The 13th professional fight of Jake Paul's boxing career is Saturday night in Anaheim, California. Paul will headline a DAZN card on Saturday night when he takes on former middleweight champion and second-generation fighter Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Here are the details on the event, including the fight card.
Paul vs. Chávez Jr. Full Fight Card and Viewing Info
Paul - Chavez Jr. Fight Card
The motivation for this Paul fight doesn't appear to be at the same level as some of his previous bouts. We can't compare it to the Mike Tyson fight, as that was a once-in-a-lifetime novelty event.
But compared to Paul's clash with Mike Perry and Nate Diaz, this scrap with Chavez Jr. doesn't seem to be moving the needle as much.
Blame that on fans' lack of belief in, or knowledge of, Chavez. Even at 39, a fighter who has accomplished as much as Chavez Jr. has in his career should represent Paul's stiffest competition since he lost a split.
Still, Paul is a massive minus-575 favorite, while Chavez Jr. is a plus-400 underdog. That's pretty amazing considering the difference in experience and the fact that Chavez is only 39 years old.

In any case, if Paul wins as expected, it would not surprise me to see him get an opportunity to challenge for a cruiserweight title. There's a potential problem there for 'The Problem Child.'
Jai Opetaia and Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez (who fights on the Paul-Chavez Jr. card) have all but one of the recognized world titles at cruiserweight. Opetaia and Ramirez are serious champions who would represent such a massive step up in competition for Paul that it might be dangerous for him to bark up those trees.

That's especially the case with Opetaia, who is a nasty KO finisher fighting in his prime.
A more interesting fight for Paul—if he were to get a title shot after the Chavez fight—would be against WBC champion Badou Jack. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman has already said he believes Paul should be ranked if he beats Chavez.
That comment makes a title fight later this year more realistic.
Jack is a seasoned pro. He's gritty and tough as they come. However, Jack is 41 years old, and he has been in a ton of wars. That said, he hasn't lost a fight since he dropped a split decision to Jean Pascal in December 2019.

Jack is far from a household name, but he would be the most respected opponent Paul has faced. And that fight would represent a natural progression for the Problem Child at this stage of his boxing journey.
First things first, he's got to take care of Chavez Jr. Most don't believe the latter will take the fight—or his training leading up to it—seriously enough to make a solid showing. Perhaps we'll all be surprised, and the two men will put on a memorable show. It would be great to see Paul in a competitive fight.
We haven't seen that since the split decision loss to Tommy Fury in February 2023. Be on the lookout for my live results, beginning with the Farmer-Schofield clash.

North Texas restaurant names pizza after No. 1 draft pick Cooper Flagg, topped with his favorites
New era begins as Mavs and their fans celebrate Cooper Flagg pick New era begins as Mavs and their fans celebrate Cooper Flagg pick New era begins as Mavs and their fans celebrate Cooper Flagg pick The Mavericks' No. 1 draft pick, Cooper Flagg, is on his way to Dallas and one restaurant is welcoming him with a mix of his favorite things. Motor City Pizza, located off I-35E and Justin Road in Lewisville, introduced The Cooper Flagg Pizza ahead of the draft. After doing some research, the pizzeria said the No. 1 draft pick's favorite food is a chicken bacon ranch steak melt sandwich. So, they turned it into a pizza on June 25. The pizza is a Detroit-style pie with ranch, red bell peppers, bacon and chicken, topped with mixed greens. According to the restaurant's website, The Cooper Flagg Pizza starts at $16.95. To wash it down, Bedford's Turning Point Brewery created a beer inspired by his favorite drink – blue Gatorade – although 18-year-old Flagg won't be able to enjoy it. Motor City did not say how long the pizza will be available. Flagg joins a roster stacked with No. 1 picks The 6-foot-8 forward led the Blue Devils in all five major statistical categories, and has already proven his game can hold up against the pros when he played well last summer during an invite to the U.S. Olympic team's training camp. Flagg will join a Mavericks roster already loaded with talent, including forward Anthony Davis and guard Kyrie Irving, who has reportedly signed a new 3-year contract with Dallas. Flagg will wear No. 32 for the Mavericks.

Hornets draft pick Kon Knueppel calls entering NBA 'blessing from God'
Kon Knueppel heard his name called fairly early during the NBA Draft on Wednesday night. The Charlotte Hornets selected the former Duke Blue Devils star with the No. 4 pick. He went three picks after his teammate, Cooper Flagg, was taken No. 1 by the Dallas Mavericks. Knueppel was with his brothers as he spoke to ESPN following the selection and praised the Lord for being able to turn professional. "I mean it's such a blessing from God to be able to enter the NBA, but to be able to share it with your family is beyond comprehension. It's such a special moment for us and for me," he said. Kash Knueppel was one of Kon's four brothers who was with him on draft night. He was asked to hype up his brother. "It's awesome. It's a blessing from God. He'll have fun – every minute of it. It'll be awesome to watch him from home," he said. Kon Knuppel briefly mentioned his Christian faith in an interview with Rivals in February 2023. He said it was a big reason why he was considering Virginia at the time before he ultimately decided to join Duke. Tony Bennett was the head coach of the Cavaliers at the time. "I've told a couple of people this, but when I went on my visit there, coach (Tony) Bennett said that he wanted me to know that Virginia is a faith-based program," he said at the time. "That's something that's stuck with me, being a Christian. "That's something that's really important to me, so that was awesome to hear and something I don't always hear. They've also got a great, great program. They've been the best in the ACC for a long time now." Knueppel played one season at Duke. He averaged 14.4 points and 4 rebounds per game. Buccaneers extend coach Todd Bowles, GM Jason Licht
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed coach Todd Bowles and general manager Jason Licht to multiyear extensions, the team announced Thursday. Bowles, 61, is entering his fourth season as the Bucs' head coach, leading them to a 27-24 record, winning the NFC South three times and making the playoffs each year. Last year, Tampa Bay finished 10-7 and lost to the Washington Commanders in the wild-card round. Advertisement In early 2022, the team promoted Bowles from defensive coordinator after Bruce Arians retired from coaching. Bowles led the defense for three years, including during the Buccaneers' 2020 Super Bowl-winning season. 'Jason and Todd's excellent leadership and vision have been critical to our organizational success, and the winning culture they have established has us well positioned into the future,' Buccaneers owner and co-chairman Joel Glazer said in a statement. 'Jason has evolved into one of the top talent evaluators and general managers in the NFL, while Todd has led us to three consecutive division titles and is one of the league's leading defensive minds. Under their guidance, we will continue building towards another championship.' Licht, 54, is entering his 12th season with Tampa Bay. Under his guidance, the Buccaneers have drafted integral players such as Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Tristan Wirfs, among others. Licht also signed veteran quarterback Tom Brady ahead of the 2020 season, which resulted in the franchise winning its second Super Bowl.
