Saquon Barkley Raises Bar For Himself After 2,000-YD Season originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles are ready to defend their throne as the defending Super Bowl champions. Following a season in which they weren't considered favorites to win it all, they have a target on their back.

Barkley was the face of the championship team, leading them to the No. 2 seed in the NFC with his 2,005 rushing yards on 345 carries (becoming the ninth player to run for at least 2,000 yards in NFL history) and 13 touchdowns.
The former New York Giants star didn't stop in the playoffs, helping the Eagles move past the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams and Washington Commanders, respectively, to advance to the championship game.
Barkley had a discreet Super Bowl performance, but that wasn't an issue for his team, which crushed the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 to win their second Vince Lombardi trophy.
In total, Barkley posted 2,857 yards from scrimmage and 482 carries in the regular season and postseason. He will enter his second season with the Eagles with renewed expectations, and his remarks on Tuesday put the rest of the league on notice.

Following his career year, Barkley decided to take things easier ahead of the 2025 season. The 28-year-old hasn't stopped preparing for the new challenges he'll face, but he's also given his body time to rest.

He told reporters that the heavy 2024 workload has been unnoticeable during he offseason.
'But the beauty of it is,' Barkley said, per NBC Sports. 'I don't know how many touches I had, nor how many yards, but it doesn't feel like it. I feel really good."
More than that, Barkley declared he's entering his best years, while maintaining that he's hungry to keep learning and help his team as much as possible.
'I feel like I'm entering my prime. I just gotta continue to have the mindset of listening to everyone, buying into whatever they want me to do. Whatever they want me to do, try to do it at the best of my ability.'

The Eagles have a stacked roster, despite the changes they underwent during the offseason. They added new pieces in free agency and via the draft, solidifying their case as the favorite to win Super Bowl LX.
Barkley won the 2024 Offensive Player of the Year award, but if he continues or improves his level of performance, his case for the MVP award may become stronger.

Dak Prescott: I want to win a championship for my personal being, my sanity
Dak Prescott is entering his 10th season. He still is looking for his first Super Bowl title. The Cowboys quarterback has a 2-5 postseason record and has never advanced past the divisional round despite being the No. 1 seed in 2016. The franchise won its last championship in 1995. Winning a championship is personal for Prescott. 'I want to win a championship,' Prescott said, via Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. 'The legacy, whatever comes after I finish playing, will take care of itself. I want to win a championship. Be damned if it's just for my legacy or if it's for this team. It's for my personal being, for my sanity. The legacy will take care of itself.' In his nine seasons, Prescott is close to career franchise records for passing yards (2,746 away) and passing touchdowns (35 away). He has become the face of the franchise, and the NFL's highest-paid player. Prescott has done a lot and not enough at the same time. 'It's hard to be reflective,' Prescott said. 'I think you have to, especially with how [his 10 seasons] have been. Some being injured; some getting to knocking on the door and not finishing it. What it does really is just makes you grateful for the opportunity. Every day you get to walk into this building, you're healthy. Every day you get to approach your teammates. You get to approach this game that you love.' Prescott is returning from a torn right hamstring, which ended his 2024 season in Week 9.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have rare date night in Florida at Stanley Cup Final: Photos
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have rare date night in Florida at Stanley Cup Final: Photos It's date night in "Florida!!!" for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who were in attendance at Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final. The couple showed up hand-in-hand at Amerant Bank Arena for the NHL showdown between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers in Sunrise, Florida. Swift had her hair back in a braided ponytail with her signature red lip. Towering in heeled ivory boots, she donned a beige romper at the NHL matchup. Kelce had a red matching sweatshirt, shorts and red-billed cap. In a clip posted to X, the announcer said, "Musical and sporting royalty arriving." ✨ In their #StanleyCup Final era ✨ Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce knew all too well they couldn't miss Game 4 in Sunrise 🙌 — Sportsnet (@Sportsnet) June 13, 2025 During the second period of the game, the couple was even photographed sitting with hockey icon Wayne Gretzky. The outing marked a rare public date night for the couple. Kelce, 35, is in the offseason following his Super Bowl loss with the Kansas City Chiefs in February, falling short of a three-peat trophy win. Swift's in an offseason of her own, having wrapped her record-setting, nearly 150-show Eras Tour in December. The two have recently been spotted out and about in South Florida while Kelce is reportedly renting a property in Boca Raton. Over the previous weekend, the duo traveled north to make a grand appearance at Kelce's cousin Tanner Corum's wedding in Knoxville, Tennessee. The internet was flooded with various selfies and family photos Swift took with fellow guests. And, of course, the Florida date night comes on the heels of Swift's major victory in buying back the rights to all of her recordings, artwork and other materials related to her first six albums from her time with Big Machine Records, ranging from 2006's "Taylor Swift" to 2017's "Reputation." Should the Panthers win Game 4, they would just need one more win to secure their second straight Stanley Cup victory. If the Oilers from up north win, the series will see a 2-2 tie. Dillon Gabriel Gets Good News After Browns Minicamp
Dillon Gabriel Gets Good News After Browns Minicamp originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Oregon Ducks just put up one of their most successful seasons in the program's history. Not only did they finish the regular season undefeated in their first year in the Big Ten, but they also won the conference championship game against Penn State. Advertisement As a result, the Ducks received the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff after barely missing out on making it with Bo Nix the year prior. Oklahoma Sooners transfer Dillon Gabriel led them at the quarterback position. Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel (8).© Gary A. Vasquez-Imagn Images Dillon Gabriel gets good news during Browns minicamp While the Ducks fell to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl, that didn't put a stop to their success. In April's NFL Draft, 10 Ducks were selected, the most in a single draft in program history. Many were shocked to see Gabriel be selected as high as he was when the Cleveland Browns took him in the third round. Even more surprising was the fact that they drafted him with Shedeur Sanders still on the board. Advertisement Now, the two are battling it out in Browns minicamp. While some out there believe in Sanders, Gabriel has received good news regarding his current standing with the team. In their 11-on-11 drills, Gabriel has been seen working with the first-team offense, something beat writer Mary Kay Cabot believes is significant. 'I think it's very significant right now that they're throwing first-teamers at Dillon," wrote Kabot. "Dillon is playing with the first-team offense against the first-team defense. I mean, those are choice quality reps that he's getting.' The Browns are one of the more intriguing quarterback battles around the league, with Gabriel, Sanders, Joe Flacco, and Kenny Pickett. Advertisement 'The Browns are positioning Gabriel to potentially serve as the backup quarterback behind a veteran starter, likely Joe Flacco or Pickett," Kabot wrote. "Sanders, meanwhile, is on a longer developmental timeline.' Things can change between now and the team's official training camp in August, but the Browns have seemingly liked what they've seen from Gabriel if they're not afraid to throw first-team reps at him. While he's not the biggest, Gabriel has a solid arm with great ball placement. They likely won't build around him, but they can likely keep you competitive in a game if he's thrown into the game in an emergency situation.
