Minister of State for Panchayat and Agriculture Bachubhai Khabad has been a talking point in the corridors of the Secretariat after the arrests of his two sons in alleged scams related to the MGNREGA scheme in Dahod district, with Khabad having been missing from the meeting of the state cabinet for two occasions now. However, sources said that in the last cabinet meeting held on May 28, four other ministers were also not present for various reasons. The four ministers, sources added, were Parshottam Solanki, Harsh Sanghavi, Rushikesh Patel and Kubder Dindor.

The Prime Minister had also taken out a rally less than a kilometre away. The banners and posters congratulate and laud the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces. Kutch Collector Anand Patel told this paper that during the 'Operation Sindoor', people in Bhuj in Kutch district were among those who actively responded to calls for blackouts and other acts.

Ahmedabad: A memorial park in the form of a high-density micro forest dedicated to , India's military response to the Pahalgam terror attack, will be built near Bhuj town in the Kutch district bordering Pakistan. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Spread across eight hectares, the park, to be called 'Sindoor Van' (Sindoor Forest), will feature different sections dedicated to the Indian armed forces — the Army, Navy, and Air Force, as well as the Border Security Force (BSF), said Sandeep Kumar, chief conservator of forests, Kutch Circle. Kutch district shares both land and maritime borders with Pakistan. The site earmarked for 'Sindoor Van' at Mirzapar village near Bhuj includes a portion of land where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting on May 26 during his first visit to Gujarat after Operation Sindoor, he said. "We will grow nearly 80,000 plants, herbs, shrubs, and climbers of about 40-45 species in this park dedicated to Operation Sindoor to amalgamate the bravery and courage of our armed forces in this park," explained Kumar. The park will also serve as lungs for the town and spread a message of environmental conservation, he stated. "Operation Sindoor will be the central theme of this park. We will create different sections dedicated to the Army, Navy, Air Force, and BSF in the park and install murals of defence equipment and platforms such as INS Vikrant, drones, and the S-400 missile system to spread awareness," informed Kumar. During the event on May 26, Modi met some of the surviving women who helped in rebuilding the airfield in Bhuj, which was bombed during the 1971 war with Pakistan. "At that time, these brave women gave a sapling of the Sindoor (vermillion) tree to the PM. That gave us the idea of creating a micro forest on the Sindoor theme. We will also plant saplings of the Sindoor tree or Bixa orellana in this park," said Kumar.

BSF jawan injured during Op Sindoor returns home
1 2 Rourkela: A BSF jawan who was injured during Operation Sindoor at the Jammu border returned to his village in Sundargarh district on Monday. Manohar Xalxo (35) suffered fractures in his ring finger and severe wounds in his thumb when splinters hit his right hand during a Pakistani drone attack on May 10. "Around 6:30 am, Pakistan launched constant drone attacks and bombarded our area. While we were returning fire from our bunker, I was hit," said Xalxo, who was evacuated to a military hospital in Jammu. After receiving treatment and being discharged on May 26, Xalxo was granted four weeks' leave by his commandant Ajay Sharma. "Although I was injured, I feel proud that I fought for my country during Operation Sindoor, and we emerged victorious against Pakistan," said Xalxo, who joined BSF in April 2013. Xalxo's wife and two daughters, aged 4 and 1, reside in a rented house in Sundargarh, while his siblings live in his native Harasmara village under Gundiadih panchayat in Lephirpada block.
