Acclaimed singer Sonu Nigam, celebrating his 52nd birthday today, July 30, announced his upcoming seven-city tour, 'Satrangi Re India Tour'. The tour will travel across Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Shillong and Delhi-NCR, with tickets going live at 12PM on Friday, August 1, on BookMyShow.
Produced and conceptualised by NR Talent & Event Management, the upcoming tour is billed as a celebration of the seven colours of love, 'each representing a unique emotion that resonates with Sonu Nigam's vast repertoire of songs,' according to a press release from the organisers. ''Satrangi Re', which translates to 'seven colours' in Hindi, is a musical journey that will take audiences on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, from the camaraderie of yellow to the tranquillity of purple. This tour is imagined as a journey through seven distinct emotions of love, inspired by the layered sentiment of Satrangi Re itself. From the fervent red of passionate longing to the quiet blue of painful separation, each colour corresponds to a song that has left an indelible mark – 'Main Ki Karaan?', 'Jeene Ke Hai Char Din', 'Zoobi Doobi', 'Sapna Jahan, 'Ro Lein De', 'Papa Meri Jaan', 'Mere Dolna', 'Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin', 'Shukaran Allah', 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' and more,' it further read.
Additionally, the singer has also announced the release of his new single, 'Kahani Meri,' which blends Hindustani and Carnatic classical influences. Filmed in the picturesque Leh, the song is composed by PVNS Rohit and is released on Nigam's indie label, I Believe Music. Interestingly, the singer released the song today alongside a young fan, Vedarrth, who shares his birthday with him. 'His parents tell me that he has been an ardent admirer of my music since he was in his mother's womb and continues to be so. Having him launch 'Kahani Meri,' a song that's extremely close to my heart, is heartening,' said Nigam in a statement, adding that he is excited about the 'Satrangi Re' tour. 'I love each of you, my extended family, for embracing my work. 'Satrangi Re 2025' is a way of celebrating our symbiotic bond of love through different colours, each depicting a specific emotion,' he added.
Meanwhile, Namrata Gupta Khan, co-founder, NR Talent & Event Management, said, 'Seeing the kind of love Sonu Nigam receives across the world and the love that each of his songs laces, apt for every emotion, we conceptualised this tour. At each of these 7 concerts, he will perform a curated selection of songs depicting an array of emotions — from friendship and first love to passion and heartbreak, showcasing his incredible vocal range and versatility.'
Rabbani Mustafa Khan, singer and co-founder, NR Talent & Event Management, said, 'Sonu ji is my brother as my father, Padma Vibhushan Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan sahab, was his guru. I've seen his musical journey so closely that it was a dream to execute a thematic tour as this one. I'm grateful to Sonu ji for always believing in our dream, and I'm certain this tour will be a celebration like never before.'
Anil Makhija, COO – Live Entertainment & Venues, BookMyShow, added, 'Sonu Nigam's music has always captured the many shades of love – personal yet profoundly universal. This vision demanded a seamless, full-stack approach. From creative development and thematic design to ticketing architecture and the launch campaign and marketing, we've built every element to ensure the experience stays true to Sonu Nigam's timeless tunes that connect hearts.'
