Emmerdale brings back character 19 years after debut for Joe Tate whodunnit
A soap actor has reprised his role in Emmerdale for a dramatic episode tonight, which will see someone push Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) out of a window at Home Farm.
Stephen Rahman-Hughes is certainly no stranger to soapland. It's possible you recognise him from EastEnders, where he played the role of Adam Bateman from 2018-2019.
The character was a foster child of Arshad and Mariam, and the local dentist in Walford.
Adam started a relationship with Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton), but he quickly started showing signs of being controlling and abusive.
He also had an affair with Habiba, a secret that was revealed in powerful scenes.
Adam left after a showdown with Honey, which resulted in her throwing what appeared to be a small bin at him, causing the dentist to chip a tooth.

Stephen recently returned to the Yorkshire Dales to film as a character he last played in the early 2000s.
He portrayed the role of DS Vikesh Dasari in the ITV soap in 2006-2007, and will be back on our screens this evening, as Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) will report Joe after learning he caused his spiking and limo crash in February. Who pushes Joe Tate?
Producer of the show Laura Shaw recently revealed this episode will have a few Easter Eggs linking back to an episode in 2006, when Jimmy King's (Nick Miles) dad Tom King was pushed out of a window at Home Farm. More Trending
The detective investigating the murder was Dasari, so he will certainly feel reminded of his past heading into the building tonight to deal with the same crime!
Joe is attacked by an unknown assailant at the end of the instalment, after his secrets about spiking Noah, sleeping with Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and stealing Caleb Miligan's (William Ash) kidney are exposed to multiple residents.

Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins has revealed the moment she first learned that Robert Sugden would be making a surprise return to the soap. She said: 'I found out because Danny [Miller] knew, and Danny and I are very good friends, and we talk and he said ''can you keep a secret?''... so that's when he blabbed to me, in the New Year, and then I just pretended I knew nothing. 'It's gonna be impactful and it's gonna be a big rumble, and people are gonna love it.' Of course, viewers are aware of John's murderous behaviour since he entered the village, and have been eagerly waiting for the moment his crimes are exposed. Aaron also remains blissfully unaware, and despite Robert's return, he decided to go ahead with his wedding to John. Code of Silence ending explained: What happened to Liam and Braden? Code of Silence saw Liam Barlow choose between the criminal gang and his relationship with Alison Brooks. Kieron Moore as Liam in Code of Silence (Image: MAMMOTH SCREEN/ITV ) Code of Silence has been airing on ITV and the explosive finale revealed what happened to Liam Barlow (played by Kieron Moore) and Braden Moore (Joe Absolom). The final episode started after the revelation Liam had planned to escape alone with the necklace all along. Ben Lawford (Nathan Armarkwei) was out of surgery, recovering from the gunshot wound, and the rest of the officers wanted to make sure putting his life on the line wasn't "for nothing". They asked Alison to text Liam so if he checked his messages they could locate him, meanwhile Alison and her mum were taken to a safehouse. Braden, who had been on the run, was blindsided that Liam had set him up. While Helen Redman (Beth Goddard) and Joseph Holhurst (Andrew Scarborough) were brought in for questioning. Unfortunately for the team, Helen still had the upper hand and she claimed the heist was all planned by Liam and Braden. Liam wanted Alison to run away with him Meanwhile, a surprising discovery was made about Liam, who had in fact changed his surname since his time in foster care. DI James Marsh discovered the man who was killed in the previous heist, Charlie, was in fact Liam's foster dad, whom he had cared for dearly. It transpired Liam had taken the necklace for revenge, wanting Braden and Helen to pay for what they did. Liam had set up a meeting with Alison and he asked her to run away with him, but she wanted him to testify against Helen and Joseph. Yet Liam, who did not want to end up with a lengthy prison sentence, could not contact the police. Alison was held captive by Braden After their meeting, Alison went back to the Canterbury Tap where she came face to face with Braden. Wanting to lure Liam back to him with the necklace, he held Alison hostage at a warehouse. Before handing over the necklace to Braden, Liam went back to his foster mum to say goodbye as he said he would need to spend his life on the run. He took the necklace to Helen in return for Alison, but, in a twist of events, he had also called the police. While Braden had a gun to Liam, Liam cleverly used sign language to tell Alison 'police, go' instead of 'please go', so she knew the police were coming. Joe Absolom as Braden Moore (Image: MAMMOTH SCREEN/ITV ) Alison couldn't believe Liam had given himself up for her, and on the day of his court hearing, he told her he was continuing to practice British Sign Language. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob, while Braden and Helen had also been taken down for their involvement. Joseph was arrested after being charged with money laundering. As for Alison, she and her mum moved into a new flat for a fresh start, and James surprised her with £50,000 for helping them. Code of Silence is about to bring the curtain down on its first season. The crime thriller has kept audiences on the edges of their seats throughout the last month. Just one episode is left and it is set to air on TV tonight (June 2) - although the full boxset is already on ITVX already. Liam hacks security and Braden gets his hands on the necklace, but is tricked into dropping it into the laundry chute. Braden gets into a gunfight and kills a bodyguard and injures police officer Ben. He manages to escape, while Liam also gets away with the necklace. Alison is arrested and interviewed by the police - who believe that she could have been involved in the heist. The episode opens with Alison and her mum being put into a safe house, while the search for Liam and Braden goes on. Alison attempts to visit Ben in hospital but is chased off by his wife. Liam's phone pings in Budapest, but the police are wary that it could be a trick because of how savvy he is with technology. Braden is sighted and the police raid a house, but he has left. Alison and her mum get used to their new surroundings, she is visited by DI James who explains that the evidence she has gathered will not stand up in court - especially due to her relationship with Liam. Rose Ayling-Ellis (R) in Code of Silence | Mammoth Screen/ ITV Before he leaves, DI James shows Alison a picture of Charlie, a foster father who died a few years prior, and she spots Liam's ring. It is suggested that the heist was organised by Liam to get revenge for Charlie's death. She sneaks out of the safe house and meets up with Liam. Once again, Liam attempts to convince Alison to come away with him - by taking a private plane to Belgium and then Brazil. But she tries to get him to go to the police to stop Helen and Braden. DI James visits Charlie's widow, who he has befriended after his death, and finally gets her to admit that she knows Liam. Dawn says he was Charlie's favourite and doesn't give him up. Charlotte Ritchie and Rose Ayling-Ellis in Code of Silence | MAMMOTH SCREEN/ITV productions Alison's mum finds a note from her, explaining that she is gone. She returns to the Cambridge Tap and speaks to her former manager - but he is reluctant to give evidence saying 'you don't cross people like Braden'. Braden video calls Liam and reveals that he is now holding her hostage. Alison is taken to an ominous looking warehouse by Braden, who is armed with a gun. Liam returns to Dawn's house and explains that all he did was for revenge - but ends by telling his former foster parent that Alison has been captured. He meets with Helen, who takes him to the warehouse and Braden appears again. He holds Alison at gunpoint and Liam hands over the necklace - despite her warnings that Braden won't let them go. Braden lets Alison go but orders Liam to get on his knees and he uses sign language to pass on a secret message to her - that the police are about to arrive. DI James and armed police swoop in and arrest Braden and Helen. He tells her that it was 'worth it' to give himself up to save her. The show then jumps forward two months and Alison joins DS Ashleigh in court. Liam appears, dressed in a suit, and signs a message to Alison before he is stopped by a bailiff. Liam pleads guilty to conspiracy to rob and Alison is later shown packing up to move to a new flat. DI James visits her and tells her that Joseph Holhurst has been charged for money laundering. He also reveals that her payment for her work as an informant has gone through - and it is shown to be £50,000. In the final moments he passes her a leaflet for a forensic lip-reading course and encourages her to take it.
