Who are Sleep Token? The UK rock band with their first UK number 1
Prior to this weekend the name Sleep Token may not have meant anything to you, but now you'd be hard-pressed not to know the UK rock band sweeping the charts in surprising measures.
The UK group have made history with their new album Even in Arcadia, which hit the number one spot in the UK and has topped the US Billboard Chart. Sleep Token have an air of mystery about them perpetuated by the fact they are masked at all times, even when they perform live.
Here is everything that you need to know about the group and who they are.
Sleep Token officially have two members known as Vessel and II, the group's leader singer and drummer, they are the only two to be given songwriting credits in the band. The group also have a series of touring members, who are also masked on stage and whose identities have remained anonymous.
The touring members are known as III (bass guitar), IV (lead guitar and backing vocals), and Espera (backing vocal trio).
Sleep Token debuted in 2016 with their first single Thread the Needle, which was followed by their debut album One. The group went on to release a second EP titled Two in July 2017 after they signed with record label Basick Records.
The group signed with Universal's Spinefarm records in 2019, and they went on to release their debut full-length album Sundowning in November that year. They have since signed with RCA Records and released albums Take Me Back to Eden before launching Even in Arcadia in May 2025.
The group have declared themselves as acolytes to an entity known as Sleep, which is why they are called Sleep Token. The band have spoken often about sharing "His message" with their fans.
Sleep Token pride themselves on their anonymity, and have done very few interviews to ensure that their identities remain a mystery.
The group's lead singer Vessel spoke with Metal Hammer in May 2017, one of the band's only interviews to date, where he spoke about the reason behind the group's anonymity.
"Our identities are unimportant," Vessel told the publication: "Music is marketed on who is or isn't in a band; it's pushed. prodded and moulded into something it isn't. Vessel endeavours to keep the focus on His offerings.'
Vessel also said: "How we got here is as irrelevant as who we are – what matters is the music and the message. We are here to serve Sleep and project His message."
The publication asked Vessel if he was worried that the band being masked would be seen as a "gimmick" by music fans. To this, Vessel said: "The standard concept of gimmickry is none of our concern. We are here to deliver a message; touch people in their hearts and subconscious minds. Soon, regardless of cynicism, you will all be followers."

10 Summer Sleep Hacks That Will Keep You Cool and Sweat-Free (Even Without AC)
Though it depends on the person, the ideal temperature for sleep tends to be around 65 degrees Fahrenheit (18 degrees Celsius). In the summertime, it can be hard to maintain this temperature in your bedroom -- especially if you don't have an air conditioner or turn off your AC at night to save money on your energy bill. Fortunately, there are sleep hacks that you can use during the summer months to keep cool and minimize sweat while you're trying to have sweet dreams. 1. Freeze your sheets and pillowcases An hour or two before you go to bed, toss your sheets and pillowcases in the freezer -- and no, they won't come out stiff as a board. They will stay icy long enough to help you fall asleep without feeling overheated. Read more: Best Cooling Sheets 2. Throw your socks in the freezer, too Along the same lines as freezing your linens, you can also freeze your socks for cooling relief. Extremities like your fingers, feet and toes are sensitive to temperature changes and play a role in regulating temperature. Keeping your feet cool can help cool down the rest of your body. 3. Use house fans to make your own AC Fans are much more energy-efficient and budget-friendly than an air conditioner. They use about 1% of the electricity that AC does. So, take advantage of fans and strategically place them around your room. Try placing a fan next to your bedside with a bowl of ice water in front of it. The ice will create cold air that the fan will blow toward you. Next, face a window fan outwards to blow the hot air from your bedroom outside. 4. Use a wet towel layer Lay a damp towel on your bed over your sheets to give your body some cooling relief while you fall asleep. I recommend you lay a dry towel underneath the wet one to avoid soaking your mattress with water, which can damage the foam in your mattress. The towel won't stay cold for the entire night, but it should stay cool enough that you can drift off to sleep. 5. Don't sleep in the nude You may see advice on the internet suggesting that you should sleep in the nude to stay cool. That might work if you sleep cool, but it won't do much for you if you get sweaty. If you're hot, it's beneficial to wear lightweight pajamas (such as cotton) that can wick the moisture away. Otherwise, your body is free to sweat all over your sheets.6. Consider cooling sheets, pillows and comforters If a new mattress is out of your budget, you can opt for cooling sheets or pillows for relief. Search for sheets made with breathable fabric like organic cotton, linen, or bamboo. Bamboo absorbs sweat and helps you stay cool, and organic cotton does a great job of wicking away moisture. 7. Consider a cooling mattress Many mattresses retain heat, especially beds made with standard memory foam. A mattress with cooling technology can actually make a big difference in how comfortable you sleep. It can either provide extra airflow and breathability or offer an actively cool-to-the-touch sensation that draws heat away from you, like Brooklyn Bedding Aurora. 8. Block out the sun and heat during the day Blackout curtains can prevent your bedroom from getting too hot during the daytime, especially in the summer. Not only do they keep your bedroom dark, but they also reflect heat, stopping it from entering through the windows -- which can also help cut down your electricity bill. 9. Sleep on the first level of your home Unfortunately for people in two-story homes or an upper-level apartment, hot air rises. That means the top story of your house will be warmer than the bottom floor. So, you can beat the heat a little by sleeping on the bottom story of your home when you need relief. 10. Drink ice water before bed Drink a significant amount of water before bed to try and counteract the night sweats. Also, avoid alcohol before bedtime as it can promote dehydration, making it more difficult for your body to regulate temperature and keep you cooler. 💬 Mourinho's cheeky quip ahead of the Champions League final 😅
This Saturday night, Paris Saint-Germain faces Inter Milan in the Champions League final, in a duel that promises to be electric. But a few days before the big event, an old legend emerged from the shadows to drop a little comment that caused a reaction. José Mourinho, also known as The Special One, has not lost his sense of the punchline. "I'm going to be very naughty, but very honest... I was afraid that Inter would win the treble. I didn't want them to win it. The treble is mine.", he said on Sky Sport. A nod to his incredible 2009-2010 season, when he led Inter to a historic treble: Serie A, Italian Cup, and Champions League. Since then, no Italian club has repeated this feat. If Inter's fans can see this as a touch of ego (well balanced), no one doubts the love that Mourinho has for Inter. 🇵🇹🗣️ José Mourinho :« Je vais être très vilain, mais très honnête… J'avais peur que l'Inter remporte le triplé. Je ne voulais pas qu'ils le remportent. Le triplé est à moi. » 😂🏆Le Special One …#Mourinho #Inter #Triplé #Légende — La Minute Foot (@La_Minute_Foot) May 29, 2025 This article was translated into English by Artificial Intelligence. Daily Weather Update from FOX Weather: Tropical Depression 1-E expected to become Alvin off Mexico's coast
Welcome to the Daily Weather Update from FOX Weather. It's Thursday, May 29, 2025. Start your day with everything you need to know about today's weather. You can also get a quick briefing of national, regional and local weather whenever you like with the FOX Weather Update podcast. The first tropical depression of the season, which formed in the Eastern Pacific, is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Alvin on Thursday during what could be a complex year for forecasters around the basin. Tropical Depression One-E is expected to remain far enough offshore that impacts along Mexico's coast will be limited to heightened swells and increased rip currents along beaches. Powerful thunderstorms swept across a large swath of Texas on Wednesday, producing damaging winds, hail and flash flooding that triggered water rescues and left thousands without power. The Austin Fire Department reported responding to around a dozen water rescues, with most incidents involving people stranded in vehicles or trapped in areas where floodwaters rose rapidly. Earlier Wednesday, fire officials in San Antonio responded to at least eight water rescue calls as flash flooding swamped the morning commute. An early-season stretch of heat is forecast to evolve Friday, peaking over the weekend across portions of the West. The FOX Forecast Center said Extreme Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories have already been issued for parts of California, Nevada and Arizona, where temperatures will likely soar into the triple-digits. This includes more than 14 million Americans through Saturday. If Redding, California, hits above 105 degrees on Friday, it will be the earliest the city has reached that temperature in 17 years (since May 17, 2008, when it hit 106 degrees). This would also be Redding's first 100-degree day of 2025. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed several bills into law aimed at cracking down on animal cruelty, including one inspired by a dog left abandoned during Hurricane Milton in 2024. The measures, named "Trooper's Law" and "Dexter's Law," were signed during a ceremony on Wednesday at a dog rescue facility in South Florida. Trooper's Law makes it a third-degree felony to restrain and abandon a dog outside during a natural disaster or the preparedness stage of an emergency. Talk about a wedding with a twist. These two New Mexico newlyweds kicked off their married life in an unforgettable way. For Daynnely and William Carrillo, their picture-perfect wedding day in Portales was punctuated by an extraordinary backdrop: a massive, developing tornado. As severe weather warnings began to ripple through Roosevelt County on Sunday, wedding photographer Chesnea Clemmons found herself in a unique position. "No clue this was even on the radar until my phone went off telling me there was a tornado in the area," she told FOX Weather. Here are a few more stories you might find interesting.
