Johnny Damon's daughter flips off TNA wrestlers during Slammiversary on Long Island

New York Post22-07-2025
Someone must not have told Johnny Damon's daughter that professional wrestling isn't real, because the pugnacious youngster was quick to stand on business when she thought TNA wrestler Ryan Nemeth was going after her dad during a moment over the weekend at Slammiversary.
The baseball legend was ringside for TNA Slammiversary, which was being held at UBS Arena out on Long Island, when part of the action came face-to-face with Damon.
Nemeth was competing in a tag team match with his brother, Nic, when Damon shoved him after the two exchanged words, clearly as part of a bit for the show.

Nemeth tried to go back at Damon before his brother jumped in to grab him from getting to the ex-Red Sox great.
Damon continued to yell at the wrestlers as they got back in the ring, and next to him, his daughter could be seen yelling at them and quickly flipping the bird at Nemeth before the camera cut back to the action inside the ring.

It wasn't clear if the younger Damon was aware that it was all part of the showmanship of professional wrestling, but it made for a hilarious moment all the same.
Damon had a pretty packed weekend, not only showing up for the show on Sunday, but he also took part in the TNA SLAMMing Softball Classic, which was played on Saturday out on Long Island.

The involvement of Damon shouldn't be too much of a surprise after A-GAME Beverages, which was founded by Damon, became the official hydration partner of TNA wrestling in an agreement announced last week.
'TNA executives are finalizing Damon's additional involvement at Slammiversary as he is a longtime pro wrestling fan who has appeared at and participated in past pro wrestling shows,' TNA said in a press release last week announcing the deal.

Royals end Boston's 7-game win streak as Jonathan India hits 3-run homer in 7-3 victory

BOSTON (AP) — Jonathan India hit a three-run homer and Michael Wacha scattered five hits over six innings to help the Kansas City Royals beat the Red Sox 7-3 on Wednesday night, ending Boston's seven-game winning streak. Wacha (6-9) allowed two runs while walking none and striking out three to earn his second consecutive victory and help the Royals avoid the three-game sweep. Boston led 2-0 after one inning but Kansas City took the lead in the fourth on Kyle Isbel's two-run single. India made it 6-2 in the seventh. Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony was hitless in four at-bats just hours after signing a contract extension that will pay him at least $130 million through 2033. In the fifth inning, he hit a long fly ball that went 394 feet before right fielder Randal Grichuk caught it at the wall. Key moment The Royals had runners on first and second with one out in the sixth when pinch-hitter Randal Grichuk hit a ball to deep center field. Jarren Duran ran it down and caught it, threw it in and second baseman Ceddanne Rafaela took the relay and fired it to first to try to catch John Rave before he got back to the bag. The problem: No one was covering first. The runners advanced to second and third, but were stranded there. Key stat Boston starter Dustin May (6-8) made his Red Sox debut after being acquired at the trade deadline. He lasted 3 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four. Up next The Royals are off on Thursday before a three-game series in Minnesota. Seth Lugo (8-5) will face Joe Ryan (10-5) in the opener. The Red Sox are off on Thursday before beginning a three-game series with the Padres in San Diego. The rotation will be Walker Buehler (6-6), Lucas Giolito (8-2) and Brayan Bello (8-5). ___ AP MLB: Jimmy Golen, The Associated Press

Grayson Waller Is In The Best Shape Ever After Dropping A Huge Amount Of Weight

Grayson Waller feels like a new man. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller have been teaming as 'A-Town Down Under' for the better part of two years now. However, WWE teased their split and an eventual feud for the past several months. Despite the tease, the duo never broke up and feuded. In fact, the 'official' split took place off camera, and it happened without much of an explanation. Last week, Waller sent a message to 'all five' of Austin Theory's fans on social media. (This was after Waller tried to join The New Day on WWE RAW.) Waller says Theory's fans should thank him for saving Theory's career after John Cena buried him on WWE RAW two years ago. 'Big G' said he wasted two years making Theory relevant, but that's over now. Now, Waller has continued taking shots at Theory on social media. Waller joked that he's in the best shape of his life now that he has dropped '220 lbs of dead weight.' Theory is reportedly out with an injury. His last match was a loss to El Grande Americano on the July 17 episode of WWE Main Event. A-Town Down Under's last match was a win over the LWO on the May 26 episode of Main Event. In May, Waller also shared his frustrations with Theory on The Amin Show. Waller said that Theory is a good guy, but he lacks a certain killer instinct. 'For right now, we are working as a team. Maybe he's not working the same way that I am. I think the problem with Austin Theory is that he's a good guy. He's not what people assume he is, and that kind of frustrates me at times, like he's not willing to do whatever it takes. We're walking into the venue, and he wants to stop and take photos with the kids and the fat blokes with the black shirts on. That's just not me. I'm there to work, I'm there for myself, and sometimes we don't see eye to eye. But the problem is, we're both supremely talented, so as a tag team, we work pretty well,' Grayson Waller said.
