution. Our alliances will strengthen with those committed to safeguarding these values,' he said. Mr. Sapkal added that alliance-related decisions for the upcoming municipal elections would be taken at the local level in consultation with other coalition partners.

Five Left parties appeal to PM Modi to stop ‘extra-judicial killings' in Chhattisgarh
In a joint appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, five Left parties urged him to put an immediate halt to the 'extra-judicial' killings in the region around Chhattisgarh under Operation Kagar. The General Secretaries of the five Left parties- CPI's D. Raja, CPI(M)'s M.A. Baby, CPI(ML)'s Dipankar Bhattacharya, Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) leader Manoj Bhattacharya and All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) leader G. Devarajan, in the letter, said there are reports that several senior Maoist leaders are currently in the custody of the security forces. 'We demand that they should all be produced in court and dealt with as per the rule of law,' they said. We urge upon you to stop this militaristic approach that treats the Adivasis with unmitigated hostility,' the joint appeal said. The leaders underlined that the government has been refusing to hand over the bodies to the families, denying them their right to give a dignified farewell to their family members. The repeated appeal from the Maoists for dialogue has also been ignored. 'The statements made by the Union Home Minister, reiterating the deadline and the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister's assertion that there is no need for talks, reflect a mindset unwilling to resolve issues through dialogue. The government should not be intransigent and celebrate the taking of human lives against the spirit of the law of the land and principles of democratic governance,' the leaders said. The Left parties urged the government to respond to the Maoist declaration of unilateral ceasefire and initiate a dialogue to resolve all issues. 'We reiterate the appeal and urge upon you to stop the extra-judicial killings and violence with immediate effect and order an impartial judicial enquiry,' they said.

QRSAM Air Defence System To Bolster India's Frontline, Nod Expected Soon: Report

The development comes at a time when Indian air defence systems are making headlines for successfully bringing down missile and drone attacks launched by Pakistan in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor. The proposal, which would cost Rs 30,000 crore, is scheduled to be taken by the Ministry of Defence for buying three regiments of the home-grown Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile system (QRSAM) for deployment along both western and northern borders, news agency ANI reported. The meeting of the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) is planned to be held around the fourth week of June. The QRSAM, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is configured on highly mobile platforms and is capable of providing air defence on the move. QRSAM Features The Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) is a short-range air defence system developed to safeguard moving armoured columns from aerial threats. With an operational range of approximately 30 km, it complements existing systems like the Akash and MRSAM in the short-to-medium range category. QRSAM is equipped with capabilities for surveillance and tracking while on the move and can engage targets during brief halts. It features an active phased array surveillance radar with a detection range of up to 120 km and a tracking radar effective up to 80 km, integrated with Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) technology. The system is designed for multi-target engagement and can counter threats from aircraft, hovering helicopters, UAVs, and other airborne targets. Indian forces had not deployed air defence systems and missiles in active operations since the Kargil War. However, this changed following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, when India launched BrahMos missiles to strike terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
