TG Formation Day celebrated across state with pomp
Hyderabad: The 11th anniversary of formation of Telangana State was celebrated with pomp across the state on Monday, with the government, political parties and cultural outfits organising various events to mark the day.
President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and several other leaders greeted the people of Telangana on the occasion.
Telangana was carved out of Andhra Pradesh and accorded statehood on this day in 2014.
"Warm greetings to the people of Telangana on Statehood Day! This young state has a rich cultural heritage and a vibrant modern ecosystem of economic and technological development. I wish that the people of Telangana march ahead on the path of progress and prosperity," Murmu said.
Greeting the people of Telangana, PM Modi said that his government had undertaken many measures to boost their "ease of living". He said, "Greetings to the wonderful people of Telangana on their Statehood Day. The state is known for making innumerable contributions to national progress."
Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu said that though Telugu states were different, Telugu people and their community was one. Competing with each other in development, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh should reach the top position to emerge as unbeatable powers, he said, while calling on every Telugu citizen to be a part of this journey.

Indigenously developed weapons proved their might in Operation Sindoor: PM Modi
In his first meeting with full Council of Ministers after the launch of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said indigenous weapons had proved their might during the operation and noted that the nature of warfare had changed from before. According to those present at the meeting, Mr. Modi said priority should be accorded to 'Make in India' with regard to weaponry as much as possible. He said India had shown its might during Operation Sindoor. In a lighter vein, he noted that people in border States like Punjab might have been wondering where tanks and train loads of such weaponry were, as was the case in the past during such hostilities. 'The nature of warfare has changed,' he is reported to have said. He asked Ministers in his Council to identify five main successes in their departments and communicate these to the people, in the run-up to the first anniversary of the third Modi government and of 11 years of the NDA government at the helm of affairs. Ministers present at the meeting said he tasked them to be forward-looking and avoid comparisons to what was done in the past. 'See what needs to be done,' he is said to have spoken in his address. Presentations on the road map of projects under the Roads and Highways Ministry, and Railways were discussed and a presentation by the Jal Shakti Ministry was also done during the meeting. This was the first meeting of the full Council of Ministers after Operation Sindoor. Sources said the meeting also saw condolences being expressed for the victims of the Bengaluru stampede during a public celebration of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team lifting the Indian Premier League cricket trophy.

PM Modi chairs Council of Ministers meeting ahead of first anniversary of BJP-led government's third term

'Chaired a meeting of the Council of Ministers earlier this evening,' PM Modi posted on X. Sources said that a presentation on Operation Sindoor was made at the said all the ministries presented their key achievements, which are expected to be highlighted during the first anniversary celebrations of the PM Modi government in its third term. The sources said PM Modi is learnt to have talked of the performance of the Indian-made defence systems during Operation Sindoor and government's thrust on indigenization. They said PM Modi laid thrust on hard work to realise the targets set by the government. India launched Operation Sindoor as a decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack by Pak-sponsored terrorists in which 26 people were killed. Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the death of over 100 terrorists. India also effectively responded to subsequent Pakistani aggression and pounded its airbases. India and Pakistan agreed to stop military action after Pakistan's DGMO called his Indian counterpart on May 10. (ANI)
