The Texas A&M football squad averaged just over 30 points and just under 400 offensive yards per game in 2024.

Experts say the Aggies could be even more explosive in 2025 — for a number of reasons:
It will be head coach Mike Elko's second season on the sidelines after coming over from Duke after 2023.
It will be quarterback Marcel Reed's second full season behind an offensive line returning all five starters.
2024 leading receiver Noah Thomas is returning after 39 catches for 574 yards and eight touchdowns.
Leading rusher Le'Veon Moss returns after going for 10 touchdowns and 906 yards from scrimmage.
These are important factors. However, the rocket fuel in the Aggies' 2025 attack is likely to come from three Top-50 pass catchers the program gained in the offseason transfer portal. These include Mario Craver and Micah Hudson, from Mississippi State and Texas Tech, respectively, and high NFL draft prospect Kevin Concepcion.

A transfer from NC State, Concepcion is ranked solidly in the top 10 among all NCAA receivers. ESPN has him at No.10. NFL Draft Buzz pinned him at No. 9. And On3 listed the former Wolfback snagger as the third-best receiver in the 2024 transfer portal.

On June 12, Pro Football Focus — better known as PFF.com — listed Concepcion as one of its 10 Impact Transfer Portal Players to Know. Yes, that's a mouthful. Nevertheless, Aggies nation should be pumped about Concepcion's upside.
Concepcion was the 2023 ACC Rookie of the Year, and earned second-team All-ACC honors as a true freshman. That year, he also broke the NC State freshman record with 71 catches, 839 yards, and 10 TDs.
On June 4, Elko talked to reporters about Concepcion at a Houston Coach's night. He had coached against 'KC' in 2023, when his Duke team smothered NC State 24-3. The freshman wideout still had 99 total yards that night, on six catches and four rushing attempts.
'I played against (Concepcion) his freshman year at Duke,' Elko said. 'He has been a really mature kid. He has that captain make-up.'

He's also a breakaway bandit. PFF.com noted in its June 12 article that, since 2023, Concepcion is second in YAC (yards-after-catch) with 792, and is 14th in receiving touchdowns, with 16. That's not all. The versatile Concepcion ranks third among all returning wideouts in rushing yards with 357.
He's a vial of nitroglycerin in an offensive room stacked with dynamite.

2026 4-star RB re-affirms his commitment to Texas A&M

This weekend, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his staff are hosting 18 prospects from the 2026 recruiting class, including six commitments in the cycle, providing another opportunity to capitalize on the program's early success in landing recruits in four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, and four-star running back Jonathan Hatton, who are both being heavily pursued by other programs this summer. Hatton was previously committed to Oklahoma before re-opening his recruitment and ultimately committing to the Aggies in late March. However, the Sooners are still attempting to reel him back in, as the Cibolo (TX) native will take an official visit to Oklahoma on June 20. Still, over the past two months after his commitment, including this weekend's official visit, Hatton is completely locked in ahead of Early Signing Day in December. Advertisement On Saturday morning, Hatton reaffirmed his commitment to Texas A&M, releasing a video on social media (X) while sending a subtle message that his alliance with the Aggies remains strong, even with his OV to Oklahoma just a couple of weeks away. On the field, Hatton is an elite runner with the vision, footwork, and upfield burst to become a star at the next level, having produced 1,229 yards and 20 touchdowns while averaging 9.17 yards per carry. With Le'Veon Moss leaving after the 2025 season, bringing Hatton into the backfield lineup will provide immediate depth in 2026. According to 247Sports Composite, Hatton is currently positioned as the 77th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 5th-ranked running back, and the 10th-ranked prospect in Texas. Former Texas A&M Aggie star pitcher dominates TinCaps in breakout start

Former Texas A&M Aggie star pitcher dominates TinCaps in breakout start Awesomeness from Aschenbeck 👏 He's our second consecutive starting pitcher to throw seven shutout innings! Still 5-0 Cubs headed to the eighth.#SBCubs — South Bend Cubs (@SBCubs) June 13, 2025 One year removed from Texas A&M baseball's historic College World Series run, powered in large part by closer Evan Aschenbeck. Aggies fans found themselves holding their breath after the 2024 MLB Draft. Aschenbeck sought an eligibility exemption based on his JUCO playing time at Blinn College, hoping for one more season in Aggieland. But with no response from the NCAA, the 2024 NCBWA Stopper of the Year signed a pro contract with the Chicago Cubs as the 392nd overall pick. Now pitching for the High-A South Bend Cubs, Aschenbeck has posted a 3-3 minor league record, but the left-hander is heating up. Over his last five outings, he's worked 32.1 innings with 25 strikeouts and a sharp 2.44 ERA. His latest performance against the Fort Wayne TinCaps was vintage Aschenbeck. He tossed seven scoreless innings and five strikeouts, showing he's finding his rhythm at the next level. Below you can see his strikeout to end the seventh inning. Dwight Howard Urges Cooper Flagg to Return to Duke Amid $28 Million News

Dwight Howard Urges Cooper Flagg to Return to Duke Amid $28 Million News originally appeared on Athlon Sports. In the name, image and likeness (NIL) age, it pays to play college basketball. In Cooper Flagg's case, it pays around $28 million. Advertisement According to veteran sports reporter Howard Bryant, Flagg's solitary season with the Duke Blue Devils was very lucrative thanks to NIL deals with major brands like Fanatics and New Balance. Flagg's NIL agreement with New Balance netted him $13 million, the Fanatics sponsorship $15 million; both deals are set to follow Flagg to the NBA later this year. On June 25, Flagg is expected to go No. 1 overall to the Dallas Mavericks to tip off the 2025 NBA draft. But Dwight Howard, himself a former top overall pick, said Flagg should reverse course while he still can. Speaking on the "Nightcap" podcast with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson, Howard made the stunning claim that Flagg should return to Duke. His reasoning? With NBA contracts getting larger and the salary cap continuing to rise, Flagg could be a billionaire by the time he is 23. Advertisement "If he stays two more years and wins at least one championship at Duke, he's gonna get at least $100 million off college," Howard explained. "Then, when he goes to the league, the salary cap is gonna be higher for rookies. He's gonna make $500 million. ... He's gonna be a billionaire before he finishes his rookie contract." Howard, soon to be enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, signed a three-year, $19.5 million contract when the Orlando Magic took him at the top of the 2004 NBA draft. More than 20 years later, Flagg is expected to sign a four-year, $62.7 million contract with the Mavericks if Dallas selects him in a few weeks. Faced with the prospect of making millions right away or waiting another 24 months to do so, Flagg certainly has been advised to take the money the Mavericks are going to offer. That said, with the NBA's collective bargaining agreement set to be renegotiated in the coming years, Howard has presented an intriguing argument for future rookies to ponder.
