Barrack emphasized that Lebanon does not need to commit to a strict timeline. 'The country is working to find a formula that suits its needs, and once that is achieved, we as Americans will offer our support. The process must begin from within Lebanon, and that is where the real challenge lies. If you want change, you must create it. We stand by you. It is not the United States imposing actions; we are here only to assist.'
He added, 'We feel hopeful and grateful. President Trump supports Lebanon and is committed to helping the country achieve peace and prosperity. The time for that has come. The region is progressing, and surrounding countries are evolving. Lebanon should learn from the lessons of the Taif Agreement. The previous mechanism between Lebanon and Israel failed to move in the right direction. Trump believes Lebanon remains the key to the region and has the potential to be the pearl of the Mediterranean. He entrusted me with this mission, and I am dedicated to fulfilling it.'
Barrack stressed, 'Israel seeks peace with Lebanon. It does not want war or occupation.' He continued, 'There is an opportunity in the air, and no one is better suited than the Lebanese to seize it. Everyone is weary and frustrated by recent years' hardships. We now have a new framework that must be embraced. Every party will need to make concessions.'
He also noted, 'The government is working to address gaps in the ceasefire implementation mechanism. Dialogue between Syria and Israel has begun, and similar talks must be initiated with Lebanon.'
Barrack posed a direct question: 'Isn't Hezbollah a political party in Lebanon? Do you expect another country to solve the issues of a political party within a sovereign state? This is your challenge to resolve.'
He concluded with a reminder: 'Lebanon was once known as the Switzerland of the East. Now is the time to seize this opportunity. Security and peace are essential. No one will come if you remain at war.'

Geagea Slams Response to Barrack as ‘Illegal and Unofficial'
Leader of the Lebanese Forces Party Samir Geagea considered that the response to be presented by the three leaders today to US envoy Tom Barrack is "unconstitutional, illegal, and even unofficial." He explained that the Prime Minister is required to convene the cabinet without delay, after having briefed the ministers on Barrack's paper, which ought to be discussed in a cabinet meeting or successive meetings with full ministerial presence to adopt the official constitutional position. "The fate and future of the Lebanese are being determined at this very moment, and the slightest mistake or shortcoming by any of the key officials could drag the country into the abyss, or at best, to stagnation, paralysis, and a gradual regression," cautioned Geagea. The LF Chief considered that Hezbollah, with its bravado, appears determined to inflict further losses, paralysis, and missed opportunities on the country, based on rigid ideological foundations and well-known external connections. "The Council of Ministers, and by extension the Parliament, are called upon to shoulder their responsibilities in these critical circumstances and not waste any further opportunity, leaving the country in a state of instability and uncertainty until further notice," Geagea concluded.
