Top 300 hitters for fantasy baseball 2025: Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt Jr. top the order

The schedule is filling up with drafts, and thanks to another overseas start to the MLB season — Dodgers-Cubs for a two-game series in Japan — we'll have baseball games that count in just two weeks (March 18-19).
This time of year, the softest part of the hitter rankings list for 2025 is the bottom 100, where your team's late-round needs will guide your preferences and decisions more effectively than rigidly adhering to the order in which I've listed these players.

Balancing low-ceiling everyday players (like Geraldo Perdomo) against platoon bats and players currently competing for their roster spot (Agustín Ramírez) is a challenging, albeit fun, exercise.
The usual caveats apply here: These hitter rankings are based on a 15-team, 5×5 mixed-league format, with a 14-hitter (two catchers) roster requirement and twice-weekly lineup changes.
As always, I'm happy to answer questions below or on any Rates & Barrels podcast in the days and weeks ahead.

Home Run by Cardinals' Pagés Rewards 12 Bettors with $83,334 in Bonus Bets

The St. Louis Cardinals series-opening 11-4 win over the Detroit Tigers Monday night turned out to be significant for a number of reasons. The Cardinals not only proved they could compete with the owners of MLB's best record, but thanks to Pedro Pagés two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, 12 lucky DraftKings bettors walked away with $83,334 in bonus bets. Beginning May 2, DraftKings Sports book has been running a 'King of the Diamond' promotion on select days, allowing participants to earn a share of $1 Million in bonus bets. Advertisement Those who opt-in, select anywhere from one to five players to hit a home run. If that player hits a home run and their team is the highest scoring team in the majors that night, participants win a share of the $1 Million prize. 12 participants selected Pagés to hit a home run Monday. Because Pagés was the only St. Louis player to hit a home run and the Cardinals put up 11 runs, the most of any MLB team that night, the 12 participants each won $83,334 in bonus bets. St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Gordon Graceffo (44) and catcher Pedro Pages (43) celebrateJeff Curry-Imagn Images Adding to the rarity, the 26-year old catcher isn't exactly known as a 'power hitter.' Through Wednesday, Pagés has 10 home runs in 322 at-bats, giving him a career HR/PA (home run per plate appearance) rate of .029. By comparison, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge has a HR/PA rate of .073. Advertisement Pagés did slug 16 round-trippers in 117 games with Double-A Springfield in 2023, but has never eclipsed 20 home runs in a full professional season since being drafted in the sixth round by the Redbirds in 2019. For those interested, the next DraftKings 'King of the Diamond' promotion is expected to occur Friday, May 23. Related: Cardinals Make Encouraging Announcement on No. 3 Prospect

Red Sox calling up top prospect Roman Anthony two days after 497-foot grand slam in minors

BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Red Sox are calling up top prospect Roman Anthony two days after the 21-year-old outfielder hit a 497-foot grand slam for Triple-A Worcester. Anthony will make his major league debut Monday night at home against Tampa Bay, batting fifth and playing right field, manager Alex Cora said. A second-round pick in the 2022 amateur draft, Anthony is batting .288 with 10 homers and 29 RBIs in 58 games this season. The second grand slam of the season for Anthony put Worchester ahead 9-4 in the eighth inning. He drove a 91.1 mph sinker from Carlos Romero deep over the right-center field wall, a drive that left his bat at 115.6 mph. Anthony hit the longest home run measured this year by Statcast, which this season tracks the major leagues, Triple-A and the Class A Florida State League. Since Statcast started tracking in the major leagues in 2015, only Nomar Mazara (505 feet in 2019), Giancarlo Stanton (504 feet in 2016), C.J. Cron (504 feet in 2022) and Christian Yelich (499 feet in 2022) have hit longer big league homers. ___ AP MLB:
