Stephen Fry on the secret to a successful relationship
Stephen Fry has discussed his marriage with Elliott Spencer, who is 30 years his junior, on Rylan Clark's podcast, highlighting their connection since meeting in 2012 and marrying in 2015. Fry emphasised the importance of cheerfulness as key to their successful relationship. He mentioned how he had to adjust his energetic mornings to accommodate Spencer's quieter nature, and vice versa. Fry noted that their age gap keeps the relationship interesting, with Spencer introducing him to new things like Kendrick Lamar and WWE (professional wrestling). Fry has become a fan of WWE and even purchased tickets for WrestleMania in Las Vegas, thanks to Spencer's influence.

Stephen Fry, 67, gives rare insight on age gap with husband Elliott Spencer, 36
Stephen Fry keeps his relationship with husband Elliott Spencer out of the spotlight but has made a rare comment about their 30-year age gap. The pair marked their 10-year wedding anniversary this year, having first met at a friend's party in the early 2010s. Last year, Stephen, 67, had to address breakup speculation as Elliott, 36, had not been seen with him for quite some time, with the Celebrity Traitors star reassuring fans all was ok. He's now spoken on Rylan Clark's new podcast — Rylan: How to Be in Love — about their 'successful relationship', getting candid about the ups and downs of the age gap. When asked about the secret to a healthy relationship, Stephen quipped: 'I can tell you how to have a successful relationship with Elliot, but that's probably not very helpful.' He shared that Elliott has introduced him to aspects of culture that he would never have considered diving into before. 'He teaches me things I just didn't know,' praised Stephen. 'He introduced me to Kendrick Lamar, which was a great thing to do because Kendrick Lamar I've decided is a great poetical spirit, a really remarkable figure. 'But that plus, now you're really going to laugh here because I thought, is he insane? He has a great affection for, and I guess you could call it ironic, but it's real — for WWE…' We're not sure Elliott's age accounts for this WWE fascination, as it was founded in the 50s, however, Wrestlemania did have a massive popularity boom in the 90s. Rylan, 36, asked if the presenter was 'now a WWE fan' to which he replied that he is and has even bought tickets for Las Vegas. When speaking about what makes a relationship so strong, the former QI host shared: 'I guess it's all the normal human virtues – some of which are forgotten virtues – but one of the most important human virtues, I think, isn't even really considered a virtue.' 'But it is one that changes the world. And it's not kindness, which obviously is important, but it's a subset of kindness, perhaps. And it's cheerfulness.' He explained that a cheerful person 'makes everything better', adding: 'They're like their own sunshine. So that's one of the things, if one is down to help the other come up…' Stephen has spoken about his struggles with depression in the past, having been diagnosed with cyclothymia, a form of bipolar disorder. 'Understand each other's differences as emotional human beings,' the St Trinians actor said. 'For example, I had to understand, and he had to understand, that I am extremely energetic and bouncy and chatty in the mornings at breakfast and he is not. More Trending 'So I had to find ways of just calming myself and he had to come up a little bit and not be quite so kind of, 'will you shut up Stephen!'' Stephen has said before that Elliott 'saved his life', revealing in 2016 after a tough stretch that his husband helps calm him – as well as getting his medication right. He has also shared that he was initially hesitant about persuing the bond he felt with Elliott as although he knew 'pretty much straight away' that he wanted to 'spend the rest of my life' together, he wondered if Elliott thought the same because 'he's got rather a lot more [life to go than me]'. Oasis member Noel Gallagher's old Bentley goes on sale for staggering amount
A Bentley once owned by Noel Gallagher has gone up for sale, with the news coming ahead of the musician going on the much awaited Oasis reunion tour with Liam Gallagher A car once owned by Noel Gallagher has gone on sale priced at £1.2 million. The Oasis guitarist's 1997 Bentley Turbo R has been listed, with it teased that the red vehicle is set to "strike a chord" with both fans and car collectors. The four-door saloon car listed on Auto Trader was previously owned by Noel, 58, although he can't drive. He once suggested that he gave up learning to drive after being mobbed by children whilst parked near a school on a lesson. Speaking about the sale, Erin Baker, editorial director at Auto Trader, told PA: "Cars listed by music legends don't come around very often, and Noel Gallagher's Bentley Turbo R is certainly one for the Auto Trader history books." They teased that it's expected to attract attention. Erin told the outlet: "With over 80 million visits to Auto Trader every month, we expect this rock 'n' roll ride to strike a chord with music lovers and car collectors alike." The car has the number plate 'OASI6 2'. It's in reference to the Britpop band Oasis, which was formed by the likes of Noel's brother Liam Gallagher in 1991. Noel has previously spoken about having once learned to drive. He spoke about his experience to Zoe Ball whilst a guest on her BBC Radio 2 breakfast show two years ago. Speaking about his driving lesson in the 1990s, he said in 2023: "I have had one driving lesson in the 90s and I was driving round a housing estate in Slough and [the instructor] said to me, 'if you just indicate and pull over here' then I pulled over." He shared: "She got out the car she said, 'I'll be back in a minute', she came out with her mum, she drove me to her house. Then the local comprehensive bell went and they all came out. This is at the height of Oasis-mania and I was like, 'never, never again'." As previously reported, Noel said on the radio show that he had been learning in a red Nissan Micra at the time. He recalled the vehicle having a "great big triangle on the top of it with an L". The news comes ahead of Oasis reuniting for a run of gigs this year in the UK and Ireland. The tour was announced last summer and comes following the disbanding of the group in 2009. The tour will launch at Cardiff's Principality Stadium next month. It will then be at Manchester's Heaton Park, London's Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium and Dublin's Croke Park, over the course of July, August and September. The group is then set to embark on a world tour. It includes gigs in Asia, South America, Australia and North America.
