The Kiwanis Sunshine Point Camp received a cheque from the Ontario Trillium foundation for $198,000, which staff said was much needed money to help expand the staff lodge.
The camp has been running for 78 years, offering kids various educational and recreational summer activities. The camp is situated on five acres of land on the shores of Lake Erie in Harrow.
The youth program offered is a five-night, six-day overnight camp for children offered for seven weeks over the summer. The camp is accredited by the Ontario Camp Association.

Most of the cost of attending camp is covered by public and private donations. Some of the campers of today are expected to return in the future as camp counsellors.
Daniel Inverarity is chair of fundraising for the camp. Inverarity and the organization are grateful for all donations made to the camp, however, additional resources are sometimes needed to cover unforeseen costs of operations, site upgrades, and construction.
'We've used the entire budget of $198,000, but there were some cost overruns that somehow I'm going to have to dig up another $20,000 to finish it off,' said Inverarity.
'But I'll worry about that later because that wasn't in the budget.'
