Donald Trump says he has Club World Cup trophy and Chelsea was awarded replica

US President Donald Trump says Chelsea was awarded a replica Club World Cup trophy after their victory over PSG, and the real trophy was left to the White House "forever".
Speaking to DAZN — the broadcaster which has just acquired the rights to the AFL and NRL — Mr Trump said the trophy was left to him when FIFA president Gianni Infantino visited in March.
"They said, 'Could you hold this trophy for a little while?' We put it in the Oval Office," Mr Trump said.
"And then I said, 'When are you going to pick up the trophy?' He says, 'We're never going to pick it up. You can have it forever in the Oval Office. We're making a new one.'
"And they actually made a new one. So that was quite exciting … it's in the Oval right now."
Infantino also appeared to give Mr Trump a winner's medal during the presentation after the final, which the president put in his pocket before the trophy celebrations.
The presentation made for awkward scenes, as Chelsea players appeared bemused by the president's presence amongst the celebrating team.
Cole Palmer, who was awarded the Golden Ball as the top player of the tournament, looked the most confused out of the team as Mr Trump remained on stage.
"I knew he was going to be here, but I didn't know he was going to be on the stand when we lifted the trophy, so I was a bit confused," Palmer said after the match.
The Englishman starred in the game and said he felt Chelsea had been doubted before the tournament.
"It's a great feeling. Even better because obviously everyone doubted us before the game," Palmer said.
"The gaffer put a great game plan out and obviously he knew where the space was going to be."

Man United and Arsenal land major signings

Manchester United's long pursuit of Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo has ended after they finally reached an agreement with the London club. Six weeks after their first offer was rebuffed, Ruben Amorim's side have agreed terms with fellow EPL side the Bees to sign the 25-year-old forward. United are set to pay an initial £65m (A$134m) for Mbeumo, plus potential add-ons. The Cameroon international will become the Premier League club's second major summer signing after Brazil international Matheus Cunha, who joined from Wolves last month. Mbeumo expressed a firm desire to move to Old Trafford over other clubs, including Tottenham, and his arrival is a major boost ahead of United's pre-season tour. Amorim's men fly to the United States on Tuesday for the three-game Premier League Summer Series. Mbeumo has just had the best season of his career, scoring 20 Premier League goals and providing seven assists. Meanwhile, Arsenal have completed the £48m (A$99m) transfer of Chelsea forward Noni Madueke, who becomes Mikel Arteta's fourth signing of the summer. The 23-year-old is understood to have signed a five-year deal. The England international will provide competition to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in wide areas. However, Madueke's move across London has been met with severe criticism by Arsenal supporters on social media. Madueke left Chelsea's eventual Club World Cup winning campaign in the United States last Friday to undergo his medical at Arsenal and put the finishing touches on his controversial move. Madueke scored 11 times for Chelsea last season and was rewarded with his first senior international appearances under England interim manager Lee Carsley. Arsenal remain hopeful of signing striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, although it is not believed that a deal is imminent.

Tim Tszyu's mum makes shock revelation ahead of boxing world title rematch

Natalia Tszyu has flown to Vegas for her son Tim's world title fight but she won't be ringside – in fact she won't even be watching. Australia's first lady of boxing is staying true to her word, opting out of seeing her son do battle. No more blood and gore. 'I am in Vegas with my family, I am here with everyone but I won't be watching,' Natalia told in the lead-up to Tim's rematch with WBC super welterweight champ Sebastian Fundora. 'My family is all here, we are all here. The fight will be on my birthday.' Tim (25-2 record) suffered his first career defeat against Fundora (22-1-1) in March last year, when a severe cut on his head from an errant elbow significantly impacted his vision in a split decision loss to the American. In his next fight in October 2024, Tim's hospitalisation following his brutal, third-round knockout loss to Bakhram Murtazaliev in Orlando was the tipping point for the devoted mum who has been around boxing most of her life. 'I am the mother of two warriors,' she said referring to Tim and her other boxing son Nikita. 'I've stood at the edge of the ring with my breath caught in my throat, watched them fight battles only they can fight, and smiled through fear no one else could see. 'People see the knockouts, the belts, the bright lights. 'They don't see the early mornings, the tears I've wiped in silence, the prayers whispered into the night when no one's looking. 'I carry their pain. I celebrate their victories. But I never stop being their mother first.' Natalia said she was confident Tim has 'all the heart, discipline and power to win' on Sunday. 'I believe in him — and I know Australia does too.' Natalia described boxing as 'beautiful and brutal'. 'And as proud as I am, being the mother of boxing sons can be the loneliest place in the world. 'But I wouldn't trade it for anything. 'Because in every fight, in every roar of the crowd, a piece of my heart walks into that ring. 'And no matter how far they go, they always carry their mother with them – quietly, fiercely, always.' It's been a busy few months for Natalia, who has also welcomed her first grandchild 'Holding her in my arms is a feeling beyond words. I'm proud of every moment — proud of my children and now this new life. 'Thank you to this beautiful country, Australia, for giving us the opportunity to be born, grow, and now raise a second generation here.'
