Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker hints he'll be arrested after making bold claim

Pulp's Jarvis Cocker discussed the likelihood of him getting arrested as he discussed the loss of iconic venue The Leadmill in Sheffield
Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker joked about potentially getting arrested as he discussed the loss of iconic venue The Leadmill in Sheffield. The group played their first-ever public concert at the venue in 1980, and returned to perform many times as they got more and more famous.
However, the venue lost their appeal against their eviction notice from The Electric Group in 2024 and asked artists if they would like to perform farewell concerts at the venue for one last time. During a recent interview, Jarvis was asked whether there would be a chance the group could play at The Leadmill one final time.

Jarvis said he doesn't think Pulp 'would fit into' the venue now but admits he wants to take home a black plaque that commemorates the group's first concert.
'My main thing is trying to figure out how to get that plaque outside off the wall before the new owner moves in,' he said to NME.
'I vowed that's what I'd do if it was to close, and now it is. If the next thing you read about me is that I've been arrested trying to crowbar off a plaque from the outside of The Leadmill, you'll know why.'
Pulp might not be performing at the venue but Miles Kane recently hinted he could be joined by Alex Turner at the final-ever gig. Miles, 39, who collaborates with the Arctic Monkeys' frontman in The Last Shadow Puppets, is set to headline the iconic venue's farewell gig on June 27, following The Leadmill's forced departure.
Sheffield-based band the Monkeys performed at Leadmill countless times before the release of their debut album, Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not.

Now, Wirral-born Miles' performance could see Alex reuniting with Miles on stage, as hinted during Miles' chat with Radio X
When quizzed about the possibility of Alex, also 39, joining him, Miles joked: "Well, he's redecorating it (The Leadmill) at the minute, so he's making it all leopard print for us, because, you know, it's got to be done by hand."
He affectionately added: "My door's always open for my bro, he knows that, and that's that." Alex hasn't performed on stage since Arctic Monkeys wrapped up their tour for their latest album, The Car, in 2023.

Speaking to Radio X, he reflected: "It's served me well, and Sheffield as a city as well has always had my back with gigs, that'd be one of the first to sell out or whatever.
"So, it's a complete honour, and let's give it a good send-off. I think it'll be a very special night, and it always pops off in there, and hopefully next Friday it won't be any different."

Singer who died having boob and nose job 'partied with surgeon night before'

Ana Bárbara Buhr Buldrini, a 31-year-old singer from Mozambique, died at a hospital in Turkey just hours after receiving a breast augmentation, liposuction and a nose job A heartbroken husband has paid tribute to his "beautiful" wife who died just hours after undergoing plastic surgery. Ana Bárbara Buhr Buldrini travelled to Turkey last Friday, alongside Elgar Miles from their home in Mozambique, to undergo a breast augmentation, liposuction and a nose job. The 31-year-old singer went into cardiac arrest shortly after the procedures at Tusa Hospital in Istanbul and tragically died. ‌ Mr Miles, who only married Mrs Buldrini a month ago, said it was his wife's dream to "improve her aesthetic standards". Allegedly receiving the procedures in return for promoting Tusa Hospital, the couple are said to have partied with the physician doing the surgeries in Istanbul on Saturday night, G1 reports, via Mail online. ‌ According to Mr Miles, who is an artist himself, his wife was taken into surgery earlier than scheduled, just two days after an initial consultation. "'Due to scheduling issues, the surgeon decided to bring it forward to Sunday," he said. "We went to the clinic on Sunday just to see the place, but the doctor wanted to perform the procedure without Ana being prepared." Despite allegedly being out the night before, Mr Miles claims his wife was persuaded to go ahead. "The doctor assured me that there were no problems and that everything would be fine," he told G1 news outlet. Mrs Buldrini underwent the procedures and was out of the operating room by 11pm Sunday. Her heart allegedly began to slow down, however, and Mr Miles noticed a change in the staff's mood. "They told me to go to the room, the assistants were acting strangely. I waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes to receive her," he said. "I went down to the ground floor and a doctor said that her heart was beating slowly, another said that she was already dead." ‌ In a statement obtained by Turkish outlet Turkiye Today, Tusa Hospital stated that the singer had been given full legal and medical information and had signed all necessary consent forms before the procedures. There was "an unexpected complication" during the recovery phase, the hospital said, and Mrs Buldrini experienced ventricular fibrillation, a serious heart rhythm disturbance, and suffered cardiac arrest. Medical staff attempted to revive her for but were unsuccessful. 'Despite all efforts by our expert anesthesiology team, the patient could not be resuscitated,' the statement read. Mr Miles, who married his wife in May in Maputo, Mozambique, six years after meeting in Rome, has been left devastated. "She was the person who cared for me the most, who loved me the most, who believed in me the most," he said. "I just want justice to be done and for this case to serve as an example for all people who want to undergo a type of medical intervention like the one Ana underwent." ‌ In a tribute posted on his Instagram page, Mr Miles said: "Our last few days were too beautiful to end this tragically. I will love you forever because I chose you for that. Years and years of building our empire for today I'm here in this room alone with no floor. "I promised to protect and love you like the queen and beautiful person you are inside and out. It doesn't seem fair living this life without you, not really. I want to be wherever you are because none of this makes sense without you." According to the hospital's statement, legal procedures have been initiated to determine cause of death. The hospital say they are fully cooperating with authorities.

Liam and Noel Gallagher pictured together for first time since tour announced

Liam and Noel Gallagher have been photographed together for the first time since the Oasis reunion tour was announced. The Britpop band, who split in 2009 prompted by a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival, confirmed their long-awaited reunion in August 2024. They have since been photographed together to launch a new partnership with Adidas ahead of their Oasis Live '25 world tour. View this post on Instagram A post shared by adidas UK (@adidasuk) The Manchester-born musicians rose to fame after the release of their debut album Definitely Maybe in 1994, with their hits songs including Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall and Supersonic. While in the group, they became known for their recognisable sportswear style which consisted of tracksuits, sleeve jerseys, bucket hats and coach jackets. The pair are now the faces behind the Original Forever film campaign, which is soundtracked by their hit song Live Forever, and includes an accompanying Adidas Originals x Oasis Live '25 apparel collection. Chris Walsh, Adidas brand vice president, said: 'Adidas and Oasis share a story defined by originality and cultural impact, with roots that run deep and have long been entwined in the fabric of music and style. 'This official partnership represents more than just two icons coming together – it reignites a timeless piece of cultural music history. View this post on Instagram A post shared by adidas UK (@adidasuk) 'Original Forever continues to build on Adidas' lasting legacy in music and celebrates the powerful role music and style play in shaping culture across generations.' The brothers had been known to get into arguments over the years, but things reached breaking point at a French festival when Liam began swinging around a guitar. Noel quit the rock group on August 28 2009, saying he 'simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer'. The highly anticipated reunion tour announcement was followed with some ticketing backlash after fans in the UK and Ireland saw some prices more than double, from £148 to £355, which was blamed on 'unprecedented demand'. The outrage and controversy prompted the Government and the UK's competition watchdog to pledge they would look at the use of dynamic pricing. Oasis are due to kickstart their world tour in July with performances in Cardiff followed by Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin. The group will continue on with concerts scheduled around the world including Canada, the US, Mexico, Australia and Japan.
