Iranian army launches surprise military drills following IAEA decision

Saba Yemen12-06-2025
Tehran - Saba:
Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri issued an order on Thursday to begin a series of military drills called "Eqtedar," with the codename "Ya Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him."
The Iranian Army's General Staff Communications Center reported that Major General Bagheri offered congratulations on Eid al-Ghadir, explaining that the goal of these drills is to enhance the defensive and deterrence capabilities of the armed forces and assess their readiness.
The center stated that these drills are being planned and executed in light of the change in the annual calendar of the armed forces and with a focus on enemy movements, according to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA).
This decision comes after the International Atomic Energy Agency's Board of Governors adopted a resolution on Thursday alleging Iran's non-compliance with its nuclear safeguards obligations for the first time in nearly 20 years.

Iranian commander: Israeli occupier to receive graver response if commits new error

Tehran - Saba: The political assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Rasoul Sanai Rad, confirmed that the Israeli occupation "will receive a greater response than it did during the 12-Day War if it commits any foolishness" against Iran. He revealed that Iran "did not use all of its preparations for the 3rd Promise". Sanai Rad, speaking to Al-Mayadeen TV as part of its coverage of "The Nation Won," on Sunday and reported by the Iranian News Agency (IRNA) on Monday, confirmed that Iran was prepared in anticipation of an attack against it and had produced scientific documents before the Israeli occupation targeted its scientific centers. He emphasized that Tehran "expected anything from the occupation and took the necessary steps and measures." In the same context, Sanai Rad indicated that the United States inflicted some damage on Iranian nuclear facilities, but "did not destroy Iran's nuclear program, as US President Donald Trump claims." Sanai Rad explained that nuclear science today is "in the minds of our children," adding that Iran possesses the expertise that will enable it to achieve qualitative leaps in the future. The Iranian official added that the Israeli occupation never imagined that Iran could target the Weizmann Institute, adding that the occupation's mistake was that it "thought we did not have information about the targets we were striking." Sanai Rad said that the Israeli occupation "thought it could eliminate the regime," explaining that dividing Iran "is part of the plan for the new Middle East." He continued that the United States intervened in the war "when what the Israeli occupation was doing became a scandal." Regarding the targeting of the American Al-Udeid base in Qatar, Sanai Rad said that the radar installed by Washington was "of the latest type," and "perhaps this is one of the reasons we struck the base." Sanai Rad also emphasized that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution "emphasized that it is impossible to surrender to bullying, and told (the Americans and Israelis) that Iran is too big a morsel for them to swallow." Regarding the current situation between Iran and the Israeli occupation, Sanai Rad explained that what has happened is "a cessation of military operations, not a ceasefire." The Iranian official also emphasized that the Israeli occupation "will receive a greater response than it received during the 12 days of the war, if it commits any foolishness" against Iran. He continued, "Be assured that if they commit any foolishness, the response will be more devastating than the destruction in Khan Younis." In addition, Sanai Rad revealed that Iran "did not use all of the equipment it had prepared for Operation True Promise 3," emphasizing that it "would have used missiles with greater destructive power had the war continued." Sanai Rad reassured that Iran "has assets, particularly missile assets, that enable it to confront the occupation for a long time," noting that the destruction the occupying entity witnessed during "Operation True Promise 3" "demonstrated the extent of the damage the Revolutionary Guards can inflict." In a related context, Sanai Rad emphasized that confrontations with spies inside Iran "have turned into professional confrontations". He also said that the resistance has become stronger after "Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa," through "acquiring practical experience in confronting the Israeli occupation." Iran Questions Sustainability of Zionist Aggression Ceasefire

Tehran – Saba: The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, warned of the fragility of the ceasefire and the cessation of aggression against his country, stressing the lack of confidence in the enemy's commitment to its commitments. Major General Mousavi said during a phone call with Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman that the attack launched by the Zionist entity and the United States on Iranian territory came despite Iranian restraint and at a time when indirect negotiations with Washington were underway, according to Iranian media. Commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters: Our response will be harsher if Zionist Aggression repeats

Tehran – Saba: The Commander of Iran's Central Command Headquarters, Khatam al-Anbiya, affirmed today, Sunday, that the Iranian Armed Forces are closely monitoring enemy movements with full vigilance. He stressed that they are fully prepared to counter any new aggression and will respond even more severely if Zionist attacks are repeated. In a message of gratitude to the Iranian people for their steadfastness in the face of Zionist aggression, published by Tasnim News Agency, he stated: 'I assure you that your sons in the armed forces, under the wise and courageous leadership of the Commander-in-Chief, are in full readiness and will not hesitate for a moment to defend the territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its dear people, to fulfill the goals of the martyrs, and to confront any possible aggression.' He added: 'The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran proved during the Sacred Defense era that, despite limited resources, they were able to defeat their enemies with a strong and faithful will. Today, in addition to that unwavering will, they possess advanced, domestically-manufactured military and defensive technologies. Through these capabilities, they have delivered painful blows to aggressive enemies.' He continued: 'Despite extensive censorship and news blackout, the effects and consequences of these strikes have not escaped the world's attention. Every day, new dimensions of this historic punishment inflicted on the enemy are revealed. The aggressive American government has now resorted to pleading for the salvation of this cancerous tumor in the region, explicitly recognizing Iran's firm determination and calling for an end to the confrontations.' He concluded: 'Dear Iranian people, as has been proven repeatedly, America and the Zionist enemy adhere to no legal, moral, or international standard. Their dark history in the region shows they cannot be trusted. However, if they have any wisdom left, the recent war—even if it lasted only a few days—has taught them a lesson: 'O fly! The field of the Simorgh is no place for you to roam.'' Whatsapp Telegram Email Print
