The recall affects all 1kg packs of the meals, including all batch codes and all best before dates, as the Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued a 'do not eat' warning to customers.
A Tesco spokesman said: 'As a precautionary measure, Ballymaguire Foods has advised Tesco to recall a range of its own-label ready meals in Northern Ireland, due to the possible presence of Listeria Monocytogenes.
'If you have purchased one of the affected products listed above, please do not eat it. Instead, return it to any Tesco store for a full refund. No receipt is required.
'For any further enquiries, please visit our contact page: tesco.com/help/contact.
'No other Tesco products are affected by this recall. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused.'
What are Listeria Monocytogenes?
Listeria Monocytogenes are a bacteria that can survive and even grow under refrigeration and can cause Listeriosis which can last up to several weeks depending on the severity.
Symptoms include fever, vomiting and headaches, with some cases even resulting in convulsions.
In rare cases, the infection can lead to meningitis.
The FSA explained: 'Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.'

Thousands of contaminated tablets are urgently recalled in UK as Brits fall ill with ‘antibiotic resistant Salmonella'

THOUSANDS of health supplement tablets have been urgently recalled across the UK after people fell ill with a dangerous strain of antibiotic-resistant Salmonella. The recall covers Orgenism Eggshell Membrane Capsules, sold online and linked to rising salmonella cases across Britain. 3 3 The product was sold online via Amazon, eBay, and the Orgenism website. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued an alert confirming that Salmonella bacteria found in the product is not only making people sick, but is also resistant to several commonly used antibiotics — making it harder to treat. A warning has been issued to not eat the product under any circumstances and to avoid disposing of it in household waste or flushing it down the toilet, due to the risk of further environmental and public health contamination. All batches of the supplement, sold in 60-capsule packs, 500mg per serving, are affected. A spokesperson for the FSA said: "The Salmonella found in this product produces extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) and is resistant to fluroquinolones, tetracycline and fosfomycin." Symptoms of Salmonella include fever, diarrhoea, and stomach cramps. Anyone who has consumed the product and feels unwell is urged to contact a healthcare professional or call NHS 111 for advice. Consumers are also being told not to buy the supplement from any outlet, including market stalls, independent retailers, or social media, and to report any sightings of it being sold elsewhere. Orgenism has stopped all sales and launched a full recall. Customers are being offered a free pre-paid returns envelope and a full refund. Public health authorities stress that even if you feel well, you must return the product safely for proper disposal to avoid harming others or the environment. More to follow... Fred Sirieix hosts blind taste test as Brits claim they don't like food they haven't tried

Research has found that Brits have an average of eight foods they refuse to eat, with five of those being ones they have never tasted including sushi, black pudding and kimchi. A staggering six out of 10 Brits say they dislike foods they have never even tried, reveals a study. The research discovered that on average, Brits have eight food items they won't touch, with five of those being ones they have never tasted. ‌ Sushi, black pudding, and kimchi top the list of foods most commonly dismissed without a taste test, along with plant-based cheese alternatives and anchovies. Tofu, liver, and plant-based milk substitutes also made it into the top 10. Yet, paradoxically, 65 per cent boast of having adventurous taste buds, while 74 per cent claim they are open to trying new foods. ‌ ‌ The study was commissioned by Boursin Plant-based, which has partnered with TV foodie Frenchman Fred Sirieix, to investigate food biases by hosting blind tastings at food festivals throughout the summer. It comes after a writer claimed 'I tried butter from Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and big brands - and the winner is not Lurpak'. ‌ Fred Sirieix said: "Brits claim to eagerly embrace culinary trends and global flavours, but they can be particularly prejudiced when it comes to certain foods, and this is one of the biggest barriers to discovery. "Many ingredients including plant-based alternatives to cheese have huge negative preconceptions. But despite many claiming they'd be able to differentiate plant-based from dairy, even the most discerning foodies were fooled by this plant-based alternative to cheese when we let taste do the talking." ‌ Despite these findings, only 17 per cent actually confessed to being picky eaters. Six out of ten people claim they would be upfront when faced with a dish they were not keen on, while 28 per cent were willing to sample a small portion. Over half have changed their minds about something they thought they wouldn't like after giving it a go. The biggest motivators for trying new flavours were blind taste tests or learning about a food's health benefits. ‌ Seven in ten said they were adamant they would be able to tell the difference between dairy and plant-based alternatives to cheese - with nearly a half (46 per cent) willing to give it a go if it tasted as good as the 'real thing'. Fred Sirieix, on behalf of Boursin, added: "People are very clearly confident in their ability to tell dairy from plant-based alternatives but as we saw from experience, this was not actually the case. "In reality, less than 10 per cent of people at the Foodies festival were able to differentiate between Boursin plant-based and dairy. ‌ "It just goes to show - there's a whole world of flavours out there waiting to be explored if you're brave enough. "Even ingredients you might dismiss because of previous experiences, judgements, or assumptions can still surprise you if prepared in the right way. So, embrace the challenge and let the taste do the talking." Tesco recalls popular beauty and skincare product over nasty infection risk

The item could contain bacterium linked to respiratory diseases, urinary tract infections, eye infections, and even sepsis Supermarkets are fast becoming front-runners when it comes to beauty and skincare. Scots who previously went to drugstores and make-up countries for their facial bits may now be picking up dupes on their weekly food shop. ‌ However, one product from a major retailer is being whipped from shelves after being found to pose a potential infection risk, with bacterium linked to respiratory diseases, urinary tract infections, eye infections, and even sepsis. ‌ Tesco is recalling various Tesco Kind & Pure Facial Cleansing Wipes due to unsatisfactory microbiological testing and detecting the presence of a bacterium, Pluralibacter gergoviae, making products potentially unsafe for use. ‌ The item was swiped on Tuesday, July 29 as a "precautionary measure". The bacterium is "becoming a real concern in the cosmetics and personal care industry," according to Melbec Microbiology, one of Britain's leading UKAS accredited testing laboratories, "due to its resistance to many common preservatives and its potential to cause infections, particularly in immunocompromised individuals". Products affected ‌ Tesco Kind & Pure 25 Facial Cleansing Wipes 163g Affected batch codes: 5128723, 5129723, 5130723, 5123723, 5144723, 5145723, 5146723, 5163723, 5164723, 5168723, 5169723, 5188723, 5176715, 5177715 ‌ Tesco Kind & Pure Radiant Facial Cleansing Wipes Vitamin C 25 Pack 159g Affected batch codes: 5187723, 5186723, 5188723, 5154715, 5155715, 5156715 Melbec Micriology's website states: "Although infections in healthy individuals are rare, P. gergoviae can cause severe infections in people with weakened immune systems, chronic illnesses, or those undergoing surgery. The bacterium has been linked to respiratory diseases, urinary tract infections, eye infections, and sepsis." ‌ The contamination of cosmetic products with P. gergoviae has led to several product recalls in Europe. Cosmetic products should really be entirely free from this bacterium, the lab added. ‌ Thankfully, no other Tesco products are affected by this recall. If you have purchased an affected product, Tesco are urging you not to use it. Instead, customers can return it in-store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required. ‌ For more information, visit Tesco's contact page. Alternatively, you can also contact Tesco Customer Services on 0800 505 555. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! The supermarket has released an important safety warning for anyone who has bought the protein pot with the use by dates of July 31 and August 1. This is due to the potential presence of Salmonella, which could cause shoppers to become ill if they consume the product. If shoppers have bought the 90g Egg and Spinach Protein Pot with the mentioned dates, they are being urged to not consume the product, package up the item and return the product to their local Waitrose branch for a a refund.
