Nearly 400 new homes could be built on farmland in Prestatyn
On Tuesday (July 8), a consultation period with residents began, and this will conclude on August 8.
The site earmarked for the development covers an area of 24.15 acres, with an additional 11.55 acres to be used for public open space areas.
All 390 of the new homes would be two storeys high, and would comprise 12 one-bedroom, 91 two-bedroom, 228 three-bedroom, and 59 four-bedroom units.
Castle Green proposes that 273 of these properties will be made available for 'open-market sale' and the remaining 117 will be 'affordable housing'.
Access to the development would be via Ffordd Pant Y Celyn and Ffordd Ffynnon.
The company added: 'A series of financial contributions to provide funding for local public facilities and infrastructure will also be offered, with this and the affordable housing provision to be secured by the Council through a legal agreement.
'The new homes, roads and associated landscaping proposed will be designed and constructed to a high standard and will be entirely in keeping with the context of the local area.
'The development will offer a well-considered and attractive place to live for future local residents.'
Castle Green Homes was also the contractor for housing association Adra's 102-home development on the Plas Newydd Farm site, which was finished in 2024.

Readers express disappointment as Caffi Florence set to close
Earlier this week, The Leader reported on the announcement that Caffi Florence, based at Loggerheads Country Park, would be closing for good. The cafe has been based at the park, between Ruthin and Mold, for more than a decade. It was taken over by the staff in 2014 and initially became a workers cooperative. Over the years, as staff left to pastures new, the running of the business became the primary responsibility of Nicola Price-Rohan, the front of hose manager and Catherine Metcalfe, who is head chef. The pair have been running the business as a partnership since June 2017 and even managed to retain all their staff through the Covid pandemic and refurbished for a re-opening. But, there was disappointment for visitors recently when the team confirmed that Caffi Florence would be closing for good as of August 31. Speaking to The Leader, Nicola cited a dispute with Denbighshire County Council as the main issue. She said that work to improve flood defences and renovated dated buildings, would have seen a significant rent increase for them. She added that the cafe's regular customers, and their dogs 'have been the backbone' of the business over the years. In response, Denbighshire Council said it was 'disappointed with the outcome'. Also left disappointed are our readers who have been contacting us to share their views on the Cafe's imminent closure. Norma Sommerville said: "Outrageous! Will be missed by many families. Walkers young and old should be encouraged." Christine Vandelden added: "It's needed there for people to enjoy a day out." Sonia Williams said: "Oh that's such a shame. We always have an ice-cream on our walk." TOP STORIES TODAY Eirlys Hollinshead told us: "This is so sad, grew up in Gwernymynydd. Has been there as long as I can remember, I worked on a Saturday there and all the children from Colymendy use to come. It will be sadly missed." Dianne Edwards said: "So sorry to hear this Nikki, you and your staff have worked so hard over the years, you will all be missed." Helen Doyle said: "So sad. You will be missed by many dogs and humans alike." Tracy McDowell said: "Without the cafe and the lovely staff that work there, it wouldn't be the park that has become so well loved today. The families, dog walkers, school parties, elderly, have all called in the lovely cafe over the years and returned over and over. "Over 30 years, I have shared it with my family, young and old . From the first meeting of my husband's large family, to kid's parties, family get together in the summer , afternoon tea's to hot chocolate and a sandwich in the winter. Thank you to everyone at Caffi Florence. You will be missed." Gillian Prestwich said: "What a great shame, it is always so busy." Annie Lloyd added: "Very disappointed. Small businesses should be encouraged to thrive in the area, especially when they have a proven track record."

High-speed broadband collaboration for Scottish homes and businesses
Emtelle, which is based in Hawick with manufacturing sites in Scotland, Germany, Denmark, Abu Dhabi and the US, said the collaboration will see it supply duct, sub-duct and fibre infrastructure for new full-fibre networks to enable 'fibre to the premises' speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second. The infrastructure is being supplied to GoFibre as part of the Edinburgh-based company's fourth contract under the £5 billion Project Gigabit. This contract is worth £105m, and will see GoFibre deliver high-speed broadband connections and download speeds to around 63,000 residents and businesses, in parts of the city of Aberdeen and elsewhere in Aberdeenshire, as well as in Angus, Dundee, the Highlands, Moray, and Perth and Kinross, Emtelle noted. The first connections are due to be delivered by summer 2026. The Scottish Government has noted it plays "a key role in delivering Project Gigabit procurements in Scotland, working closely with the UK Government to deploy funding committed to connect some of the hardest to reach geographies across the UK". Read more Emtelle, which describes itself as a 'global leader' in the supply of passive network infrastructure for high-speed connectivity, has partnered with GoFibre on its commercial network build, and to deliver previous contracts under Project Gigabit. GoFibre's network now extends to more than 120,000 premises, and covers in excess of 30 'hard-to-reach' areas in Scotland and the north of England. Emtelle and GoFibre, which was founded in the Scottish Borders town of Duns, joined forces to enhance digital connectivity for 8,000 residents and businesses in Hawick. The Hawick-based company noted it had played a key role by manufacturing and supplying the duct, sub-duct, and fibre needed to deliver full-fibre connectivity to the Scottish Borders town, supporting GoFibre's regional rollout. Gavin Faulds, chief commercial officer of Emtelle, said: 'We are delighted to be strengthening our partnership with GoFibre in order to bring full-fibre connectivity to more than 60,000 premises in the north-east of Scotland. 'As a major Scottish employer, we firmly believe Scotland needs a first-class digital network across every town and village in order to reduce the digital divide and boost economic growth. That is why we are committed to improving its networks, especially for those in rural regions who are the hardest to reach.' He added: 'In the long term, we aim to continue our partnership with GoFibre, and build the infrastructure that further transforms connectivity in both Scotland and the UK.' GoFibre chief executive Neil Conaghan said: 'Our strategic partnership with Emtelle is an important enabler for GoFibre to deliver our Project Gigabit contract in the north-east of Scotland. GoFibre and Emtelle are both Borders-born, and for two Scottish businesses to play such a crucial role in delivering gigabit connectivity for the country shows the strength of local supply chain. We're glad to have Emtelle as our strategic infrastructure partner.'
