1.5 Million Users to Access Bitcoin's Lightning Network on Xverse thanks to Sati

Sati, a Bitcoin payments app and Lightning infrastructure provider, today announced the launch of its Lightning integration with Xverse, a Bitcoin wallet used by over 1.5 million people worldwide. Thanks to the integration, Xverse users can now send and receive sats (Bitcoin's smallest denomination) instantly over the Lightning Network with no setup, no app switching, and no custodial risk.
Initially designed in 2017, the Lightning Network has grown to become Bitcoin's leading layer-2, with a current BTC capacity of over $465M. Sati is now leveraging this technology to bring the world's favorite digital currency into the pockets of almost 3 billion users worldwide, thanks to its powerful API integration with WhatsApp.
'Bitcoin was not meant to be an asset for Wall Street—it was built for peer-to-peer money, borderless and accessible,' said Felipe Servin, Founder and CEO of Sati. 'Integrating Lightning natively into Xverse brings that vision back to life, making Bitcoin usable at scale for billions.'
Thanks to the integration, every Xverse user now gets a Lightning Address instantly. That means they can receive tips, pay invoices, and use Bitcoin for microtransactions—all without having to manage channels or switch between different apps. Sati expects USDT on Lightning to be supported as early as Q3 for the Xverse wallet and in July 2025 for users accessing Sati through WhatsApp.
This integration positions Sati's role as a Lightning infrastructure provider, not just a consumer app. By leveraging its API-based solution, the company provides plug-and-play backend services to wallets and platforms looking to add Bitcoin payments without compromising on security or UX.
The Xverse launch follows the debut of Parasite Pool, a new mining pool leveraging Sati and Xverse's tech stack and focused on democratizing Bitcoin mining. Parasite Pool charges 0% fees and pays out instantly over Lightning, making it ideal for small-scale miners, especially those running ultra-low-power hardware like Bitaxe.
With over 500 users joining Parasite Pool within weeks of launch and an average pool hashrate of 5 PH/s, Parasite Pool is steadily growing its presence in the home mining space. Thanks to the Lightning integration, Parasite Pool supports the smallest Lightning payouts in the industry (a fraction of a cent), lowering the barrier to entry for anyone interested in mining.
Sati recently closed a $600K pre-seed round backed by Bitcoin-focused investors, including Draper Associates, BitcoinFi, Arcanum, BoostVC, and Ricardo Salinas. The funding is being used to support global expansion, stablecoin integration, Lightning infrastructure growth, and broader access to Bitcoin in emerging markets.
Sati will be conducting live product demos at Bitcoin 2025 in Las Vegas on May 27-29. To learn more about Sati, visit sati.pro

Jets Carving New Role With 4th-Round Speedster

Jets Carving New Role With 4th-Round Speedster originally appeared on Athlon Sports. When the New York Jets drafted Arian Smith with the fourth-round selection during the 2025 NFL Draft, some of the fan base recoiled. Advertisement Why? Despite leading Georgia in receiving categories last year, he also had one of the highest drop rates in college football. Add in a rough injury history, and many people thought New York reached for Smith. Through the first month of practices at the team facility, though, Smith has been anything but a reach. He has utilized his speed well, and also has made strong strides in catching the football. It is clear that the Jets may have something in the fourth-round project. And they are going to do everything they can to get him on the field as often as possible. Special-teams coordinator Chris Banjo explained exactly how. Advertisement Banjo, himself a former special-teams star, explained that the team was working Smith as a potential punt returner on Thursday. It is, physically, a fit. While Smith is not guaranteed a role in that regard, the fact that he has been willing to work in any capacity shows that the Jets drafted a player committed to the task at hand for the team. ... And someone who may have some hidden gifts that can make him a commodity for New York in 2025. Our bet? The Jets are going to carve out a role for Smith, almost no matter what. And the fact he has started to work on special teams is evidence of that and also shows that he's willing to do whatever he can to see the field. Ex-New York Jets Haason Reddick Stirring Drama For New Team

Ex-New York Jets Haason Reddick Stirring Drama For New Team originally appeared on Athlon Sports. For most NFL franchises, the saga between Haason Reddick and the New York Jets would have been the major storyline of the season. Unfortunately for the Jets, the 2024 season was full of sideshow attractions that, for some, led to Reddick's situation flying a bit under the radar. Advertisement 2024 was nothing short of disastrous for the Jets and Reddick. The Jets traded for Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles, hoping to rework his contract and add his perennial double-digit sack contributions to their already mega-talented defense. In typical Jets fashion, it wasn't as easy as it sounds. Reddick held out for nearly half the season, finally getting a reworked deal midseason, and Reddick had the worst year of his NFL career. In 10 games and two starts, Reddick had just 14 tackles, only two for-loss, and one sack. Reddick had as many sacks as Bruce Hector, who played 118 defensive snaps for the Jets last season after getting called up from the practice squad for six games. Still, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Reddick to a one-year, $14 million deal, hoping to revitalized the disgruntled Reddick. it didn't take long for red flags to appear for Reddick, who was notably absent from the Buccaneers' first open-media OTAs this week. Advertisement These practices are voluntary, but most teams have recorded full attendance by this point in the offseason. Head coach Todd Bowles didn't inspire confidence with his newest defensive addition, either 'I'm sure one of these days we'll see him,' Bowles said, perhaps passive-aggressively. Reddick's tenure with the Jets remained a footnote on the 2024 campaign from hell. The Jets traded for Reddick in April of 2024, and by August he had requested a trade from the Jets after missing the entirety of training camp. At the time, then-general manager Joe Douglas stated that the Jets would not trade Reddick, and that "he is expected to be here with his teammates, and that he will continue to be fined per the CBA if he does not report." Come October, the Jets permitted Reddick to seek a trade, and five days later the two sides agreed on a reworked contract, ending his holdout. Reddick then played the least-productive football of his career, but he did earn himself a contract with the Buccaneers, paying him $14 million per sack he recorded with the Jets. 'I think I can be great,' Jets QB Justin Fields says. 'That's been the goal for me my whole life, my whole career.''

'I think I can be great,' Jets QB Justin Fields says. 'That's been the goal for me my whole life, my whole career.'' originally appeared on Athlon Sports. "I can be great.'' Those are four powerful words from freshly-minded New York Jets starting quarterback Justin Fields. And all the Jets need is ... Advertisement For them to come true. Former Ohio State Buckeye standout Justin Fields inked a two-year, $40 million contract with the Jets this offseason to make the jump from the Pittsburgh Steelers, a move that reunites the athletic QB with his former college teammate and Jets star Garrett Wilson. That is one reason for some optimism here. But ... Fields was never able to put it all together with the Chicago Bears, who selected him with the No. 11 overall pick in 2021. He was dumped to the Steelers a year ago, and Fields experienced something of a reclamation year in Pittsburgh, going 4-2 as a starter before Russell Wilson became healthy enough to reclaim the starting spot. Advertisement But now? With no clear competition for his starting role, Fields has the job ... and has high hopes for his first year as a Jet. 'I think I can be great,' Fields said this week. 'That's been the goal for me my whole life, my whole career. I think the sky's the limit for this team, for this offense, but we do have a long way to go.' OK, actually, that's a powerful six-word statement. But "I can be great'' needs to resonate here for a Jets franchise that in recent seasons has believed it has a talented roster ... and yet so rarely turns the corner. Last year? A massive commitment was made to Aaron Rodgers and it resulted in a 5-12 season. To some degree, Fields has a low bar in the sense that it won't be all that hard to be more successful than Rodgers and that bunch. Advertisement And of course, he's not alone in the fight, with new head coach in Aaron Glenn also helping lead a change in direction. But "desperation'' here is real. New York needs this to work. If Fields can excel as the Jets' starting quarterback, it'd be a steal of a contract for the Jets. With just a $20 million salary, Fields will be one of the lowest-paid veteran starting quarterbacks in the NFL. And it would be "great'' for that to pay off.
