Oktoberfest to return to Riverfront Convention Center in New Bern
NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) — The New Bern Breakfast Rotary Club has announced the return of the annual B/S/H/Oktoberfest to the Riverfront Convention Center in New Bern.
This charity event will be on Saturday, September 27th from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. To kick off the fundraiser, New Bern Mayor Jeffrey Odham will perform the 'Tapping of the Keg' ceremony on Wednesday, September 24th.
Traditionally, the Oktoberfest celebration takes place in Germany during late September and early October of each year as a famed beer festival and fair. In New Bern, The Little German Band and Dancers lead the crowd with singing and dancing, which includes the infamous Chicken Dance, in the true spirit of the traditional celebration. The popular Stein Holding contest will be available for people who want to test their strength and endurance!
The tickets will be $35 in advance, $40 at the door, includes admission, one traditional German-style meal and a nonalcoholic drink. There will be separate tickets sold for beer and wine. It will be $25 for active-duty military with ID, $5 for children 6-12, and free for children under 5. Advance tickets are available mid-August at Mitchell Hardware or can be purchased online. Sponsorships are available.

Town's carnival to return for better than ever event
Wallingford is expected to put on its biggest and best annual carnival event this month with the return of the traditional celebration. Wallingford Carnival will take place on Saturday, June 21 to bring summer cheer and community spirit to the historic town centre. Dating back as far as 1929, the carnival is firmly set in the community calendar with organisers believing the event in its modern form has been going on for more than 60 years. The event will include stalls, music and entertainment on the Kinecroft throughout the day starting from 10am, brought together with a spectacular carnival procession at 1pm. Stall pitches are already full with weeks to go before the big day, and schools, community groups, businesses and individuals are being invited to create a float to participate in the parade. Last year, floats included everything from tractors and trailers to children's walking groups, and even a donkey pulling a cart. The colourful affair is sponsored by Paul Simmonds, a removals company serving the community since 1973, New Home Improvement Group, and Ask4Support Ltd, an IT company in the town. A spokesperson for Ask4Support said: "Summer is coming and so is the Wallingford Carnival. This year the theme is 'summer solstice' and we are excited to be sponsoring this amazing event. "Expect live entertainment on the Kinecroft all day, plus lots of stalls and plenty of food and drink carts to enjoy. Businesses have been invited to join the carnival by decorating their windows on theme and enter a competition, with a prize for the best creation. The carnival is funded by income from its stalls, generous sponsors and small community grants, and put together every year by a small committee of volunteers to create a "spectacular community event."

Bold and the Beautiful Must Watch Moments June 6: Bill Throws Luna A Curveball
The Bold and the Beautiful must-watch moments for Friday, June 6, include Luna's attempt to work her magic on Bill, but he throws her a surprising curveball. Plus, Sheila opens up to somebody unexpected — Poppy. Sheila lets Luna's mom know all her worries about the younger woman's recent behavior regarding Steffy. It promises to be a day full of drama, and you won't want to miss a moment of the show. Tune in to CBS or Paramount+ to watch. Although Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) was so very thrilled to learn about her new granddaughter, Luna (Lisa Yamada), she was furious at Poppy (Romy Park) for her part in creating the young woman. After all, the reason Luna exists is that Poppy slept with Finn (Tanner Novlan) when he was barely an adult. Sheila didn't think that was a great move on Poppy's part, and so she let Poppy know. That led to things getting intense between the two. Now, Sheila knows that Poppy is set on taking Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) out of the equation. Sheila tried so much to stop Luna from her downward spiral where Steffy was concerned. As for Luna, if it wasn't for Bill (Don Diamont), she wouldn't even be free from prison to ignore her grandmother's warnings about Steffy. Luna managed to get him to help her get released to his care, which set this whole drama in motion. Nobody in Los Angeles (except perhaps Sheila) was happy with Bill's decision to help Luna out, either. MORE: Here's what you must watch this week on B&B.
