Wrestling great Hulk Hogan dead at 71

Article content Hulk Hogan, the wrestler credited by many for pushing professional wrestling into mainstream media during his 1980s heyday, has died. Article content He was 71. Article content Article content First responders were called to Hogan's home in Clearwater, Fla, for a cardiac arrest just before 10 a.m. Thursday morning, according to the Clearwater Police Department's Facebook post. Hogan, whose given name is Terry Bollea, was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Article content Article content On X, WWE expressed condolences over the passing of 'one of pop culture's most recognizable figures.' Article content WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture's most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s.
