A luxurious estate on the Ayrshire coast is offering something a little different this summer, complete with Highland cow safaris, homemade traybakes, and countryside charm.
Glenapp Castle, located near Girvan, is inviting visitors to enjoy its new Summer Special package, blending Scottish heritage, outdoor adventure and fine dining for a getaway to remember.

The historic castle, which has hosted famous faces including Gok Wan and Gordon Ramsay, has featured on shows such as Good Morning Britain and Gordon Ramsay's Future Food Stars. Now it's inviting day-trippers and weekenders to enjoy a distinctly Scottish adventure through its new Summer Special package.

With longer days, warmer weather and a rise in last-minute bookings, Glenapp's offering includes a quirky countryside highlight: a private Highland cow safari known as 'Glenapp's Private Coos and Ewes'.
The tour gives guests an up-close introduction to Scotland's beloved Highland cows through an exclusive experience in partnership with Kitchen Coos and Ewes, Glasgow Live reports.
The gentle giants, affectionately known as 'moodles', each have their own story, including one herd member with a budding modelling career.
Guests will not only learn about the social structure and charm of these iconic animals but will also meet tour hosts Janet and Neale, whose 108 combined years of farm life add a warm, personal touch to the journey.
The visit ends with Janet's freshly baked traybakes, served with tea and coffee straight from the farmhouse kitchen. To top it all off, guests take home a goody bag filled with Highland coo-themed souvenirs.

Back at the castle, guests can unwind at the Azalea restaurant, located inside Glenapp's Victorian Glasshouse, where afternoon tea is served in stunning surroundings.
The Summer Special package also includes two nights in one of Glenapp's luxurious Castle Bedroom Suites, along with a complimentary archery lesson, use of the tennis court, croquet lawn, boules, and access to electric and mountain bikes for exploring the estate's 110 acres of gardens and grounds.

Dinner is served each night in either the grand Castle Dining Room or the newly launched Azalea restaurant, with a three-course meal included as part of the package.
The Glenapp Castle Summer Special is priced from £312.50 per person per night. The Private Coos and Ewes safari experience can be added for £290 for one to four guests, with a £45 charge for each additional person.

Rebecca Loos: ‘Disappointing' Celebrity SAS interrogation focused on Beckham

Loos, who is now a yoga instructor living in Norway, made headline news when she claimed in a kiss-and-tell interview that Sir David had cheated on his wife Victoria with her. The 48-year-old appears on the latest season of Channel 4's Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, where she was asked about the alleged affair. Of this experience, Loos told ITV's Good Morning Britain: 'It was a little bit disappointing that there was so much focus on that in the interrogation room, because I really did think that going in, there was an opportunity for them to get to know me, and that was a very small part of my life, so, but it is what it is.' The former footballer has always maintained that Loos's allegations of an affair are 'ludicrous'. Asked whether the interrogation on the reality show was a 'final learning curve' that her association with Sir David will never fade as that is what she is best known for, Loos said she recognised that that was true. She continued: 'The reason I spoke out back in the day, and we don't need to talk about this this morning because we don't need to focus on that. 'We're here for SAS. 'But the one thing I will say for me, it was always about the truth. 'It was always about being truthful for the truth to be revealed and I feel that that is one of the reasons why it won't go away.' Loos went on to shut down another question from Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley who asked whether she 'blamed him' for denying the alleged affair. 'I think we should focus on SAS,' Loos said. During the interrogation on the reality show, Loos said of the alleged affair: 'I think I've definitely taken most of the blame for what's happened, and rightly so. 'It was part of my life, but you know, we were two, and he was older than me, and he was my boss.' Loos previously said she was shocked by 'horrific' trolling she received after the period was revisited in Sir David's documentary series, which launched on Netflix in 2023. Other celebrity contestants on this series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins include the Traitor's winner Harry Clark, musician Lady Leshurr and former Premier League Footballer Troy Deeney. Airing across eight one-hour episodes, the seventh series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which started on August 3, is available to watch on Channel 4 every Sunday and Monday from 9pm.

A Scottish man has told how he was inspired to join the US military after watching a performance of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Airman 1st Class Crisdean Langan, 21, from Edinburgh, saw the Tattoo in 2022 and opted to join the USAF Honor Guard, using his joint US citizenship. He is now performing in this year's Tattoo. He said he had been undecided about whether to join the UK or US military, but chose the US after watching the Tattoo three years ago. He said: 'I was born and raised in Edinburgh. My grandad was in the US airforce then and I was always on the fence about which to join. I saw a bunch of videos online of the US Honor Guard and they were awesome. Then when I saw them at the Tattoo, I was amazed. Watching them throwing up the rifles and then catching them was incredible. There was something about it that just stuck out to me.' He added: 'One of my draws towards the US military was definitely my grandad. He has always been such a solid role model in my life.'
