Man & woman arrested over Stephen's Day hit-and-run that killed ‘inseparable' married couple near Dublin shopping centre
TWO people have been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that killed a husband and wife in Blanchardstown, Dublin last December.
A 40-year-old man, and a woman in her 30s, were arrested this morning and are currently detained at garda stations in Dublin.

Anthony Hogg, 40, and his wife Georgina Hogg Moore were tragically killed on

In a statement this morning, gardai confirmed that investigations into the fatal collision are "ongoing".
A spokesperson said: "Gardai have arrested two persons this morning in relation to this fatal road traffic collision.

"A man, aged 40 years was arrested in connection with this investigation and he is currently detained under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at a Garda station in the Dublin.
"A female, aged in her 30s was arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Dublin."
More than 50 people gathered at the scene of the St Stephen's Day incident to pay tribute to the couple on December 27th 2024.

One pal said: "I am so deeply sorry for the loss of two beautiful humans.

"May they get the best bed up there and look after everyone left behind. Rest in perfect peace beautiful angels."
Another said: "I knew Anthony as a lovely man from growing up in Kilbarrack and Georgina as a lovely friendly face every morning on the school run.
"A truly beautiful couple that will be sorely missed. Sending love to the Hogg and Moore families."

Gardaí say four individuals entered the home of a couple, who are aged in their 60s, and assaulted and threatened the couple with a firearm. Four men have been arrested in relation to an alleged aggravated burglary that occurred at a residence in Shanganagh Cliffs, Shankill on Wednesday night. The incident is said to have taken place at approxminately 7.30pm in the evening. During the course of the aggravated burglary, four individuals entered the home of a couple, who are aged in their 60s, and assaulted and threatened the couple with a firearm. The 4 individuals left the scene in a vehicle and a electric bike. Four people arrested after couple assaulted during terrifying armed burglary
Four people, including two juveniles, have been arrested after a couple in their 60s were subjected to a terrifying ordeal in their home in Co Dublin on Wednesday. Gardai have launched an investigation into an aggravated burglary which occurred at a property in Shanganagh Cliffs, Shankill at approximately 7.30pm last night. During the course of the aggravated burglary, four individuals entered the home of a couple in their 60s and assaulted and threatened the couple with a firearm. The four individuals then fled the scene in a vehicle and on an electric bike. Emergency services were called to the scene and the owner of the home, a man in his 60s, was transported to St Vincent's University Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Gardaí also responded to the incident and officers attached to Shankill Garda station conducted a search of the area. Gardaí subsequently arrested three individuals when they stopped a vehicle and a fourth individual was arrested a short distance away, who was on a electric bike. During the course of the search of the area, a semi-automatic firearm was recovered. All four men - one aged in his 60s, one in his 20s and two juveniles - are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at Garda stations in Dublin.
