Texas A&M senior running back's health will determine the Aggies' 2025 offense success
Texas A&M's 2025 running back room has become a topic of conversation this offseason, both positive and negative, headlined by the health of senior back Le'Veon Moss and Rueben Owens, who are coming off season-ending injuries, which hindered the Aggies' offensive success last season.
While Owens played during A&M's 2025 Maroon & White spring game, Moss did not, mainly due to his continued progress to be 100% healthy before fall camp. Still, knee injuries are hard to predict when it comes to running backs, especially regarding how they're used in OC Collin Klein's system, which heavily relies on success on the ground.
The national media's opinion on Moss's role and potential impact is also based on Moss's health, Pro Football Focus college football analyst Max Chadwick stated that if Moss returns to his 2024 form, he will likely emerge as one of the top running back prospects in the 2026 NFL draft class.
"If he can come back 100% from that injury, he can emerge as one of the top running back's in the class."
Before Texas A&M's early November road game vs. South Carolina, Moss was on his way to rushing for 1,000-plus yards on the season, already accumulating 759 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 6.3 yards per carry.
Again, if Moss gets back to his 2024 form, we're talking about a potential second-round selection in the 2026 NFL draft, while, behind what should be one of the better offensive lines in the country, the sky is the limit for the Louisiana native and A&M's 2025 offense.

Experts Say Texas A&M's Kevin Concepcion Primed for Breakout Season

Experts Say Texas A&M's Kevin Concepcion Primed for Breakout Season originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Texas A&M football squad averaged just over 30 points and just under 400 offensive yards per game in 2024. Advertisement Experts say the Aggies could be even more explosive in 2025 — for a number of reasons: It will be head coach Mike Elko's second season on the sidelines after coming over from Duke after 2023. It will be quarterback Marcel Reed's second full season behind an offensive line returning all five starters. 2024 leading receiver Noah Thomas is returning after 39 catches for 574 yards and eight touchdowns. Leading rusher Le'Veon Moss returns after going for 10 touchdowns and 906 yards from scrimmage. These are important factors. However, the rocket fuel in the Aggies' 2025 attack is likely to come from three Top-50 pass catchers the program gained in the offseason transfer portal. These include Mario Craver and Micah Hudson, from Mississippi State and Texas Tech, respectively, and high NFL draft prospect Kevin Concepcion. North Carolina State Wolfpack wide receiver Kevin Concepcion (10) transferred to Texas A&M for Yamashita-Imagn Images A transfer from NC State, Concepcion is ranked solidly in the top 10 among all NCAA receivers. ESPN has him at No.10. NFL Draft Buzz pinned him at No. 9. And On3 listed the former Wolfback snagger as the third-best receiver in the 2024 transfer portal. Advertisement On June 12, Pro Football Focus — better known as — listed Concepcion as one of its 10 Impact Transfer Portal Players to Know. Yes, that's a mouthful. Nevertheless, Aggies nation should be pumped about Concepcion's upside. Concepcion was the 2023 ACC Rookie of the Year, and earned second-team All-ACC honors as a true freshman. That year, he also broke the NC State freshman record with 71 catches, 839 yards, and 10 TDs. On June 4, Elko talked to reporters about Concepcion at a Houston Coach's night. He had coached against 'KC' in 2023, when his Duke team smothered NC State 24-3. The freshman wideout still had 99 total yards that night, on six catches and four rushing attempts. 'I played against (Concepcion) his freshman year at Duke,' Elko said. 'He has been a really mature kid. He has that captain make-up.' Advertisement He's also a breakaway bandit. noted in its June 12 article that, since 2023, Concepcion is second in YAC (yards-after-catch) with 792, and is 14th in receiving touchdowns, with 16. That's not all. The versatile Concepcion ranks third among all returning wideouts in rushing yards with 357. He's a vial of nitroglycerin in an offensive room stacked with dynamite. Texas A&M Aggies Are Eyeing 3-Star Recruit Kaeden Johnson To Amplify Quarterback Position

Texas A&M Aggies Are Eyeing 3-Star Recruit Kaeden Johnson To Amplify Quarterback Position originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Though Marcel Reed hasn't been given the accolades he deserves in SEC rankings, his starting quarterback position for Texas A&M isn't locked down. Advertisement During the 2024 season, the Tennessee native threw for 1,864 yards on 147 passes and completed 15 touchdown passes. Marcel Reed scanning the field.@ Troy Taormina-Imagn Images As for other current Aggies, sophomore Myles O'Neill led his side of the spring game to a 19-7 victory. Reed found more success in the passing game than on the ground with 18 completions for 213 yards, but could not generate enough scoring drives. Class of 2026 4-star quarterback commit Helaman Casuga will also put pressure on Reed to pull together a well-rounded game under center. As a sophomore, Casuga put up 4,145 passing yards and 34 touchdown completions. Head coach Mike Credit: Maria Lysaker-Imagn Images But head coach Mike Elko isn't finished fine tuning his quarterback group. Advertisement As the Aggies search for another recruit, a 3-star quarterback out of Missouri City, Texas - also the home of Miami Dolphins' running back and former Aggie De'Von Achane - has hopped on their radar. Class of 2026 quarterback Kaeden Johnson is listed at No. 59 in his position and No. 150 in Texas, according to 247 Composite rankings. The 3-star recruit visited Texas A&M on June 12. In the 2024 season, he threw for 2,109 yards and 25 touchdown completions with a 60 percent passing rate. He also rushed for 571 yards and six touchdowns. For Reed to secure his spot, he needs to improve from the pocket and as a decision-maker. Especially if Johnson commits to Texas A&M, the quarterback competition only heats up down the line. Texas A&M DH announces departure, thanks Aggieland with heartwarming tribute

Texas A&M DH announces departure, thanks Aggieland with heartwarming tribute Texas A&M baseball's most integral leader shared a heartfelt and emotional goodbye to the Aggie faithful after becoming one of the program's most talented utility players in his graduate season in Bryan-College Station, Texas. In collegiate athletics, players come and go frequently. Especially in the current era of the transfer portal, athletes are leaving their respective universities to pursue their future endeavors. Loyalty and leadership are two qualities that are rare in this new era and are extremely important in building a roster filled with players who will lay it all on the line for each other. The Aggies did just that when they landed outfielder and designated-hitter Hayden Schott during last year's offseason. His ability to lead on and off the field earned him the No. 12 jersey for the 2025 season. Schott did the number justice, to say the least. He started 33 of 50 games this season for the Aggies and collected four homers and 34 RBI, but his contributions as a leader in the clubhouse were an invaluable trait that will be remembered forever in Aggieland. On Thursday afternoon, Schott posted a heartwarming tribute to his time wearing the Maroon and White this season, thanking the fan base for their undeniable support. Before his time in College Station, Schott was a standout outfielder for Columbia as he dominated his way to All-Ivy League honors in 2022 and 2023. Following his stint with the Lions, the Newport Beach, California, native quickly made an impact when he stepped on the field at Blue Bell Park. His contributions on and off the diamond earned him the Marion Pugh Spirit Award for his instrumental abilities in bringing unity to the team and his valuable leadership. Schott's charisma and personality instantly made him a fan favorite on the Texas A&M baseball roster this season. The 2025 "12th Man" will forever be remembered for his unwavering passion for his teammates, coaching staff and for every single member of the Aggie fanbase who stood by his side and constantly supported him throughout the ups and downs of the program's season that ended at the SEC Tournament at the end of May.
