Torch Theatre: Royal Opera House screening in Pembrokeshire
The Pembrokeshire theatre is embarking on its 'cinema season,' which will kick off with a live screening of 'Die Walküre' (The Valkyrie) by The Royal Ballet and Opera.
This opera-ballet extravaganza will be directed by Barrie Kosky and conducted by Antonio Pappano.
The screening brings Wagner's tale of gods and mortals battling it out further, following the saga that began with 'Das Rheingold' in 2023.
The storyline follows a love entwined with fate that could potentially be powerful enough to end the world.
Meanwhile, an epic confrontation ensues between Wotan, played by Christopher Maltman, the king of gods, and his rebellious daughter Brünnhilde, enacted by Elisabet Strid.
Viewers will be treated to a visually compelling stage setup by designer Rufus Didwiszus, with costumes by Victoria Behr and lighting by Alessandro Carletti.
Critically acclaimed by the Guardian's Erica Jeal who gave the show four stars, the production will be sung in German with translated captions for English speakers.
The show starts at 2pm on Sunday, May 18.
Tickets are priced at £20 per person, with a concessional rate of £18.
Those under the age of 26 can enter at £9 per head.

The Sun reported that Philip said: "I am getting messages, inundated on Instagram, from people from all over the world who can relate to this story or have really been affected by it. That, for me, has blown my mind a little bit. "I had a text message from Steven Spielberg who has watched it twice, and I got letters from Adele last week - handwritten letters from Adele. I mean, just like saying that she had watched it with her son, and it has changed their relationship. "Things like that are just beyond anything I ever imagined from this little show that we made with our family. You see things like Baby Reindeer and all of those shows — they come out and then they just blow up. It's a huge thing and that is the power of Netflix. "For some reason, because we made it in Yorkshire and it is set in a small town in England, I never thought in a million years it would be the number one show in India or Venezuela." The series has became Netflix's second most-watched English-language TV show ever only behind Wednesday, which is the Addams family spin-off. Since its March 13 debut, Adolescence has amassed 141.2 million views so far. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has also praised the show and how popular it has been across the world. He has even gone on to say that he thinks that schools should show the series to students for educational purposes. Sir Keir said he watched the series with his 14-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son. He said: "As a dad, I have not found it easy viewing." Main actor Owen Cooper has risen to fame since the show. He has been getting a lot of media attention after becoming an overnight star and even appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last week.

A woman who has moved to Switzerland has shared interesting insights she has discovered since moving - and people are only just finding out about the sweet way that new babies are celebrated The arrival of a newborn is always a cause for celebration, with baby showers, 'welcome to the world ' parties, and an array of gifts, balloons, and cards marking the occasion worldwide. Yet, many have only just cottoned on to the charming tradition that heralds the birth of babies in Switzerland. Curiosity has been piqued among travellers to Switzerland who've spotted curious signs adorned with animals or characters, alongside a name and date of birth, leaving them puzzled about their meaning. An Australian woman, now residing in Switzerland and known as Aussie Spat mum online, has taken to sharing fascinating customs she's encountered since her move. In a video, the mum revealed: "In Switzerland, when a baby is born, the whole village gets the news... literally!". She elaborated: "Birth signs with the baby's name and date of birth pop up on buildings, balconies and front yards to welcome the newest little one!". These birth announcements, referred to as 'Geburtstafeln', are essentially birth signs usually mounted on poles or trees. They remain on display until family and friends have visited to fete the new arrival, after which they are removed. Commenting on the Instagram post, an individual explained: "Let me share how it's done in central Switzerland: you get them from friends, family, godparents or your 'verein'. After one year, the parents are supposed to take them down with a 'Täfelifescht'. This means you organise a barbecue or similar social gathering event where all the people are invited who got you a sign." Another Swiss person chimed in: "We use this as an open competition for the worst baby names." While one commenter was charmed by the tradition: "I need to experience this land of joy and happiness." One user shared that they follow a similar custom in the Netherlands, while someone else noted: "In Germany some people show it by hanging newborn clothes or a little wooden stork outside as well." On Reddit, a Nidwalden resident mentioned: "I live in Nidwalden, close to Lucerne and they're so normal here that it's seen as odd when people don't do it. They're called 'Geburtstafeln', so literally 'birth signs'. They are hanged on the balcony when a child is born and they have the name of the child and its birth date written on them." Another Reddit user added: "This is common in Switzerland especially in the German speaking part. They have this and later on the kids keep them." Someone else pointed out former US practices, stating that although this used to be more common stateside, "police recommend against it because it puts your child at risk of abduction." Meanwhile, Welcome Switzerland highlighted the unique cultural practice on Facebook, saying: "In Switzerland, welcoming a newborn means more than just cards and social media posts!". Bol, 39, has turned his life around, putting crime in his rear-view mirror and excelling as a football scout. It's far cry from what he was doing at a similar age to the youngsters, with Bol being sent to prison for three years at just 15 years old for robbery. He also found himself wrapped up in dealing Class A drugs and ultimately being convicted for that too. Speaking to The Times, he recalled: "I wanted things my mum didn't deem necessary, like designer clothes, trainers, and that led me down a slippery slope. "I stopped playing football and I started selling and smoking weed, and then it went on to be more Class A drugs. I was just in a bubble thinking this is going to be my career path." After being let out of prison for the first time, Bol turned his attention to rap music - amassing millions of YouTube views for his songs about crime. He added: "I came out and got adulation from my peers, it boosts your ego, and I just started rapping about what I was going through. "It was more about selling drugs. And was even stabbed in the arm and leg while sitting in the front seat of his car by four members of rival gang at one point. But after turning 21 and finisng himself in an adult prison, Bol's life changed thanks an officer who encouraged him to complete FA Level One and Community Sports Leader coaching courses. He recalled that decision helped him "break the cycle" and he started to volunteer at a local football club when he was released from prison. In 2012 he set up his own grassroots team, AC United, which snowballed into an eight-team club with performances catching the attention of top scouts. A standout player at AC United, Clinton Mola, was invited for a trial at Chelsea - with Bol accompanying him to the training ground. Upon his arrival at Cobham, Bol was mobbed by a group of U14 players - including a young Reece James - who recognised him from his music videos. Recognising the sway and impact that Bol had in the local community, Chelsea decided to hire him as a member of their coaching staff. They also signed Mola, who now plays for Bristol Rovers in League One and represented England from U16 to U21 levels. Bol recalled being concerned that Chelsea would turn him away after a DBS check of his criminal history. He said to The Times: "Rightfully so, because there were obviously reservations after what showed up [on the DBS check]. 'I did a risk assessment and they asked me how I ended up in these situations and what I'd done to change my behaviour to ensure I wouldn't fall back into those old patterns. I got the role and I was there for just over five years.' From there Bol's career in football scouting has taken over and he made the switch to Arsenal's academy in 2020 - where he has been ever since. Working alongside academy manager Per Mertesacker, Bol's role is to manage a group of scouts and make sure they are always covering all parts of East London. Along his way he has helped unearth and develop some of of the Premier League's most exciting young talents. Zain Silcott-Duberry, who made his Prem debut for Bournemouth this season, is just one of the youngsters he has had a hand in developing. While 14-year-old Trey Faromo, another Bol has helped identify, is thought to be one of the country's brightest talents and recently made his debut for Chelsea Under-18. Now Bol is targeting a spot as the head of recruitment at a Premier League club, but still recognises how far he has come. He said: "I feel proud of where I'm going.
