On Amazon, this kit has amassed over 1.6k reviews, with the majority bestowing 5-stars. One happy customer who picked up this Gardena kit says: "Our potted plants were still in perfect shape after being alone for more than a month during summer vacation. It's good to have some trial period before the vacation to see what is the right amount of water for each plant (we have 5 plants from big to small with very different needs)."
Another beams: "Just before I had to leave for 3 weeks, I realized that during this period no one can pour my flowers in the apartment. Family and friends live too far away and I didn't want to entrust my key to my neighbors. So I inquired on the Internet about solutions and came across automatic irrigation systems like this one relatively quickly. These are already available for from 20€, but the ratings are also accordingly mediocre. Therefore, I decided on more expensive variant of gadena and I did not regret it. The quality of all components is excellent from my point of view. In the scope of delivery there is plenty of hose, which can be individually and easily cut to size. For the first setup for my 7 indoor plants I took about an hour, whereby I also took time and wanted to do everything very carefully. So this is certainly faster."
Though this shopper does note: "I have been using this system year round for 3 years. It takes care of the plants that are awaiting display in my home. If I'm away I move all plants to the corner where it is set up. It is somewhat fiddly to set up, but so worth it. I'm probably going to get a second set."
You can pick up this set for £70.97, down from £114.48, over on Amazon. Or, you can buy a smaller at-home watering kit from Gardena at Debenhams for £26.98. Meanwhile, over at B&Q, shoppers can pick up this Mighty Dripper Greenhouse Plant Watering Irrigation System Gravity Fed Water Drip Kit for £16.99.

Dad-of-two killed in Air India crash after scattering wife's ashes in final wish
Arjun Patolia's daughters are just eight and four years old. A father of two young children who had travelled to India to scatter his late wife's ashes was tragically killed in Thursday's horror plane crash as he returned home. Arjun Patolia had been visiting the city of Amreli, in northern India, and was due to fly back to London on June 12. However, it was later confirmed he was one of the passengers on board the Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick. His wife Bharatiben had sadly died in London a week earlier, but one of her final requests was for her husband to take her remains back to India. He visited the Narmada River, a sacred place in the Hindu faith, with many people having their ashes scattered in rivers to purify the soul and ensure spiritual liberation. He then took part in funeral rites with family members in his village, which is around 150 miles from Ahmedabad, the Mirror reports. The couple had two daughters, aged eight and four, who live in London, according to local Indian media. Arjun's mother still lives in the city of Surat. The plane plunged to the ground just minutes after take-off at around 1.38pm local time on Thursday. It struck a residential area, with horrifying footage capturing the moment it fireballed. A "mayday" distress call had been issued by the crew, indicating an emergency on board. However, no further communication was received, with flight tracking service Flightradar24 reporting it lost signal from the aircraft seconds after it left the ground. Footage from eyewitnesses captured the moment the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner descended with its nose pointing upwards before disappearing out of sight. Seconds later, a loud explosion could be heard, followed by a huge fireball and thick smoke billowing into the sky. A British man is believed to be the sole survivor of the terrifying crash. Vishwash Kumar Ramesh claimed he was in seat 11A on the plane, and said he heard a loud noise around 30 seconds after take-off. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! I stood up and ran. There were pieces of the plane all around me. Someone grabbed hold of me and put me in an ambulance and brought me to the hospital." His family said they had "no idea" how Vishwash had survived, but added his older brother Ajay was also on the flight. His younger brother Nayan Kumer Ramesh, 27, said: "We were just shocked as soon as we heard it. I last spoke to him yesterday morning. We're devastated, just devastated. He said I have no idea how I exited the plane."

'Genius' gadget hailed for preventing neighbour's cats from ruining your garden
The YurDoca Cat Repeller is a solar powered animal repeller that works by detecting motion and then deterring animals through various frequencies of ultrasound, bright light and sound Nothing quite rivals the annoyance of discovering a neighbour's cat has taken liberties with your garden space. For those plagued by feline intruders leaving unwanted 'gifts', thousands of Amazon users are championing an affordable gadget. The YurDoca Cat Repeller, available for £22.99, harnesses solar power to scare off animals using a combination of motion detection and deterrent measures like ultrasound, bright flashing lights and alarming sounds. The device boasts a variety of adjustable frequencies tailored to repel a range of animals to fit any specific concern. Touted by Amazon as "easy to install" - requiring only pipe assembly from the provided kit before placement in the ground - the product vows to fend off unwanted visits from cats, foxes, badgers, bats, and rodents alike, reports the Express. Sporting an impressive 4.5 out of 5 stars from reviewers, one satisfied customer proclaimed: "Even my dog leaves the yard in retreat from these! We have neighbouring cats that love to soil our plants. We bought two of these and they work a charm." Another satisfied consumer added their endorsement: "Good unit to keep cats and birds away from vegetable patch and freshly dug soil." A third reviewer shared their success story: "I have tried everything in the past to keep cats from using my garden as a toilet. Nothing really worked until (I) bought this product. I have not had any issues since installation. Cats still come in the garden but no mess left behind. I'm happy up to now. Hope it lasts!". One relieved customer couldn't hide their elation: "I was absolutely desperate after months of a neighbour's five cats using our grass as their toilet, nothing I hadn't googled and tried!! "I researched these repellers, reviews were good... I can't actually believe it seems to work, not 1 single poo since it's been in the garden and it's been there 2 weeks now at least, yay!! Let's hope it keeps working, order this one I'm really impressed and overjoyed to not be picking up daily vile poo!!" On the other hand, there was a less satisfied customer who remarked: "Had the thing set up on the cat's normal fouling area and the next morning there's poo right in front of it. Save your money." Someone else voiced their frustration, saying: "Just got this and turned it on and stuck it in my garden. So far it has not stopped blinking and beeping. Nothing is moving. This thing will have flat batteries in about 5 minutes. It's far too sensitive." In related news, BandQ offers the Pestbye Battery Powered Cat Repellent Ultrasonic Repeller for a comparable price of £21.99, while The Range features a more budget-friendly repellent spray for just £5.99.

Dad who is tackling toxic masculinity nominated for Pride of Britain award
Kevin Stoodley founded revolutionary project to help'overlooked' young dads gain confidence and parenting skills has helped over 700 men since launch A father of two who launched a revolutionary project helping young dads in the North East has been nominated for a Pride of Britain Local Hero award. Founded by Kevin Stoodley, North East Young Dads and Lads (NEYDL) in Gateshead, gives social, financial and practical support to fathers under the age of 25 from across the region. Working with just 10-12 young dads when it launched in 2017, the project now helps more than 250 men annually. And Kevin, who originates from Birmingham, says he has made it his life's work to tackle the kind of toxic masculinity promoted by influencer Andrew Tate. The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards with P&O Cruises celebrate the nation's unsung heroes, from children of courage and heroic blue light workers to local heroes such as Kevin. A former youth worker, Kevin, 49, who has a son Sam, 17, and daughter Freya, 22, now lives in Northumberland and says that, after moving to the North East in his twenties and later working on a project supporting young mums, he realised there was little support for young dads in the Gateshead area. He tells The Mirror: ' I started looking into whether the dads could be supported in any way., connecting them with other young dads through WhatsApp groups. ' What was clear was that the young dads were a problem that needed to be fixed but, actually, they needed support too. 'They are being ignored, overlooked by services and unfairly judged. " What I encountered was young men who were really isolated. Often, young dads don't meet other young dads. It's historically the case that being a young parent is something to be derided and caricatured as feckless.' Almost all the young men who access the charity—91 per cent—experience isolation and loneliness. Kevin, who is married to Ancha, 49, realised young dads also needed support in areas such as housing, parenting and relationship skills and mental health. They needed advice around social care and court proceedings. He says: "My son Sam is the same age as the young dads we work with. I see the challenges they go through - like being seen in a negative light - when all they need is support.' He also thinks young dads feel they don't deserve the same support as young mums. "As a first-time parent in my late twenties, I recall having questions for the health visitor or midwife, and not being given that time to ask them or to learn, because the focus was certainly much more on mother—and child,' he says. 'I didn't face the level of stigma that younger dads face now. We live in a world at the moment where there's an awful lot of focus on the negativity about young men, in terms of the landscape, in terms of Andrew Tate, in terms of the response to the recent Netflix series Adolescence, which looks at toxic masculinity in children. "We often encounter young men who historically have been written off because of their lives and their choices, their age and where they live. 'But what we're seeing at NEYDL is that these young men, with the right support, can absolutely flourish and make a positive contribution to their families, their children, but also to society.' Some of the young fathers Kevin has supported have even gone on to work for the project, helping other young dads. The group, which was set up in 2017, offers activities for young dads where they can open up in a non-pressurised environment, as well as offering toddler play sessions that they can bring their kids to. This year, so far, NEYDL, which is a charity, has worked with 250 young dads. In all, the team of 16 employees, plus more than 100 volunteers, have worked face-to-face with 700 plus dads. "We also have an award winning e-learning platform called Digi Dad, which is reaching young men across the country and beyond,' says Kevin. 'What we're trying to do is create cultural change - a real shift in thinking. trying to raise men's sense of self and sense of belonging. So these young men now are more confident to ask for help and to expect a quality of care that they never had before from services.'
