IPL suspended and PSL moved to UAE amid India-Pakistan tensions
The India Premier League (IPL) has been suspended for at least one week and the Pakistan Super League has been moved to the UAE amid rising tensions.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to suspend the remainder of the ongoing TATA IPL 2025 with immediate effect for one week.
The BCCI said the decision 'was taken by the IPL Governing Council after due consultation with all key stakeholders following the representations from most of the franchisees, who conveyed the concern and sentiments of their players, and also the views of the broadcaster, sponsors and fans'.

It added that further updates regarding the new schedule and venues of the tournament will be announced in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that the remaining fixtures of the HBL PSL X have been shifted to the UAE.
As such, the last eight fixtures, which were previously scheduled in Rawalpindi, Multan and Lahore will now be staged at the UAE.
The PCB confirmed that the remaining fixtures of the HBL PSL X have been shifted to the UAE. The following fixtures will be rescheduled accordingly:
Karachi Kings v Peshawar Zalmi
Peshawar Zalmi v Lahore Qalandars
Islamabad United v Karachi Kings
Multan Sultans v Quetta Gladiators

India: Complaint filed against Kohli by social activist over Bengaluru stampede
A complaint has been lodged against Indian Premier League (IPL) team Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman Virat Kohli by a social activist in connection with the Bengaluru stampede, news agency ANI reported on Friday. The report said that a complaint has been submitted at the Cubbon Park Police Station against cricketer Virat Kohli by social activist HM Venkatesh. The police have stated that the complaint will be considered under an already registered case and examined during the course of the ongoing investigation of the stampede incident. Former India captain Kohli had on Wednesday said he was left saddened by the tragic news of the stampede. "At a loss for words. Absolutely gutted," Kohli had written on Instagram, followed by a broken heart emoji. Police in India's tech capital had earlier in the day arrested four people, including an official of a top cricket franchise, in connection with the stampede during the IPL trophy celebration that killed 11 people and injured 47. RCB Indian had earlier pledged one million Indian rupees ($11,654) to each family of the 11 fans who died in the crowd surge outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium — the team's home venue — on Wednesday during celebrations following their maiden IPL title.

Abu Dhabi-owned Manchester City open retail store at Dubai Mall
Are you a fan of Abu Dhabi-owned English Premier League side Manchester City and want to get your hands on some cool club merchandise, but live in Dubai? Fret not. The 10-time Premier League champions have opened a new store at the Dubai Mall. It marks the second retail store of the 2022-23 Champions League winners after Yas Mall in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi. The outlet at Dubai Mall also joins flagship stores Manchester City Stadium Store and Arndale City store in the city of Manchester, England, as well as pop-ups in New York City and Seoul. Fans of the club, kitted by German manufacturer Puma, will have access to merchandise as well as some memorabilia collections. The store at Dubai Mall introduces an updated version of the brand's award-winning 'Field of Play' concept, designed to reflect stadium and fan culture.
