Moses Itauma v Dillian Whyte: Full card, fight time, ring walks, prediction and how to watch

The National2 days ago
Heavyweight prodigy Moses Itauma faces a step up in class when he takes on former world title challenger Dillian Whyte in Riyadh on Saturday night.
Itauma, 20, has been hyped as the next big thing in the division. He already has a high ranking with several of the sanctioning bodies after amassing a 12-0 record, including 10 knockouts and seven in the first round. The WBO even have him as their number one ranked contender.
He is, however, yet to face an opponent as experienced and seasoned as Whyte, who can lean on the experience of sharing the ring with Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker during a 14-year professional career.
After two years in the wilderness, the British heavyweight was thrown a lifeline earlier in 2025 when he was matched with the division's hottest property.
Whyte has been forced to clear his name from drug accusations three times – the latest in 2023 after a rematch with Joshua collapsed due to a positive test, which was later found to be the result of a contaminated supplement.
Nevertheless, it pushed Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs) even further away from a desired second world title bout after his 2022 loss to Fury – until being given a shot at redemption this weekend.
But former WBC interim heavyweight champion Whyte is a huge outsider versus Itauma, who has earned comparisons to Mike Tyson with his knockout power.
The bout tops a five fight main card in the Saudi capital which has been timed to coincide with the Esports World Cup.

Prediction for Itauma v Whyte
There's no doubt that Whyte is by far the most experienced fighter Itauma has faced so far, but he has been inactive and looked poor when he has boxed. Itauma, put simply, is all wrong for Whyte at this late stage of his career.
Whyte will hope to get through the early onslaught and take Itauma into deep waters but it is a big ask.
Itauma's speed and aggression should be too much for Whyte with the younger man earning a stoppage in the first half of the bout.

Moses Itauma calls for tougher tests after first-round demolition of Dillian Whyte in Riyadh

Moses Itauma blew away Dillian Whyte with a devastating first-round knockout in their all-British heavyweight clash in Riyadh. The 20-year-old extended his perfect record through 13 professional fights as he sent veteran Whyte sprawling to the canvas inside two minutes. It was Itauma's 11th KO win and his eighth inside a round. Former WBC interim heavyweight champion Whyte, 37, was not given any time to settle as Itauma – who had been made to wait in the ring by a delayed walk-in from his British rival – immediately went on the front foot. Kent southpaw Itauma tested Whyte with a series of early jabs before more ruthless combinations sent him back on to the ropes. Another powerful right hook sent Whyte crashing to the floor and although he stumbled back on to his feet, the referee stepped in to wave off the contest with just over a minute left of the first round. On the back of another hugely impressive display, the calls will continue to grow for Slovakia-born Itauma to be handed a world title shot in 2026. 'That's what I've been drilling for 12, 13 weeks,' Itauma told the BBC. 'I have trained hard for this [so] I didn't want it to be over in the first round. 'I put on a performance for you guys, so it's now who's next? 'I don't want to call out [undisputed world heavyweight champion Oleksandr] Usyk because I don't believe I deserve the opportunity – but guys that do deserve the opportunity, I want to fight those lot. 'So maybe Agit Kabayel, maybe Joseph Parker. Maybe them type of names. As of right now, I am going to rest and then maybe be back in the gym.' Itauma seemed irked as Whyte left him hanging around in the ring for several minutes as he walked second in the Saudi capital. Designed to unsettle the youngster, the move failed to have the desired effect and it was one-way traffic from the first bell. Whyte, who failed to land a single blow of any note, has been inactive and is likely looking at the end of a career that saw him once challenge Tyson Fury for the heavyweight title. Long tipped by pundits as a future champion, Itauma's latest success – the most significant of his young career – will only increase the hype. Speaking afterwards, veteran promoter Frank Warren said he is among the top talents he has ever worked with. 'Without a doubt [he's one of the best prospects],' he told Dazn. "He's done everything we've asked, and how he's done it, he's the most unbelievable finisher. 'If he catches you, you're in trouble. You think about the three losses on Dillian's record, they're world champions, real quality fighters, guys who have been at the top of the game. 'In one round, he caught him. The game plan from [trainer] Ben [Davison] and the team, they got it absolutely perfect. I thought it would be a bit longer than that. 'But he's done it in style. He's a phenomenal finisher. He catches you. He doesn't get flustered. He' gets space on his shots, he doesn't fall into the opponent. 'Every shot he throws is a hurtful punch, a well-measured punch. He's an unbelievable talent, probably one of the best at this stage of his career that I've ever been involved with.'

UAE: Meet India's first female racing champion set to make Middle East debut

Once Diana Pundole hits the accelerator, there's no slowing her down. The roar of the engine, the thrill of speed, the razor-sharp focus on every lap — racing is her world. Now, she's bringing her skills to the Middle East. This September, India's first female racer will make her debut at the Ferrari Club Challenge, competing across Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai. 'It's going to be a whole new chapter,' said Pundole, who recently visited Dubai as the chief guest for the Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) Independence Day celebration on Friday (August 15). 'The tracks here are world-class, the speeds are higher. I can't wait to hit the tracks.' Stay up to date with the latest news. Follow KT on WhatsApp Channels. How it all started Diana's love for racing traces back to her late father, a devoted motorsport fan. 'As a kid, I would watch Formula One races with my father. I followed the drivers and slowly got pulled into their world," she said. Her journey started with go-karting as a hobby in Mumbai and Pune. A career in motorsport seemed unlikely — until she spotted an online ad for a women's racing competition. The only requirement? Knowing how to drive a manual car. 'I thought, why not give it a try? I had no idea it would change my life.' From nearly 200 women across India, Diana made it to the top six, winning a fully sponsored year of professional racing. 'The moment I sat in that race car, something clicked. I knew this was where I belonged.' Racing without limits Diana's journey wasn't smooth sailing. She entered a male-dominated sport, competing against drivers who had years of training and family support. Diana, on the other hand, had no guidebook — just determination by her side. 'In my debut season, a coach told me I would never win. That moment lit a fire in me. I promised myself I wouldn't stop until I beat the boys,' she said. Years of long hours, relentless practice, and unwavering focus paid off. In 2023, she made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a mixed-gender race. 'That was a moment I'll never forget,' she said. 'It wasn't just about proving many of them wrong. It was about proving to myself that I could do it.' Diana never entered women-only championships. 'Racing doesn't need separate categories for men and women. It's about skill, focus, and pushing yourself. I wanted to race against the best, no matter who they were.' That mindset led her to make history again in 2024, becoming the first woman to win India's national saloon car championship. Road to the UAE Diana has already driven in the UAE during practice sessions, pushing a Ferrari to 270 kmph at Yas Marina Circuit. Now, she's ready to compete. The Ferrari Club Challenge begins in Abu Dhabi, moves across the Gulf, and ends at Dubai Autodrome. 'Every track has its own character. Yas Marina is technical and precise, while Dubai demands absolute focus. I am excited to test myself against the best here,' she said. While Diana is based in India, she usually visits Dubai twice a month as she balances racing with family time. 'Dubai is just incredible,' she said. 'It's grown so fast, become so dynamic, and has turned into a global hub of opportunity. The energy here is inspiring.' What racing means for her Diana also lauds the Indian community in the UAE. 'Wherever I go, I see hardworking South Asians — Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis — all contributing to the city's success. It's like motorsport. It's about dedication, focus, and never giving up.' For her, racing is about more than crossing finish lines — it's about inspiring others to chase their dreams. 'Whether your passion is racing, cooking, or painting, follow your inner calling," she said. 'Push past people's expectations and do what feels right for you. Success will come naturally." From her first day in a race car to making history on the podium, Diana has shown that the toughest races are often fought within. And as she gets ready to compete on some of the most challenging tracks in the Middle East, she said that when she presses that accelerator in Dubai, she'll be going full throttle, chasing the next big win.
