Bollinger Motors Has Been Saved From the Brink of Death

Bollinger Motors has been saved. Mullen Automotive has acquired an additional 21 percent of the company, bringing its total ownership to 95 percent. Despite having complete control over Bollinger, Mullen said the automaker will maintain 'its own brand identity and focus.' Bollinger reportedly went into receivership earlier this year after company founder and former CEO Robert Bollinger sued the automaker, who left in 2024. He claimed Bollinger Motors owed him $10 million, but all that should be in the company's past. According to Mullen announcing the acquisition, it has 'resolved recent claims and debt that had led to a court-ordered receivership for Bollinger.' The court has discharged and removed the receiver and dismissed the case, Mullen says. Bollinger customers should expect 'business as usual,' which includes sales, services, and warranty coverage. The company will continue to develop the B4 chassis cab , its all-electric Class 4 commercial truck. Bollinger will utilize Mullen's resources to accelerate development and integrate the B4 into Mullen's EV ecosystem. Bollinger was founded in 2015 with initial plans to develop a mid-size electric pickup and an SUV. However, the B1 and B2 never entered production, and the company shifted focus to an electric commercial truck. Production for that began last September. 2025 Polestar 4's Final Pricing Reveals Higher Base MSRP, But It's Still a Decent Deal

The 2025 Polestar 4 is a quick and quirky coupe-bodied luxury electric SUV. While somewhat compact, the 4 enjoys a super-long wheelbase and is still able to seat five, jumps out of the gate like a scalded dog, and comes with an uncommon feature: no rear glass. It's a rather fun-to-drive all-electric SUV with an unusual, almost car-like shape—so how much will it cost? At our First Drive of the 2025 Polestar 4, we were told to expect the performance-focused SUV to start at around $56,300 for the single-motor, rear-wheel-drive model with its conventional suspension system and $64,300 for the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive variant with air suspension and semi-active dampers. With the Polestar 4 now on sale, it appears those prices have gone up slightly. The entry-level Polestar 4 now runs $57,800, including destination charges; the dual-motor AWD Polestar 4's price hasn't changed, so it still costs $64,300. The single-motor 4's new price tag closes the gap between it and the dual-motor version to just $6,500. That's still a decent amount of room between the two, but close enough that choosing between the two versions will come down to each buyer's priorities. If that's driving range, then the base Polestar 4's extra 30 miles of range (the two 4s share the same 400-volt, 100-kWh battery pack) and lower price make it an easy choice. If you're looking for ultimate speed (such as the dual motor 4's claimed 3.7-second zero-to-60-mph time), a 3,500-pound towing capacity, and a more adaptive suspension, then the dual motor's price premium is easy to justify. Something else to consider: The dual-motor Polestar 4 is the only version to offer the Performance Pack (a $4,500 add-on) that includes a sport-tuned suspension, 22-inch wheels, and Brembo four-piston front brake calipers. Selecting this option requires first spending $5,500 for the Plus Pack, meaning the ultimate Polestar 4 will cost a grand total of $74,300. In spite of the Performance Pack's name and cost (effectively an extra ten grand), however, it doesn't add any extra power—Polestar 4s so equipped make the same 544 hp and 506 lb-ft of torque as other dual-motor models. The Plus Pack is also offered on the single-motor 4, and selecting it on either Polestar 4 opens up the option to add the electrochromic glass roof ($1,500) that electronically changes opacity at the touch of a button, color-matched bodyside moldings ($1,000) for a sleeker look, and a Nappa leather interior ($3,700). While you can only get the 22-inch Performance wheels on the AWD Performance Pack, you can get a set of 21-inch Sport wheels on the single motor version and non-Performance-Pack dual motor for $1,800 while adding the Towbar Hitch—rated as a Class 2 with its two-inch tow ball and includes a seven-pin trailer connector—at an additional $1,895. How does this pricing compare to the vehicles the Polestar 4 competes with? Even with its higher entry price, the 2025 Polestar 4 RWD is cheaper than the internal-combustion-engine 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 4Matic Coupe that starts at $60,450 while the Polestar 4 AWD is $3,850 more. When you compare to similarly sized all-electric luxury SUVs, the 2025 Polestar 4 AWD is much cheaper—try fully $16,495 less than the Porsche Macan 4 Electric ($80,795), $14,750 less than the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV 4Matic ($79,050), and $2,895 less than an entry-level dual-motor Jeep Wagoneer S ($67,195). You're also getting more power from the Polestar 4, at least compared to the Macan and EQE (the Jeep is available with up to 600 hp), though the Porsche and Jeep beat the dual-motor Polestar 4 on range. The single-motor Polestar 4, on the other hand, similarly undercuts its equivalent Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 and Porsche Macan rivals, and Jeep doesn't offer a lower-cost, single-motor Wagoneer S. Of course, none of those electric luxury SUVs look anything like the Polestar 4, and all have conventional rear windows. But the Polestar 4 otherwise represents a decent value in its segment, at least price-wise.

2026 Dodge Charger Daytona EV Sedan First Look: Now With 4 Doors

As expected, Dodge has officially confirmed the four-door version of the electric Charger is arriving later this year. Additionally, the company has revealed previously standard features like the Track Package will now be options, which should bring down base prices across the board for the 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona EV lineup. The sedan will reach dealers later this year and should help bolster sales numbers simply by virtue of attracting customers who want four doors, which is most of them. More Doors The four-door Charger EV is anything but a surprise. Dodge has been clear from the jump the Charger would come in both two- and four-door bodies to replace both the outgoing Charger sedan and Challenger coupe. The actual difference really is as simple as the number of doors, with Dodge explaining the roofline, hatchback, and front and rear styling are the same. Like the two-doors, the four-door will come standard with both front and rear electric motors and therefore all-wheel drive. Because the R/T trim level has been cancelled for the 2026 model year, all Charger sedans will be Scat Packs and will therefore come with 670 hp and 627 lb-ft out of the box. Similarly, because the sedan uses the same 100.5-kWh battery as the coupe, range is likewise a maximum of 241 miles. Dodge says it'll charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 24 minutes on a DC Fast charger, but in our testing, getting from 5 percent to 80 precent took 44 minutes, so color us doubtful. With the same power and similar weight and aerodynamics, Dodge says the Charger EV sedan will hit 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. We measured a Charger Daytona Scat Pack EV coupe at 3.2 seconds. Being the same means the sedan will also come with the controversial 'Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust,' which is actually a speaker that plays V-8 noises. It also means the sedan will have a Drift Mode but will still not be able to do standing burnouts. Less Money? Because the two body styles are the same underneath, all the same options apply. Dodge hasn't announced any changes for 2026 yet, and 2025 options include the convenience-oriented Plus Group, the appearance-oriented Carbon and Suede Package, and the performance-oriented Track Package. Critically, though, the Track Package is now optional on both body styles. For 2025, it was standard (you literally could not uncheck the box) on Scat Packs and added $4,995 to the price of the car. Dodge hasn't announced 2026 pricing yet, but we're hopeful making the Track Package optional will knock thousands of dollars off the base price. For reference, the 2025 Charger Daytona Scat Pack coupe starts at $75,980. The entry level R/T model, which has been discontinued for 2026, started at $61,590. Dodge says 2026 Charger EVs are available to order now, but the new models have not yet appeared on the website. Deliveries are scheduled for some time in the second half of this year. Both two- and four-door EVs will come with a day of free driver training at Radford Racing School in Arizona. Gas-Powered Chargers Coming Gas-powered Charger Sixpack models, which feature a twin-turbo inline six-cylinder 'Hurricane' engine under the hood and no electric motors in sight are also still on schedule to arrive later this year. We're led to believe the four-doors and gas-powered cars will show up around the same time. Pricing for these models, which will also be available in two- and four-door bodies, hasn't been released yet, either. New Dress Up Options Dodge also used this announcement to introduce two new exterior design options for 2026. The more elaborate is a Fratzog stripe package which features two matte black stripes with red accents and repeating Fratzog triangles inside the stripes. The other is a hand-painted gloss black hood option.
